This Cajun soul food spot located in a mini-mall on East 82nd Avenue has earned its legion of superfans. The restaurant is known for its popular seafood boils, po’boys, and fried or blackened seafood (which the restaurant will gladly smother in étouffée sauce); however, the restaurant’s crawfish étouffée —crawfish tail meat swimming in a buttery sauce of onions, peppers, celery, and garlic — is the people’s favorite.

IT SOUNDS ENTIRELY too unlikely to have resulted in anything delicious: Two Vietnamese brothers who grew up in Houston, Texas, open a Creole joint near the corner of SE 82nd Avenue and Division Street, next door to a Chinese restaurant and a “bubble tea” shop. But forsaking My Brother’s Crawfish just because of its out-of-the-way location or its owners’ seemingly tenuous relationship to authentic N’awlins fare would be a mistake. In fact, we can say with little doubt that this modest restaurant offers the best Creole cuisine in town.

We had great service and the food was amazing. The waitress was so kind, and gave us ideas on what to eat and recommend great options.

Terrible service. Waited 40 minutes for a salad. Server didn’t check on us once. Forgot about our alcoholic drink.

Overall it was great- our server was friendly and generally attentive. Food was fantastic, we all loved it and ate every last bite of what we ordered. My two concerns that stopped this from being 5star all around Ordering was not very intuitive. The table had a Q code to scan but the online menu did nothing to explain how ordering went. Initial look might scare people off as it is all based of per pound price, which adds up quickly, and does not mention serving sizes at all. When we started looking over the menu, I thought I was looking at $80-100 plates per person to get the items we wanted. After talking to the table next to us, we figured out how it was priced, then flagged down our server to see about ordering through her instead of the online menu. Second is not really on the restaurant, but that sketchy hallway needs monitoring and clean up. They share bathrooms with the whole strip mall and it was gross back there. At least 1 very drunk patron for a different restaurant giving off creeper vibes, and I am a large former military dude.

We came for our daughter’s 6th birthday. Staff were helpful and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

MBC has the BEST seafood boils! Love all of the crab options, my personal favorite is the King crab. The garlic butter + medium broths mixed is top tier, best flavor I’ve ever had anywhere. When it’s available, the fresh crawfish is to die for! Amazing birthday specials great customer service everyone was SO sweet! Run, do not walk, to get your seafood fix here!

The sauces for the boils were mid as best & everyone in my group got bad stomach aches after. Won’t be back
