Food as usual is remarkable. Delicious. beautiful presentation of entrees. Due to mother's day, kitchen was busy. Provided free appetizer just for slight delay in food. My go to for Japanese food for special occasions. Dining room - no wait. Teppan Yaki long wait. Just go to dining room. Food is always excellent.

food fantastic as always, very fairly priced, not huge quantities but menu has a great variety of dishes and we left absolutely stuffed. service is really solid. a new favorite of mine!

It has been around for 50 years for a reason. Very high quality and consistent Japanese food - including sushi, sashimi, tempura, cooked fish, noodle dishes, Japanese salads, etc.

We arrived 20 minutes prior to our reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was very nice and also helped out when I asked about vegetarian sushi options. Food arrived no later than a few minutes after ordering and was fresh and warm. We were checked up on multiple times and when we asked for extra sauce or our check it came to our table very quickly. I went for prom dinner but i would definitely go back for another occasion. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. We were seated in the main dining area and it was not a good environment. The bar area was right behind us and was very loud. We couldn’t hear each other. Trying to catch up with old friends and was difficult to have a nice conversation.

We got a private room for 6 and what an amazing experience. Service was outstanding, drinks were great and food truly unbelievable. The best sushi experience outside of Japan.

The yellow tail collar and radish was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The appetizers and dinner were brought at all at once. The spicy tuna roll and miso seafood soup were good. Noise level was off the wall. Prices were ridiculous. Will not return

We are so sorry to hear this and quick frankly, rather surprised. Our Hamachi Collar has been a fan favorite for our guests who love fish collars for decades. We do feel that our prices are fair, especially when taking into account that we only serve the highest quality fish from Japan. We're very sorry you felt differently and hope you reconsider returning to dine with us.

My daughters and I were celebrating college acceptances and the ambiance was perfectly relaxed, conducive to conversation and the food was STELLAR, from the perfectly-prepared-edamame and dumplings to the fresh sushi! The chocolate torte and green tea crème brûlée were dreamy for desserts! (I would return again just to have the green tea crème brûlée; it was delectable). We will definitely return to Nakato when we return to Atlanta!

This was a great experience, the food was great and prepared as ordered. The environment was very nice and not too loud or distracting. The temperature was comfortable and enjoyable as well as the service. Overall a great meal and pleasant dining experience. Would definitely recommend.

Nakato's is one of our FAVORITE restaurant to go to for special occasions. It is unique, has a wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food at a fair price. The waiting staff is unobtrusive yet never disappear on you. Even the valet staff are friendly and attentive. We went for Christmas 2023, and will be returning there to celebrate NY Eve!

Takoyaki was amazing. And the bento was stocked well with everything I could want. Our server was an excellent host. And the drinks were nice and stiff. We will definitely be back.

To be fair, the service and ambient was great but food quality is lower than expected. Wagyu is chewy. Sashimi taste is plain.

We ordered 5he chef selections which were all imports from Japan. It was the best sushi we have ever had. It was fresh and tasted wonderful. It is a bit expensive bit worth ever cent! The waiter was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and recommended a wonerful sake that went perfectly with the meal.

Once again, Nakato knocks it out of the park. The food is always wonderful, and the portions are always surprising in how ample they are. We had a great dinner, accidentally ordered more than we could finish, not realizing the sukiyaki could feed more than one. But the staff kindly packed up our leftovers including the uncooked veggies with some extra sauce so we could cook up the rest at home. We made room for the green tea creme brulee and it topped off a perfect night.

It’s been a number of years since I ate at Nakato Sushi Restaurant. As I expected the sushi was excellent. The service was great. And the young lady hostess, who assured me (when I called and said that I was delayed at the airport and didn’t know when we would arrive), that my table would be ready; was absolutely correct. To the amazing wait staff that worked like a well oiled machine. Made our visit to Nakato excellent.

Things have changed and not for the better. Been a customer for 28 yrs. Prices have skyrocketed recently. My usual entree no longer includes a salad and costs $15 more compared to my last visit. Sashimi is still very good. Noise level was awful. Not the peaceful relaxing place it has been for many years.

There was a birthday party right next door, so kids were screaming and running around at the time, very noisy. The miso soup temperature was a tab colder than the room temperature. The bento box was ok, but definitely overpriced ($50). Sashimi nigiris were good, fish are fresh. The best thing over the entire dinner was the takoyaki, it's hot when served, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall the experience was ok, but very overpriced. I would not recommend.

The two people at my table that I ordered the filet mignon and chicken got very small amounts of chicken and steak. The bowls for the soup had dried food and detergent on the side of them. There was a hair on one person’s salad and the waiter tried to argue about it until he looked again and saw that there was a short black hair in it. It was sitting on the top of meat of the cucumber so it was obvious and he had just set it down. Also, the lettuce in the salads was old. The lobster roll was really small for any type of sushi roll and dry. The food was mediocre. Not really flavorful. Definitely not worth half the price. We were celebrating someone but opted to not even ask for desserts. The Pellagrino was the best part.

I love going out to dinner and sushi is a particular favorite. Bar none, Nakato has the freshest and diverse sushi in Atlanta. They fly in the best sushi from Japan weekly, and the chefs are masters. I’ve gone to nearly every sushi restaurant of merit in the city, and Nakato is the best in Atlanta. The prices are far more reasonable than the trendy sushi restaurants and the quality is higher. One of the top restaurants, Nakato has been operating since 1972. When you go to Nakato, you are experiencing one of the top restaurants in Atlanta. You can go buy sushi or hibachi at many places - none come near the quality and service of Nakato!
