Pretty much found this place by accident from the owner to the staff one of the best experiences I’ve had after years of traveling. Highly recommended.

Start with NOBS! Amazing! Daily dozen is always excellent. Whiskey Wednesday is our favorite day. Staff is on the spot and ready to make sure your needs are met. Love this place!

I was so disappointed! We were there back in January. Awesome food, service was amazing. I would have highly recommended it. Now not so much, we waited 2 hours for our meal. Not any of us were impressed! I would not go back!

For being Mother’s Day, the restaurant was not very busy and it took a while for our waitress to attend us. I was also not impressed with the menu.

Went for a Mother's Day lunch with my sisters and mom. Food was absolutely delicious. We went on a Saturday at 1PM with a reservation. It was pretty busy, but not packed. I imagine their dinner is packed. We were planning a lunch, so were surprised when we were given brunch only menus. The food was still delicious, extremely flavorful, good portions, and filling. Their drinks were great also! I will not they do not seat incomplete parties, so make sure everyone is there!

Mud Bugs is a regular for us. It is one of the few restaurants in the area that consistently does everything well. We look forward to seeing the Daily Dozen, which is often a treat. It is a go-to with family and friends, too.

Zoe is great! I love that the patio is pet-friendly. This is my favorite restaurant in Buda (maybe in all of Hays County)!

The redfish was absolutely amazing. I thought it was quite pricey but the flavor was heavenly. Even as leftovers the next day, it was absolutely delicious. My dinner companions tried the shrimp and grits - which she really enjoyed, and the taterfish - which she thought was just okay. We also tried the brussel sprouts which were flavorful but I like them crisper. The serving size is huge! The cobbler was not the best, but it's possible it was because we took it to go and I ate it later in the evening. Not sure if if would have been better fresh out of the oven with ice cream. Our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. Making a reservation with Open Table didn't really work to get us a table on time. We still had to wait until a table cleared before we were seated, maybe 20 minutes or so at 7pm on a Friday night. Overall, to be completely honest, some of the menu items we chose were hit or miss but I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely go back.

Celebrated a birthday and the staff and manager were incredible. We were worried having 4 kids but they were taken care of above and beyond and the food was incredible - best shrimp and grits ever! Thank you for helping create a beautiful memory!

I would love to say we had a great experience… We’ve been here a few times previously-food and service have been good, so we like to support a local business. Our recent brunch experience however was really not great-service was bordering poor and the food was eh at best. Server took our drink order and then didn’t bring them for almost 20 minutes. Ordering our main course got a bit tense when I asked for a modification and settling our bill got complicated when I showed our server an email gift certificate we were using. Brunch can be busy and the weather was bad that day-hoping it was just a one-off, but we just didn’t have a great time.

Food is always great. Ambience is going downhill. Hostess could not be bothered to smile. Waitress who wasn’t our waitress couldn’t be bothered to assist her coworker to bring the salt we requested. Noise level is way too high, can’t hear the person next to you. The latter is not knew, remains annoying nevertheless. Weather was not conducive to sit outside as what i remember we did last time we were therr.

We received water from a server once we arrived at a table, but then waited about 25 minutes for a waiter to come take our drink/appetizer order. He offered us a free dessert for our wait. I ordered the Butterboy steak medium rare and the underside of it was charred. Otherwise the sides were very good.

Dined on the deck around 8pm; it was lovely and quiet enough for conversation. Service was absolutely excellent! An out of town guest had multiple dietary issues and our server brought multiple options to our table to accommodate her. And the shrimp and grits (our favorite item on their menu) was delicious, as always.

This was my fifth time to dine at Mudbugs. Compared to my previous four outings I was very disappointed with the slow service, food preparation, wine selections and overall ambiance our party of four experienced. They will need to up their game a bit if they want to get my business again.

It’s hard to find good Cajun food in Austin area. Mudbugs in Buda was great! We sat outside as the inside was pretty loud and the weather was awesome. I ordered the steak. I asked for it medium rare and it came out medium/medium well which was disappointing, but the augratin potatoes and the calamari made up for it. The drinks were spectacular! We will be returning so I can try the shrimp and grits.

Ryland was an amazing server. Our food was great. No words to describe the calamari. Best in the area! The trout special was incredible. Beautiful patio. Perfect dining experience!

Typically Mud Bugs is awesome. And last night most things were great, the drink were spot on as they always are. But I ordered the short ribs, and the meat was delicious but them pasta was way undercooked. Pasta does not need a crunch to it.

The steak came with au gratin potatoes according to the menu. When the dish came out it only had fries. The dish was chosen for the potatoes. The restaurant had to “verify” this error and gave another side as an option. All ok, except that another dish option would have been made instead. Some compensation for their own error would not have been needed, but appreciated.

We had a table of 7 on 2/24 for dinner, and it was not a good experience. Service - was the low of the experience. We felt like an annoyance to the server from the moment we sat down. She seemed in a rush to get through our seating, there was nothing warm or hospitable about the service experience. Food - it was timely but there was a lot of confusion when we received our food. The menu reads as a starch + seasonal veg with the entrees. We were confused when we received our plates because we received one of the sides. We had to stop someone (not our server) to ask why, the server said the menu does not read correctly and it’s confusing to all, the entrees read as a starch and veg but you’re only supposed get one and pick. Even though that’s not how the menu reads. Very deceiving. Everyone’s food tasted fine, but I orders a center cut filet med rare and received it just short of well done. I mentioned it to the server because it was worth mentioning on a $40 steak. It was breezed over, as was everything else. We’ve eaten here once before maybe a year ago and it was a great experience, it was pretty poor this time around. In the reservation it ask if you are coming for a special occasion, sours was 28th wedding anniversary, which I put in the reservation. No attempt was made to acknowledge this, seemed like a missed opportunity.

Made a reservation for 12:00pm for 7, we checked in at that time everyone in the party was present. We were told 15-20 min wait.. ok that was all good. We waited and waited, people checked in after us and sat before us. Several tables were vacant (4 tops) and no effort was made to seat us, just others that checked in after us were seated. At 12:45 we asked the status, he said another 5mins even though several tables were open. We asked if they could be put together, he said no we already have a table put together we just have to wait till that party left. We walked by that table and they had just been given there food, no way it would be 5 mins. We witnessed tables being pulled apart after other parties left, and no effort to seat our party. We left at that time. This was our first time at Mud Bugs, 7 people left thoroughly disappointed and hungry.
