A Family Tradition For Over 80 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

    Our waitress was excellent and very attentive & helpful. The food was great and plenty of it! She even gave us a free dessert (included in the chicken dinner)!

    For the first weekend it was good. Would be nice to see a chicken n waffle option and an expansion of the adult beverage menu. Service was great, still learning the menu, but all was great. Need an expansion of some boysenberry items, it's literally your bread and butter.

    This is the first time I dined after the restaurant remodeled the dining room and added a bar too! The food is still good, but more expensive. Parking is free for an hour, but can be expensive if you stay longer. If you go on their website, you can make reservations.

    It's best to have a reservation going in. Otherwise, there is a wait. The food is excellent and worth the drive. Come hungry because the portion of food is plenty. Be sure to park in the metored parking lot so you can get your parking ticket validated before you leave the restaurant.

    The food was disappointing. Ordered fried chicken meal. Nothing was as expected. The chicken tasted as if had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour.

    Our server was great! It was a little too dark for my 88 year old mother, she couldn’t see the menu. Food was delicious except for the cabbage and ham, couldn’t see the ham lol.

    It was my wife’s first time and she thinks it was one of her best meals ever. Service was beyond friendly, food value worth it every dollar. We loved our Sunday date

    It was wonderful but I was disappointed that the three piece classic chicken meal did not include a piece of pie. But the jam with the biscuits almost made up for it.
