Very disappointed with my experience at Moxies on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. We arrived at 11:15 a.m.; the downstairs area was closed. I do not like the upstairs bar vibe. The hostess took the guest that was in line ahead of us upstairs, which was quite inefficient. Since we all had to go upstairs anyway, why didn’t she say, “everyone follow me?” We waited downstairs for 5 minutes before deciding to go upstairs, since the hostess never returned. There was no one at the bar to serve us. We waited 12 minutes before anyone arrived. The bartender finally arrived. They catered more to the White male customers, who never had to wait. While making my drink, the bartender stopped to go over to the area at the bar where the men were seated, as my drink, that I wanted stirred vs. shaken, sat on ice for an unusual period of time. This was the worst bar vibe and atmosphere I’d ever experienced at Moxie's. Not a great practice for a restaurant to ask what liquor you prefer, then charge an up charge if it isn’t bar alcohol, without your knowledge. I’m ok paying whatever the cost. However, don’t nickel and dime me…everything $2 “mo.” Just bill me the $20 for my drink versus putting on my bill $18 + $2 more for Hendricks Gin. $1 more for truffle dip for my sweet potato fries. That behavior is totally unacceptable. The food is ok. Very inconsistent. Never hot. Drinks are expensive, yet I feel no buzz unless I pay more for better quality alcohol. I do agree with the reviewer who stated: “Passive racism at its finest.” I have observed the passive racism, although my party is usually a mixed group, During lunch, I’m always given paper napkins, as my White male counterparts are given cloth napkins. This has happened every time I visited. I do not dine at restaurants, especially at Moxies’ price range, that provide paper napkins. Better service, professionalism and consistency to all patrons would be amazing.

The fact that you have to walk up three flights of stairs to get to your table is already an issue. Then I’ll be able to sit in a restaurant and talking to you my date. I have the loud obnoxious tables full of people around me just yucking it up. I can’t hear myself think on top of the loud booming music. Nothing was memorable event was totally forgettable. If you want to have a disco check dinner, this is your place but if you have somebody that you’re trying to woo this place and a real restaurant real ambience This is basically a nightclub posing as a restaurant The food was meh, the servers remind me of Hooters instead of a classy restaurant. I would’ve never made this choice. Had I known beforehand

The wait staff was more worried about how they looked and socializing with other employees than the paying customers. You could tell they didn’t know or care about the food, probably due to immaturity or inexperience in working at a restaurant.

The food was so bad today. Fries were horrible. I’ve never had a bad Egg Benedict. The sangria was WATER. The millionaire margarita which is supposed to be a premium cocktail was SOUR. My husbands tacos were just tortilla. Everything was bad. The only thing good was the Guinness & that’s from a bottle. The ambiance was a bit low not too sure why but I wouldn’t suggest doing brunch here.
