We began the journey of Bar Far Far Away back in 2020 creating private reservations for an intergalactic escape we all needed. We returned again the following year with planetary travels to the forests of Endor & hot sands of Tatooine. It is with that history we return in tribute bar form with a menu of creative cocktails served in the iconic character tikis surrounded by art, the movies & photo ops. So grab your fellow rebels or officers & take a seat at the cantina bar, where smugglers and scoundrels gather to swap tales of daring escapades. We went for Mother’s Day brunch. Overall the food was okay, their could have been more seasonings, the drinks were pretty good. My issue comes with the booking process and service. We originally booked for 3 guests, we did try to expand to 4, knowing that we would be sat at a table that could accommodate 4, we were told no. We arrived, and did want to switch to another table that wasn’t as close to the door/walkway, and again were told no, despite being the same table/area. I think this restaurant can be more accommodating to customers. Lastly, I asked multiple times for updates to our bill. We were charged extra for sangria, when it should’ve been included in our deal. I explained this, and didn’t want to keep asking the server to change the bill.

As always, such great service! They were so kind to my family who had never been to Movida before. Food came out pipping hot and quick. Such a great value for the price too! Will definitely be back

We had a reservation but they still made us wait over an hour before we were seated! We were not compensated at all for this.

We had a reservation and weren’t able to be seated until almost an hour after our reservation time which is completely unacceptable with no front of house manager involvement. It didn’t even seem like the front of house even cared that we were getting to an hour past our reservation time, just kept getting the excuse about it will be ready in 10 more minutes. There were also empty tables that could have been seated or combined to accommodate. The bartender and server upstairs were very kind and tried to make the experience better, we appreciate you two! Food was mediocre, the meatballs came out cold in the middle. Service was good once we were able to get a table. This was supposed to be a lovely dinner after my graduation. This was not a special experience that it should have been to celebrate a graduation. Restaurant downstairs was also extremely loud and unpleasant. We are also all food service workers and understand being busy, but this was completely unacceptable. We will not be back.

Had the best brunch here! From start to finish everything was amazing. The new addition is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to come back and check out the new outdoor patio. The service was great as was the food and drinks. Great place to have brunch with your friends. Highly recommend!!

I have been chasing a perfectly delicious and affordable tapas experience in Milwaukee for years. I really thought Movida was going to deliver with their unlimited tapas offer, however the experience was unfortunate to say the least. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy, however we had made a reservation beforehand so we expected to be sat quickly, but we were told due to the amount of walk-ins that our table wasn’t ready (what’s the point of a reservation then?) Their solution was to sit us in the smallest corner, right next to the kitchen, terrible seating and unacceptable with the wait. We were sat else where thankfully. Our server was fairly new, she tried her best, but we didn’t get the attention and service we needed for us to really take advantage of the dining experience. We didn’t receive some dishes. We never saw our server. The food runners dropped dishes, never explained the dish or named it, the wrong food was brought to our table on several occasions. The cherry on top was the 30 minute wait for our bottle of wine. Twice. Our server wasn’t trained to open a bottle of wine so the manager demonstrated. Totally fine. However, the second bottle was partially opened away from the table, and then brought to us. Seems silly. Finally, towards the end of our meal we realized we had been brought the wrong bottles. The manager was kind enough to remove them from our bill, but with the wait, weird service, and the wrong bottles. It was not a good experience for us. I do not know if we’ll be visiting again. We did enjoy our wine (although it wasn’t what we ordered) and our cocktails. I wish we had gotten to try more of the food too.

loved our server (Taylor). Upstairs is VERY loud; downstairs is much quieter. Paella was tasty but rice wasn't crisp which is essential for good paella. Churros were touch and had way too much sugar on them.

Upon entering with a 7:15pm they were very busy and had two hostesses with a tablet that seemed to be very confused with the software they also seemed extremely frustrated. I had been to the restaurant back in October of 2023 and were seated on the outdoor patio it was an amazing experience. Since then they had done renovations and the inside of the building was completely different. I loved the decor but it was incredibly loud and almost impossible to share a good conversation with the person I was there with. The server was very nice and the food was great as it was the last time. I think if they can make the arrival much smoother and some how add some finishes to absorb more of the sounds it would be great.

Worst experience my wife & I have ever had here, and we've been going as long as I can remember. This was our first time going since renovations/getting rid of their unique patio, which was a huge bummer. Ambiance wise it's very meh from the old days before they renovated. Just very generic. This was by far the least of the terrible time we had. We had a 7pm reso & the hostess was very non-communicative & seemed like a deer in headlights. It took her 10 or so mins to figure out where to seat us, which they sat us in the main dining room. This was confusing as we thought we had booked the "star wars experience". We did this in the past & it was a great time (prior to their remodel). The hostess told us there really isn't one anymore and they have star wars decor set-up in their bar & that they only serve drinks in that area. Very confusing. We sat & waited to be greated by our server for approx. 15-mins before she stopped by. At that point, while waiting and waiting, I went by the bar & a different hostess that seemed to be working that area of the restaurant said we could sit at the 2 available seats at the bar AND order food there. She said she would quick bus/clean it off for us, which was nice, but she never did and forgot... So we sat and waited for another 15-mins at the bar without as much as a "hi, I'll be right with you" from one of the several bartenders. Not even eye contact. Nothing. By this time it was about 7:41pm and we walked out completely appalled. I will say, it also seemed like they were over booked. They had 2 tops seated right by the front door/host stand and the line at the host stand was bleeding into their personal space. Every time we talked to a hostess through ought this experience there was basicaly zero communication, almost like we were speaking a different language. It was truly odd. We luckily went to another well known/nearby tapas resturant and ended up having a great experience. Sadly, Movida is not what it once was and I can'

Despite arriving 5 minutes early for our 7 PM reservation, we weren't seated until 7:35, which was frustrating. However, the manager kindly discounted some items from our final bill to make up for the inconvenience. While the hostess seemed a bit indifferent, our waitress was friendly during the limited interactions we had with her. The food was excellent and came out quickly.

Food was delicious and prompt! Service was wonderful! Ambiance is nice. I like the new vibe and expansion. However, I’m feeling a way about the backyard patio (with the rugs!) being removed…sad about that 😔

The food and service were fabulous. But the new Dining room is SO LOUD. My Apple Watch warned me several times that the noise level was >80 decibels. Previous experiences (old dining room & patio) did not have this issue.

It was our anniversary and unfortunately, even though we had been seated to our table fairly quickly, we waited 38 minutes to even get water. This is even after requesting a server come to the table twice. It took threatening to walk out in order to get any service. It’s a shame, the restaurant used to be superb. We had reserved a patio seat, come to find out the patio wasn’t being seated, yet we hadn’t been notified. Once served, the staff was extremely kind, and ultimately compt our meal, but I wish it hadn’t come to that.

Went here on an anniversary date and was deciding between here and a steak house down the block. Caved to my girlfriend and chose here because they had grilled steak and chimichurri on the menu. Ordered it only for the server to come back 10 minutes later and say they ran out at 7pm on a Sunday. Very upsetting as we ordered zucchini and potatoes to go alongside our steak. Completely changed our meal and was not satisfied on how staff didn’t seem to even want to make it right by something else. How do you run out of a popular item like that as soon as the night starts!

Overall, I’d say we were disappointed. We had heard so many good things about Movida. It was very loud, so loud it was hard to carry on a conversation. We just did the tapas so I don’t know how the paella was, but there was entirely too much bread. Almost every tapa was on thick bread. I’m afraid we won’t be back.

Great food and quick service. But the private party upstairs had blaring music playing, which made it almost impossible to have a conversation. Maybe close the restaurant the next time there is a private party. Appreciated the manager correcting the bill for us which the server had made some errors on.

Happy hour tapas are available at the table 4-6. We ordered two of the paellas that "serve 1-2" as a group of 4 and could have easily just ordered one. Both were delicious. Great service from our waiter AJ and all the staff that ran food and drinks to our table.

Came in for regular menu items but was not disappointed with their brunch menu - so filling and worth the price! There was only one server on a Sunday noon and service was a little slow but our she was great! FYI 18% service charge is included in your bill and ADDITIONAL gratuity is suggested - 100% of this additional gratuity amount goes to the servers.

We had a reservation for dinner at Movida. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately however it took 20 min before anyone even came close to our table to offer water or take a drink order. This was a bit frustrating however when the waiter did come he was very apologetic and then comped a round of drinks and an app. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced! We have dined here before the renovation and I love that they have more room but miss the ambiance of the old restaurant. But overall it is always a wonderful experience with great food!

The paella was exceptional, the mimosas and sangria were excellent, the amount of food was unbelievable. The brunch at Movida is one of the best bargains in the city. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they do.

The venue remodeled, it looks nice, but the menu is completely different and now is just more of the same (no tapas). Food took 45 mins to come out

Food was very good. Service was not very good at all. They completely forgot to place our order and after 40 minutes we got our food. Gave us two free desserts as a means of apology. I believe the prices were quite high for what was served. Likely will not go back.
