The food was absolutely overpriced for what we got. The service was like going to an Applebee’s. I have no idea why this place is still open. Terrible experience.

Fun atmosphere. Good drinks. Decent food. Pitiful service. Waiter completely forgot one of our meals. It came out literally when the other six people in our party were done with their meals and drinks. I would have thought maybe an apology or even comp that entree but we got nothing. No compunction, no apology, no explanation.

We had a great meal at Mochica! The staff was friendly and helpful, and food was excellent and the drinks were great too. We decided to go all-Tapas, instead of individual entrees and everyone was quite happy with that. We had several of ceviche's and everyone picked a different one as their "favorite" so in my book that means they were all good. I highly recommend Mochica's.

Had reserved inside seating and were seated outside even though tables were available inside and several people that arrived right after us were seated inside. Heaters outside were not enough and it was too cold. Not comfortable. My wife complained with the host and nothing was done. The food was ok. Appetizer was the best of the food. Overall not a good price / value.

The type of neighborhood food spot SF is known for. Potrero Hill has their fair share of these. Unpretentious Peruvian cuisine, well executed, with attentive staff. Good bar drinks too, if you don't see what you want on their menu they'll make it for you anyway.

Lovely place to sample Peruvian food in the Bay Area. A good experience overall, with attentive Melvin serving us and making suggestions. Will definitely go again!

Excellent menu offering many items I would like to try. My vegetarian girlfriend found multiple options that worked for her as well. I had the ribs with jicama salad, which was terrific!

This is a nice restaurant, however it was quite cold inside (malfunctioning heater, doors don't close well and create an air draft). It's a peruvian restaurant but the food is sweet! They added sugar to many dishes, even to ceviche, on top of tequeños, etc The octopus was our favorite dish, very taste and nice flavor.

Bar and dining service were fantastic! I did not eat or drink anything bad there at all, and the ceviche was amazing. The service was also great and friendly! I will be coming back!

This restaurant was a great discovery! The food was amazing, one of the best Peruvian restaurants I've tried in San Francisco! And the service was so nice, a great option to celebrate a birthday since they are great singers and do an amazing cover of Las Mañanitas :)

Restaurant gave away our table. Waited politely for 25 minutes until another table was available outside. Finally got seated only to have the host ask us to move to a smaller table to seat another group who wanted our table. When we declined the manager came over and started bad mouthing us to the host in Spanish - I guess assuming white people don’t speak Spanish? Needless to say, we left. It was a real bummer all around, TBH. I love Mochica and have been eating here for years.

I have a strong appreciation for Peruvian cuisine. The tuna ceviche offered a delightful refreshment, while the lomo saltado impressed with exceptionally tender beef. The seafood dish, reminiscent of curry but distinct, stood out as the highlight. The overall dining experience justified the cost.

Excellent, creative Peruvian food with very good ingredients. Very nice setting (indoors and outdoors). A bit pricy, though, even by San Francisco standards.

The ambience, the welcome, and Spanish music were inviting. I loved the ceviche with yucca chips. The aji de gallina was flavorful was delicious and value was great for our meal and experience.

Great appetizers - the octopus was just perfect. Excellent cocktails - delicious and boozy and if it says basil you can taste it and smell it. Excellent mains - the skewers and short ribs were tender with just the right amount of sauce. The yucca fries and chips were salted just right and perfectly crispy! Good sized portions - just right - not Texas sized. They had live music and it was just the right decibel level. Not obtrusive, very pleasant. The staff are very attentive. Don't bother waiting in line at boring Plow when you can come here.

A creative, enticing menu and well-prepared, authentic tasting Peruvian food. The ceviches are all excellent (our favorite was the ahi tuna). Most main courses are equally delicious. The Peruvian-style roast chicken was a favorite of our table, as was the pork shoulder. Unfortunately, the seafood paella was underwhelming. Very appealing cocktails and wines, too (the Pisco Punch was refreshing and tasty). Service was efficient, friendly, and attentive. We were disappointed to discover that the menu prices shown on Mochica's website are out of date. Pretty much every item now costs between $2 and $3 (possibly higher) more. Also, if you want chips with your ceviche (which cost around $26), be prepared to order those a la carte ($6).

We adored the portobello mushroom Chicharrones! I had a delicious scallop dish. The yucca chips were good too. Best pisco sour I've had in a while!

The staff is friendly and well trained. The menu offered a good range of Peruvian fusion dishes. All were excellent. The food was had a creative edge with quality ingredients. Not cheap but well worth the price.

The octopus was fantastic. The lomo saltado and the salmon were fine. I thought many other things that we didn't order looked better. They are chairs are tiny given the price point. Please get better back support 🙂
