Got a service charge before receiving any food and drink. Had to chance up for both a menu and food. Food arrived with no cutlery no separate plates no serving spoons and unfriendly staff

Pre-match meal before a Bolton game. The magician was brilliant and really entertaining, a great addition! The singer was good as well. Service was sadly very poor! We waited over 30 minutes for someone to take our order. It was also very expensive. £8 for 6 very small chicken balls, and £8.50 for a few spare ribs as a starter. Salt and pepper chips were basically a small portion of McDonalds fries with some seasoning on top, that cost us £5.50. A chicken stir fry was £12.50 and if you wanted rice or noodles with it, well that was extra. In conclusion, great atmosphere, lovely magician and singer, however, poor service and overpriced food.

Not had Thai food for a while so chose this place as it wasn’t far from the hotel. Booked online and turned up a few minutes early, took and age to be seated despite not being busy. The seating is mostly in booths where the leather/vinyl seats were all cracked and in dire need of replacement. Server too ages to come and take our order. Starters were lovely but the main course (set menu A for two) was disappointing. Green curry was hot (chilli) a bit above my preference! Veg appeared to be cooked from frozen rather than fresh. Pork was barely cooked and almost raw, a health hazard, we avoided it. On pointing this out the server just said Oh! Beer was good and cold and the desserts fine. Seems the love has gone in this kitchen and we thought it expensive for what we got (the one night with breakfast on the Premier Inn was cheaper) disappointed really so won’t be returning. Sorry.

Seated immediately, vast array of drinks including a delicious Tetley bitter which was perfect for me. Staff were extremely attentive and polite. Having never eaten Thai before, this was an exceptional experience. Food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Saw one of the pizzas when I was leaving and it looked amazing.

Our second visit to this restaurant and the food and service were excellent and the portions huge! We actually had to take home a doggy bag as we couldn’t eat everything! The house band and magician were both in residence and were very good however the volume levels of the music were of the scale and made it very hard to hear others at our table. All of our Apple watches warned us that the noise levels at the venue were excessive and would cause hearing loss if we were to stay there for more than 90 minutes which was a bit worrying! This couldn’t stop us coming back but if we did, it would be lovely if the volume levels could be reduced.

Waited an hour for our starters. Main course was a small portion, virtually no beef in the massaman curry. Poor. Wont come again

We went at around 5pm on Saturday. Seems popular with Bolton Wanderers fans on match day so expect a pub atmosphere when a game is on. As for food I think it depends on what you order. I had noodles which were bland and greasy but partners green curry seemed fine. Good live music on match day.

We visited for our group end of season pre game lunch. Table reservation worked and clearly essential at busy times/ events. Service was prompt and efficient, food delivered after a short time, hot , tasty and good value. Victor Haynes resident entertainment was excellent in my opinion however at my age (66) his repertoire hit all the right songs , blues, soul easy listening. We all enjoyed the lunchtime and will not hesitate to revisit with family.

Very tasty food . We booked at 6.30 on a sat night night . They have a singer on who is amazing! This place is not quiet though , it is so busy and it doubles up as a bar so if your wanting a quiet meal would prob pick somewhere else. We really enjoyed though!

First time there and all the family really enjoyed it. Super efficient service and the food was great quality and value for money. The band that was playing were really good and created a great atmosphere. The magician was also a great touch. Really pleased with our experience and will definitely be back and have already recommended it to friends and family.

A service charge was automatically added onto the bill which i personally think is unacceptable. Food was ok and the waitress were nice but wasn’t enough staff on so service was pretty slow!

Food was ok but only that, not exceptional. Music far too loud to be able to talk to each other and the added distraction of a man doing magic walking round the tables. Service was slow and had to wait for cutlery. Also had to ask for the bill twice.

Fist time at Nam Ploy, the food was absolutely delicious, piping hot and served promptly by lovely staff. I could not fault the food, service or venue. I had the salt and pepper ribs and chicken pad Thai and enjoyed every mouth full. Thankyou for an excellent dining experience, I will definitely be visiting again.

Usually this restaurant is wonderful. Usually the artist who sings is a man who creates a lovely atmosphere with his fantastic choice of songs and is a brilliant performer . However , the last time I ate here , the man left early and there was a female performer on . The music was loud ( not a relaxing atmosphere for dining ) some songs inappropriate for the place, and she was dressed in leggings and cropped top !! Not appropriate for Saturday evening dining . I will be checking to see which performer is on next time before I book. Shame because this was the best restaurant in Middlebrook .

We went for a dinner but found it extremely noisy could not hear each other talking , the food came out however my chicken meal was cold so sent it back , when I got it back it was hot however the chicken had an odd taste to it so left it . Explained the issue to the waitress but other than an apology nothing was offered. Also no drinks menu on the tables either .

Best Thai food around we went for lunch but it was on a match day so it was very noisy so if you want a quiet meal go anytime but just avoid match days We have been other times & on Saturday nights when they have had singers on & a magician & they are really good nights we would definitely recommend Nam Ploy cause it’s the best Thai food & you get a really good variety of food on the menu

A really lovely visit. The whole visit was a great experience. Restaurant was lovely, spacious, live singers were great, magician was lovely, food was wonderful and fresh, service was spot on. A really lovely 1st visit - definitely will be back to try other dishes - menu was spoiled for choice

Food was ok but not particularly hot, enjoyed what we had. Service was ok too. Some things were expensive ( the very small bowl of rice and salt and pepper fries ( they weren’t really salt and pepper ) Duck nice and starters tasty. There was a singer and quite loud music so good atmosphere for groups of people. Was greeted at the door when arriving and acknowledged when leaving, a nice touch. Guess I’d go back but probably choose food wisely.

The food and service was excellent and the restaurant had a really good atmosphere. However I did not like that for a table of 4 they added a discretionary service charge to the bill. We did not pay it but did leave a cash tip not much different to the service charge.

This was our first visit to the Namploy since it moved from Chorley Old Road . We were not disappointed. From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt relaxed and welcome. The food was amazing. I had Tom yam soup followed by sea bass. It was divine. We we’ll definitely be returning. There are no negatives. We had a wonderful meal. The service was excellent No complaints

Efficient service reasonably priced with good menu choices catering for all dietary requirements. Was early Sunday evening so quiet when I’ve been there before on Saturday it’s very loud and difficult to hear what everyone in our group was saying.

Booked table for 5 at 6.30, starters came quite quickly but main course didn’t come until 8.15 and was Luke warm. Throughout that time the starter plates weren’t cleared. I have previously been to nam ploy and it’s been excellent so was very disappointed on this occasion

Went for lunch on a match day, awful experience! In addition, food was not good. Thai food is famous for a variety of flavours and fresh ingredients. None of that was there. This was my last visit.

Great variety of meals on the menu. Attentive service from all the staff. Food was excellent with ample portions. Entertainment from the resident magician and solo singer was an added bonus. Definitely a place to visit
