Truly horrible experience. I booked to sit and the bar for the full experience but they didn’t let us sit makes no sense I booked the bar but they told me it was open and that the head chef is cleaning up. Dummest thing I’ve ever seen don’t recommend at all……

Overpriced. 95 dollars for the cheapest option seem too much. Ended up paying 225 dollars for 15 pieces of sushi each. Food was good but they need to offer more variety than just 2 options. Not everybody likes the more extravagant nagiris. Not going back.

This is the worst restaurant in NYC. The reviews which I failed to completely review myself are FALSE and MISLEADING. When I walked into the restaurant and it was empty at 7:30 PM, we should have realized that some was amiss. Not only something, but everything. We should have left, and gone to one of 50 places we passed on the way from the subway. This place is BYOB. The bar is too high and the bar stools too low for adequate observation of the sushi chef. The server only knew 4 of the 15 items served on a platter. For $95, I expected each course to be presented individually with explanation. Even with an explanation, the sushi was without flavor, the only distinguishing factor being texture. I have eaten better seafood from a plastic package with fake crab meat. Re-looking at the reviews, it is obvious that the reviews have been generated and paid for by someone who never stepped foot in this establishment. I am embarrassed to have eaten in this disaster pit. Next time I need to be fleeced, I will go to New Zealand and find a sheepherder!

Dining at MOKO beats every other OMAKASE joint in the city. The decor, the charismatic chefs, the delightful attention to detail, all these features stand out at MOKO. Chef Steven made my birthday this year one to remember. Thank you MOKO for creating such a beautiful dining experience for everyone to enjoy.

The omakase was good, perhaps a bit pricey even at only $100 when there are better omakase’s in the city for less than that in my experience. The vibe is very warm and modern and service staff was both attentive and very apologetic for the excessive delays to be served; I had an 830p reservation at the sushi bar, which had no seats available when I arrived, so I sat at a table. But it was a full hour - after 930p - that the full plate of all pieces in the omakase was served all at once rather than one at a time (which was fine because at that point I had to eat quickly and leave to make another commitment). The server was gracious enough to bring one additional piece free of charge during the hour wait, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño in truffle oil which was ironically the best tasting of the entire omakase.

While the place was almost empty, the server/host was super friendly and the chef made amazing sushi appear right in front of us. Every course was delicious.

Servers were very rude, not a good ambience. Treated as lower, as if we weren’t able to enjoy or pay for our dinner. Our server was great to other customers, but we were treated as inferior

Our omakase experience was amazing. The 18 courses were all expertly prepared and delicious. The sushi chef who prepared each piece in front of us at the counter is a true culinary master. Sit at the counter for the full experience. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. The chef explained each creation to us as he presented them. The minimalist design concept was perfect in every way. This was an anniversary celebration, so we wanted something special and this was it. Plus, the pics were very instagrammable. I highly recommend Moko!!!

Amazing sushi omakase! They only have three things on the menu- 12, 15, 18 piece omakase but it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and so much better than your neighborhood sushi spot. Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Be sure to request bar seating if you want to watch the sushi chefs in action. The restaurant is actually on 2nd Ave despite another place that says it's Moko on E. 9th St. Also it's BYOB and no readily available liquor store, so bring it with you. They do have soft drinks, tea and water.

We had a delicious dinner at Moko! Everyone who worked there was very nice and the place is very trendy and relaxing. The sushi was some of the best I’ve had! Highly recommend going here!

Booked the bar seating online with the intention of fully experiencing Omakase and watching the sushi chefs work. Arrived and was told that there was problem with online booking system and we could not sit at the bar. The very sweet waitress who was totally overworked explained what options were available to us but this was not an enjoyable Omakase experience. We ordered the 15 piece menu which took a long time to arrive and all pieces came at once. There was no description of what each piece was and I don’t really think the poor waitress had ever been told or trained by the chefs to be able to adequately explain. This completely defied the point of even having this experience as could have gone to any old sushi joint and actually know what I had ordered from an actual menu. Everyone in the room around us looked in the same confused state of mind with this experience. If it wasn’t for the sweetest waitress who tried her very best I would have got up and left after the miso soup which took an age to arrive. Then we asked for the cheque which took another 15min to arrive and then they didn’t even have a chip and pin machine to process the payment so I had to go into the kitchen to use Apple Pay. Wouldn’t return or recommend when there are so many other Omakase joints around. They need to do much better considering the cost and competition.

Have gone to multiple sushi restaurants in Japan, and this was incredible. The flavors and flavor of the rice is special and unique. Different from any other sushi restaurant I have eaten at.

Each dish that arrived was flavourful and beautiful. When the sushi dishes came our English speaking server was kind enough to bring us a book and described which fish was being served. it certainly was one of the best sushi meals I have ever had.

The food itself is, of course, incredible. It’s hard to describe what makes these sushi so perfect. It goes above the simple fact that the fish is incredibly fresh, of high quality and expertly prepared.
