Chef Nasrin can’t remember life before cooking. For her, cooking is an expression of love. In her family’s kitchen in Tehran, she faithfully learned secret recipes and delicate skills from her grandmother and mother. In her restaurant those dishes and memories are transformed into a flavorful experience that transcend borders and time. Nasrin's kitchen menu is a celebration of traditional dishes from all over Iran.

The menu consists of classic stews including her signature Fesenjoon - an elegant combination of pomegranate molasses and crushed walnuts, as well as other beloved favorites like Ghormeh sabzi. Kabobs, vegetarian centric appetizers and savory side dishes also adorn the colorful menu.

Chef Nasrin and her authentic cooking has been featured in several renowned publications: including the New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine, Vogue Magazine, Eater. She has also created memorable catering events for Google, Twitter, HBO & NYC Public Library.

I love Persian food and while this is an attempt to serving a homey version of it it ultimately is just an overpriced bowl of rice with a bit of dry meats and blandish spice level horrendous bill and 6% credit card charge disappointing

Nasrin’s Kitchen is a special place. The food is excellent, the staff are warm, welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is convivial and delightful. We knew this would become a favorite for us early in the meal.

Terrible experience tonight. We ordered at 6:30 and advised our server we had to be finished by 7:30. He assured us our meals were quickly prepared we would be served and be done by 7:30. At 7:20 our meals did not arrive. We had theater tickets for 8pm at Lincoln Ctr. We canceled our meals and left. The server, hostess, manager or anyone who was working there never bothered to acknowledge the inconvenience or offer an apology. We saw that 2 tables that sat after us were served before us. This is my second time dining here. The first time service was also erratic and slow. How this restaurant continues to get away with this atrocious behavior to customers defies logic. I will never return and I will be telling everyone else about this awful experience. I was embarrassed because I promised my friend who is a chef from DC that the Persian food at Nasrin’s was excellent. Alas, he nor I would find out.

The female waitress was respectful and helpful. The ambiance was pleasant. The ground Kebob was good. I had tea and asked for refill. When I recurved the bill, they had charged me $15.50 for the tea! I had to object and negotiate with the male waiter to reduce it to $5.50. Usually Persian restaurant have free refills. If the refill is not free, the right thing is to tell the customer that each cup of tea if $5. That was disappointing.

Excellent flavorful Persian cuisine except not enough lamb on that one dish where it was overpowered by the rice - we have gotten just about 5 small pieces of lamb and everything else was the rice and the barberries. Rice pudding could be more tasty - pretty bland with just cinnamon to give it some taste. Roasted eggplant dip and homemade bread very appetizing.

I have been to Nasrin’s several times, for some reason, this time the service was very slow… the food was great as usual though!

My joojeh kabob was super dry and flavorless, the barg was so chewy and dry it was almost inedible, and the jewel kabob was dry and had an odd taste. It was very unfortunate! The food was way overpriced. The maste musir and the bread were very tasty though.

This was an exceptional dining experience all around. Multiple delicious dishes, served by a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive waiter. Fabulous wine. Elegant old style dining room, hidden upstairs from the street. And all helmed by a recent immigrant who has brought her extraordinary cooking to our city. Try dishes like the Mirza Ghasemi (a smoky eggplant dip), Soltani (lamb and beef kebabs), and Fesenjoon (an incredible pomegranate chicken).

The food (Ghormeh sabzi) was surprisingly good; it tasted more like something you’d have in someone’s home, rather than large batch preparation in a restaurant kitchen. So credit for that. The menu itself seemed quite limited with many of the ‘standard’ dishes one would expect on the menu of a Persian restaurant missing. Sadly, the service bordered on poor, which took away from the experience. The prices are absurd - I understand the location will contribute to this, but $50 for kebab is unheard of. Especially given the ‘modest’ portions (by Persian standards). The food was enjoyable, but I can’t imagine going back.

The service is always very friendly (even if it’s not consistent). Unfortunately our after dinner tea service was not hot and we had a couple of special tea cookies that had mold on them. But the seating and the dinner itself was lovely.

There was a lot of buzz when the restaurant opened so I was excited to try it. It did not disappoint. I thought everything was great. It’s not a traditional Persian restaurant in that you’re not going to find an infinite list of kebab options. It’s a small menu but a really good one. Also the portions are massive-I read a few reviews that said otherwise, definitely not true. Each dinner portion could generously feed two people. The food was delicious. Definitely going back

During our recent visit to Nasrin restaurant , we had the pleasure of trying their renowned dish, The food was undeniably delicious. Each bite of the Dizi was bursting with rich, savory goodness, showcasing the chef's skill and expertise. The blend of spices and ingredients was perfectly balanced, creating a memorable culinary delight. and what truly stood out during our dining experience was the outstanding service provided by the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Throughout the meal, our server was attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Their professionalism and dedication truly elevated our dining experience. We will certainly be returning, and we won't hesitate to recommend it to our friends and family.

We had a birthday dinner this past Saturday. It was very crowded and uncomfortable. We appreciate the attention we received, but the food was not as good as last summer and the menu was limited.

I absolutely loved this meal and restaurant and chef! In a city full of creative foods from around the globe, Chef Nasrin's home-style Persian cuisine is unique and soul-warming. The slightly-faded opulence of the second floor room, a stone's throw from Fifth Avenue and Billionaire's Row, is a both unlikely and a perfect fit. Service was friendly, and it was nice to see so many young(er) guests in the room. I look forward to returning.

Food was a huge disappointment. Everything from the rice, to the appetizer, even the kebabs were bland. Service was nice, atmosphere is like being in grandma’s house.

Food was good but not good enough to go back. It took 20min for someone to take our order after trying to get their attention. The servers were all talking together at a corner most of the night. Very poor attention to the guests.
