This is one of my families‘s favorite restaurants. The food is so fresh, so flavorful, and so authentically Nepalese. it is a family owned and run restaurant and the service is friendly and excellent. It feels like we are in Nepal enjoying a home-cooked meal. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!

A hidden gem in HMB. While the Coast was packed with traffic on a rare warm and sunny day, we veered off route 1 to visit this great lil spot, tucked away in a mini mall off Main Street. Inside, the restaurant is decorated with prayer flags crisscrossing overhead and permeates with the aroma of familiar Indian spices. If you have never had Nepalese cuisine, it is much like food from India (tandoori, curries, etc), with a regional spin. We ordered palak paneer, tandoori salmon, fried rice dish and goat stew (there were 4 of us). All were delicious and the service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We’re so glad we found a new local favorite!

We thoroughly enjoyed the home made food here. My husband really liked the Tandoori chicken. The tamarind sauce was especially good. The desserts were enjoyable. I had cream whipped with lemon that in the UK we call syllabub. My husband had a cheescake. If you want gifts from Nepal there are lovely pashminas, necklaces, CDs, prayer wheels and more to buy.

Have been here several times and it does not disappoint. Really appreciate that you can specify how spicy you want it. Our vegan friend loves the vegetarian combo plate. Be sure to try the Himalayan Blast for dessert if you love lemons.

Monsoon offers a great menu. I enjoy every vegetarian dish on the menu. Came here to celebrate a birthday and was surprised by an amazingly tasty Indian dessert. Monsoon is among my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area.

This was our first time to the restaurant and we went with out of town friends who have lived years in Nepal so they were very knowledgeable of Himalayan cuisine. Our friends had the traditional meal, while my wife had butter chicken and I had the shrimp vindaloo. We also had naan, roti and momo dumplings, which were perfect. We were all very pleased with the food and the portions were such that there was more than expected to take home as well. The only thing that didn't seem authentic to our friends was the roti. We will definitely be going back there.

We arrived an hour early as our kid was pretty hungry. Nevertheless, the table was ready for us. The restaurant is understaffed yet their warm personality made this up as we didn't have to wait that long. The dishes were excellent as we could sense that they were authentic as we are pretty foodie junkies. The kid enjoyed some of the dishes as it was his first time trying even though they were spicy for his taste. The mango lassi made this up for his raging tongue though. He mentioned that the lassi was one of the best he ever had as he could taste the real mango inside. We definitely will come back here if we ever visit HMB sometimes to try out the other Nepalese dishes. Oh, the vegetarian momos were great as well. Very similar to the ones I had in Tibet almost 20 years ago!

I liked the menu selections; the staff was welcoming and helpful and the location was easy to find. I felt the menu was priced about right and the food was good. So, there is not anything negative to comment on ... we will return next time we are in town.

The main issue was the slow service. It took an hour and a quarter for our food to arrive. We had a 7:30 reservation and food did not arrive until 8:45. This was really late to eat and my husband could not sleep after eating so later.

Pretty good, the food needed a bit of salt. It was surprisingly lacking in flavor considering how many spices they put in. The waitress came over and accused me of not liking one of the dishes because I hadn’t eaten much of it yet which was kind of stressful and weird. But overall the vibe was great and the food was good especially the garlic naan!

The food at this restaurant is absolutely outstanding! Everything is very fresh and tasty. Everything that we ordered was exceptional, especially the Momos! This family owned restaurant makes you feel at home when you are there. Definitely a must stop for us when we visit Half Moon Bay.

I've eaten here many times. Whenever I make it over to the HMB, I will stop in. The food is always excellent. This is one of my favorite dining spots in San Mateo County. I cannot comment on the meat or seafood dishes, but if you're a vegetarian who enjoys the robust and dynamic flavors of the Himalayan and Indian cuisine , you love this restaurant.

This by far was the most incredibly delicious and authentic Nepalese/Indian food I've dined on. The flavors were wonderful and the variety available was such a treat. The service was excellent and so friendly! Will definitely be returning agwhen visiting Half Moon Bay.

After eating at Monsoon Himalayan Cuisine, I feel like I’ve discovered a little gem! My wife and I had the Himalayan fish curry and the vegetarian combo meal and both were suburb with lots of flavor. An added bonus is the meals are reasonably priced.

We booked table for 7pm, were at time. No tables. Wait for 30 minutes, no tables. Why do you offer reservations if it doesn’t work? Having little baby we can’t afford to wait more, this is the whole thing why we are doing reservations

I love Goat and I noticed it is a specialty on their menu. Frankly, I was a little disappointed thought the serving size was generous. We had the goat cheese mango salad dressing and it was quite refreshing. Nan bread was excellent, piping hot out of the oven. One of the best that I have had. Their white rice is Basmati , which I love. My son ordered Chicken Fried Rice and they used Basmati. This is the first time that I have had Fried Rice using Basmati, interesting texture and flavor. We also ordered Wild Salmon Currey. I don't know how many Wild Salmon are in the waters in Nepal.

The food was amazing and everything about the place from staff, ambience and food was authentically Nepalese. Highly recommend it.

We had no expectations whatsoever when we wanted to try something new in Half Moon Bay for our anniversary, and decided to try Monsoon Himalayan and LOVED it! The food was wonderful, although they were close to closing they were very courteous and lovely. We've just reserved to go back there this evening and look forward to the onion naan and shrimp biryiani!
