Mimmos Italian Village is one of the 3 original restaurants left in San Diego's historic Little Italy district. Established in 1973 in the heart of Little Italy you will find Mimmos is 3rd generation family owned and operated .

Enjoy our amazing food all homemade from scratch daily, using quality ingredients and fresh local produce .

Our popular dishes include, campanelle sausage, spicy shrimp linguine, and chicken parmesan. You can enjoy these dishes alongside a nice glass of wine or signature homemade sangria.

Mimmo's Italian Village was started by Vincenzo Mimmo Gaglio, originally from Montelepre, Sicily. Before arriving in San Diego, Gaglio sharpened his cooking skills in Tunisia, New York City, Ontario, California, and finally, San Diego.

Mimmo's seating areas consist of a charming indoor village, alfresco front and back patio seating.

Make your own pasta was a “meal-saver” for vegans. Pasta was cooked perfectly spinach & mushrooms tasty. Served was helpful pleasant and service was quick in a busy place.

I had not been down to Littel Italy in quite awhile, but had the opportunity to take a business associate. The whole area is very nice and Mimmo's was a great place to eat. Great menu, tremendous service. The server, Emily I believe, was very kind and walked us through the menu professionally. I had really forgotten about Little Italy and it is now back on my radar

Delicious burrata (the bread that came with it was just okay), gluten free crust on the pizza was good, and the spicy sausage pasta was delicious!

This restaurant is very inviting. Love the nooks and crannies and fun decor. But the menu was uninspired and the food was mediocre.

I think about the Campanelle Sausage dish almost every day, and it's been almost 3 weeks since I ate it! It was SO delicious. I make my own pasta that I love, so I'm extremely picky about what I eat when I eat out. I often get disappointed with the dishes that I order because I think that I could make it better. I would travel back to San Diego to eat it again!

We were celebrating my 50th birthday. I requested outdoor seating, which we did not receive. Then were put in, what appeared to be the kids corner, in an alcove. I sent a message with my reservation advising that it would be 6 of us plus a highchair & table was set for 5 plus the highchair. No mention was made regarding our celebration, which was a bit disappointing as a person only turns 50 once in a lifetime.

The service was excellent, the food was timed perfectly. The Italian soda was so delicious and the sangria was well balanced. The food was amazing!!! The sauces are the best I have ever tasted, sooo delicious.

The food was amazing. I have a 3yr and 4 yr old boys and they eat everything. For appetizer we ordered the Meatballs very tender with a great sauce, The octopus was cooked well and had a great flavor, Calamari was great. For dinner we had penne pasta with vodka sauce and blackened chicken very tasty, The Chicken Marsala was delicious too, the mushrooms sauce was amazing. Kids had penne pasta with marinera sauce and cheese pizza. A place everyone should visit, the staff is very kind as well and take care of you very well. Thank you

Food and location were great! We purchased bottomless mimosas but unfortunately our server only checked on us about twice so our bottomless mimosas were not so bottomless.

Everything was outstanding except, they only have one stall for women’s bathroom. The wait to use the restroom was over 20 minutes. Sadly, this took away from the overall experience. I’m not sure if there is anything this restaurant could do to make it possible for their customers not to have to wait such a long time to use the restroom. We were there after the dinner rush. I can’t imagine the restroom wait time if we were there during rush dinner hour.

We went here to celebrate a birthday, and had an awful experience. The server ignored us for a long time and I had a to flag down a waiter to get some water. The food and wine was not nearly as good as I remember it when I came here last year. Overall, will not be returning here, which is disappointing as I really enjoyed coming here several times during 2023.

Food was cooked ahead. It was not cooked to order. So chicken was dry and cardboard like. We sent back and the second order was just as dry and cardboard like. All four of our group was not impressed with service or food. So sad. Sorry Mimmo’s. Get it together

Mimmo's is cute in that it mimics an Italian Village in a reasonably sincere way without going all Disneyland on you. Unfortunately, the food is just average. Given there are two dozen other Italian restaurants within a 5-minute walk, most of which serve more delicious food, we've decided it's too much of a gastronomic sacrifice to settle for the mediocre food in exchange for the ambience, even when entertaining out of town guests.

The food was good and hot, which was necessary considering we had to sit outside. The waiter was excellent. However, your power tripping HOSTesses were terrible service. Not only were they not accomodating about moving our table, they were laughing and looked to be joking around that we were consistently requesting to move. We asked for the manager, who never came. Open table app has 2 options, standard and outdoor seating. If we wanted to eat outdoors on the street, we would've made that selection. However, we selected standard which according to hostesses is first avail inside or out. Then, what's the point in having an option. Coincidentally, every person after us went inside. Even though we had a person with disability that is further triggered with the cold, we had no choice but to stay where the power tripping hostess put us and quickly eat n run.

Dinner for two, everything was fine. The food was very good, as well as the service. We had reservations but it would not be necessary on a Thursday evening in late February. We would eat here again in San Diego’s Little Italy.
