Mr. Tipple’s heralds back to a 1950s NYC basement. Cozy. Dark. Boozy. The intimate setting features local jazz artists up close and personal. It’s a joint where you come as you are, hear great music, tap your toes, and sip a properly chilled cocktail.

My name is Mr. Tipple. Just a simple and laughable bloke hailing from London. I run a recording studio. My friends joke that you’ll oft find me spinning cocktails, not reeling tape. After a few too many, I usually just sit back and enjoy the music, having forgotten to hit record. Regardless, the band is always jiving, the whiskey is always cold, and we’re having a smashing good time.

Incredible time! The bartender was especially great -- fantastic drinks and service, and the jazz was amazing. Highly recommend.

My primary interest is the music. I do my best to order and arrive early enough to get a seat by the bandstand. This minimizes distractions from the rest of the audience. Since I arrive after having had dinner, I limit myself to the chocolate mousse dessert, which I always enjoy! Mostly, however, I am there to focus on the music with as few distractions as possible. My only shortcoming is that any effort to arrange for electronic mail announcements of future programs always seems to be short-lived (if it exists at all)!

This beautiful intimate jazz club has an old school ambiance, great acoustics and a warm staff. Cocktails were excellent. I love the schedule with 4 1 hour and a half sessions and 2 different artists per night. Inexpensive tix. . You can order food which looked great. We had eaten before can came for the music and cocktails after dinner. Will definitely be back.

We will be back for sure. Acoustically for the music are outstanding, very pleasant atmosphere , food good and reasonable plus great service.

This intimate venue provided a perfect setting for drinks and a light meal. The jazz went way beyond expectation. The Charles Unger Experience performance was some of the best live jazz I’ve ever heard. The entire group was fantastic but Mr. Unger is a master saxophonist. This was a rare treat!!
