Roll-Your-Own Sushi Making Class at Moonraker

Meet us at our rooftop hideaway for an intimate sushi making class led by Moonraker’s very own, Chef Marcia Lozada. Guests will be welcomed with sake to start, then will be guided through the step-by-step process of making a Tuna Roll, Veggie Roll and Gyoza. The class will conclude on a sweet note with instruction on how to put the finishing touches on Moonraker’s famed Matcha Profiteroles. 21+ event. A server seemed to disappear majority of our time there and we eventually ended up working with a different server towards the end. Our food and drinks were delayed. Overall it was okay, just wish we had a better experience for the amount of money being spent.

We were very excited to try Moonraker for a celebratory birthday evening; unfortunately, it left much to be desired. Shortly after we arrived at our table, we unfortunately overheard our waitress complain about us being seated in her section to a fellow guest sitting nearby, as she was nearing the end of her shift. While she did stop by to let us know she transferred our tab to the bar, we had difficulties receiving service for the remainder of the evening. For some reason, the bartender refused to take our order at the bar and asserted we had to wait for a server to come to our table outside, which did not happened. Despite having empty glasses, no one approached our table to ask if we wanted another round. After a second time trying to order another drink at the bar, we gave up and tried to enjoy the stunning rooftop view. We eventually flagged down the hostess to ask if there was a server available; she was very helpful, but ended up sending us to the bar to order?! We were shocked by the lack of organization, at a Pendry hotel no less, as the oblivious staff acted like we did not exist--especially considering we were attempting to order another round of cocktails. We were excited to try Moonraker, but will likely not return. We had a reservation for this weekend to take a family member, who is visiting DC, and made sure to cancel. We would rather take guests to a place with quality service.

This was my second experience at Moonraker. The food was spectacular. The service provided by Shayna was amazing. Unfortunately I have an allergy to sesame seeds, however Shayna went above and beyond to help me pick a small bite that would meet my dietary needs. I will definitely be back.

Food, scenery, ambiance were all A+. Shockingly it’s difficult to find even decent sushi in DC (Coming from California, where there’s amazing sushi everywhere)… The sushi at Moonraker was delicious!

I have been here before and it was great, but they seated everyone away from the water. The entire reason I came was to sit with a nice view of the water. SO DISAPPOINTING. Also, there seemed to be confusion over whether you were even open. Disappointing all the way around.

Always a phenomenal time at Moonraker. Probably the best views on the wharf. The cocktails are perfectly mixed and the food delicious! I also appreciate the food portions are good size, great to share a few items with your friends.
