A lively piano bar, jazz lounge, and late-night destination with a theatrical spin, Mr. Wanderlust celebrates the globetrotting life of its eccentric namesake, a fictional adventurer whose collection of books, artifacts — and cocktail recipes — reflect his eclectic tastes. The menu features drinks fashioned by cocktail masters from around the world, many of whom make guest appearances at Mr. Wanderlust throughout the year. Enjoy playful yet composed dishes created by acclaimed LA chef Richard Archuleta while perusing the idiosyncratic mementos and photographs collected by Mr. Wanderlust on his travels. Live music, DJ sets, and surprising performances keep you entertained late into the night.

Reservations are recommended, however, walk-ins are accepted nightly based on availability.

I made an appointment on open table due to a birthday of which we drove far. When we arrived they said open table is just to get into wanderlust and not hold a table for dinner. Very disappointed. It was my brothers birthday. I've been here previously and didn't have a problem. I'm not sure what is going on.

Don’t make a reservation on Open Table thinking you are getting a table. This reservation is only for the entrance. Makes sense? No. Do they say this? No. But now you know. Also be prepared to be bulled for your spirit of choice separately from your drink price. We are a little confused. Music was amazing and service is top notch. Overall a good time but they could have done a better job at informing the patron properly.

Unfortunately was not told until arriving at establishment that my reservation was not valid as they no longer taking bookings through open table to then being told we would need to pay extra for the experience or sit at bar in a different room. Drinks for that situation wasn’t worth the overpriced cocktails and items on menu.

I booked a reservation through Open Table on Valentines Day thinking what a cute intimate lounge for us to dine at. Got there 15 mins before my reservation time. Was required to have a 200.00 minimum to get a table. They said my open table reservation was for entry to Mr.Waunderlust not a table. I find this to be the bait and switch type of deal. Would have loved to stay and check out the venue more but my partner and I were put off by the basic food and prices. I wanted to try the caviar, but saw nothing appetizing to pair with. I ended up getting chicken that was fried and truffle fries which were good but over cooked. I was starving so I didn't send them back and only ate half. My partner wanted the pizza but thank God the waitress let us know it was not a traditional pizza, so he got the Philly Cheese. It was good, a bit salty but we didn't mind due to us drinking. Overall we had a Meh experience. Staff was excellent, drinks were good, food was a hard pass... Eat before you come.

The ambiance was nice, clean and comfortable. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We only got the truffle fries, but they were very good. The drinks were good. A little pricey and came with the included 18% gratuity. But it's in LA so it was expected, so no big deal. The only problem was our reservations were for 615 and the entertainment didn't start until 730. The guy comes out on the piano plays 3 songs and stops. Then another show starts at 830. So the lack of entertainment was the only complaint about the evening. But we still had a good time.

We had a reservation and were seated in the back corner where you could not see the piano bar performer. The drinks were great but the truffle parm fries overcooked. Would have stayed longer than an hour if we had a better seat to enjoy the entertainment

Table was behind a pillar. Two out of the three dishes were outstanding, but the truffle sashimi was disappointing and overpriced. Vibe was cool, but would have been better if we could have seen the performances.

Love this lively very dark lit jazz joint. The snacks were loaded with fun! My spouse and I had an awesome couch which was perfect to watch the loud pianist who sang. It was the extravagance of the revolving piano stage and the spiraling dame in the ball that made it mythical. Good times! Great expensive date night. We had FUN!

We arrived with a reservation, but after being seated, we waited at least 30 minutes before anyone come to take our order or check on us. Apparently the opening server was late to arrive to work. No apology and no attempt to rectify the situation by our server once she did arrive. The server even had the audacity to ask for an additional tip on top of an 18% service charge. The only reason this isn’t a one star rating is because of the hostesses who were great and very apologetic. They encouraged us to talk to the manager who did provide some free drink vouchers to entice us back, which was very kind.

We didn’t order any food items, but the drinks were great for us. Our bartender had great recommendations, we tried Spanish fly, moulin rouge, passionate affair, and a white wine. Moulin rouge was a personal favorite for the night! Ambiance was amazing, dim lighting, everyone is doing their own thing and great dj. We enjoyed our time here!

I’ve dined here multiple times and never experienced so much confusion. Last night was my birthday and by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at this space. I made a reservation for 8:45, I arrived early, only to be told that the reservation was for bar entrance only, not for an actual table. Never heard this before last night and I’ve been here at least five times before. The menu options were very limited and they ran out of the few options that were listed. Oh, and the valet is a whole other story.

8 of us went for drinks before dinner at Maison Kasai. In the hour there we were able to get 1 drink. The bar wasn't busy so I'm not sure what the issue was other than being understaffed. I'll go back because the atmosphere is great, but with a tempered expectation of how soon, and how often we'd be able to get a drink. Most likely we'll sit at the bar.

The place is quaint. Nice night atmosphere. I was expecting a show and music after reviewing the website and ended up in a small room with music on the sound system. The waitress was nice. The drink I wanted was sold out after 1 hour of opening so was disappointed. They didn’t have any semi sweet red wine and ordered the shrimp cocktail which was 4 shrimp for $30. It was an interesting start to my birthday to say the least. We left in under 2 hours.

We made a reservation, but it didn’t actually give us a table. It just let us in, and then the host told us it was first come for the actual tables. That was a little disappointing since I assumed a reservation guaranteed a table. Also, there wasn’t as much entertainment as I had expected. It really was just a bar/club vibe with entertainment every once in a while.

We made a reservation two weeks in advance and were on time when arriving. The hostess asked us to sit down in the waiting area and we’d be seated soon. 20 minutes went by and I went up to ask when we’d be seated. They acted like they hadn’t been aware that we were there (sitting literally next to the hostess stand) and said there were no tables but we could go to the bar and they’d seat us at the first spot to open. We stood at the bar and had one mediocre, over priced drink then left ~30 mins later as no one seated us or even came to acknowledge us.

Customer service was horrible I made reservations and my table was given away , Management was rude . Place was extremely small and deceitfully advertised. When I was finally seated no server came to take order. I immediately left complete waste of time stay away from this unprofessional amateur circus bar. Customer service is an experience and it shows they have little interest in making sure this establishment succeeds & grows… @ceofiftyfoe

The ambiance is amazing, but know that there isn’t really food just bar bites. The bar bites are good but expensive for the small size. You get a mini burger for the same price as a regular full size burger somewhere else ($23 per mini burger). The cocktails are good and a decent size. The entertainment is terrific but the place overall is very dark. Like nightclub dark.

Ambience was really good, unfortunately the service and staff didn’t match. When we arrived the host/hostess made us feel as though we were a bother to them. Upon sitting we ordered drinks and food. Appetizers showed up in 20 minutes within ordering, although the drinks never showed up. I walked over to the waitress and inquired about our cocktails and her answer was that they hadn’t made them yet. That was 45 minutes after ordering the drinks. Once again I got the; I don’t really care attitude. At this point I had the drinks cancelled, paid the bill for appetizers, and then left the establishment. I will not be going back again. Hope this helps you address the issue with the entire staff as it seemed to be the demeanor of all the employees. Hope this helps and have a wonderful day.

Was staying at the hotel for the entire weekend, made a reservation for our anniversary TWO WEEKS AGO and the hostess gave away our table to someone else. What’s amazing is the open table app shows you their bill. Hostess was the most rude and unhelpful person ever. We ended up having to leave, find another restaurant (again, on our anniversary), because she wouldn’t seat us. I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager (which she clearly wasn’t). Horrible experience, all gimmick and no substance.

This was my favorite spot at Level 8. I enjoyed the music, burlesque, vibe and I came for the jazz performances. The staff were friendly too. We were also able to find a spot to sit.

This place has a lot of potential but the service needs to be improved. We waited over 30min at a table to get 1 drink brought to us and it took another 20min to close our bill as there was only one waitress on a packed Friday night. We went again on a Saturday and it was the same thing - packed and lively but with not enough bartenders or waitress to keep up. Multiple restaurants have patrons wait here before their meal and it takes a very long time to get served, pay your bill or get information on when your table for dinner will be ready.

Mr. Wanderlust has a lot of potential to be an excellent speakeasy experience. We were there for nearly two hours on a Friday night and didn’t witness any LIVE performances which was disappointing. There was a language barrier with our waiter which made him somewhat defensive. However, the drinks, food, and ambience were superb! I will give it another go.

We had reservations, but told we could just go to the bar. When I told him that we specifically requested a table, he immediately said “ This is escalating quickly, let me get a manager” I was shocked that he would say this. My gf and I were very confused. Soon after, we got a table, ordered some drinks. And then the lights went out! Scary!

It was okay. We felt rushed by the servers. Everyone was nice but not really paying attention to us and it seemed like they wanted us to drink up and leave. Didn’t feel relaxed or able to enjoy.

We thought we had reserved a restaurant. Walked in to a crowded bar. There was seating, I asked if we could get a table and was told that I had to spend a minimum of $1,000 in order to get a table and to check with the front. I’m ok. Expensive drinks. I have paid $22 dollars for a cocktail but with alcohol in it. I was served a cup full of ice with a pretty plant on top. Piano guy behind the bar was pretty cool. That’s the only reason we stayed until he finished and left.

Went to check in and host said “what are you talking about, it’s first come / first serve”. Makes no sense - why did I have to reserve for table and have discussions with them about it beforehand .. only to be told that place is small and cramp. There was no music playing. Boring . Left after 3min
