Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

Afternoon Tea brings together the best of Mimi’s Bakehouse classics, from handmade scones with clotted cream and jam to fluffy cupcakes and nostalgic traybakes served alongside a curated list of tea from Edinburgh’s Eteaket Tea. Our award-winning Afternoon Tea experience is currently available at Mimi’s Bakehouse, Leith and Corstorphine seven days a week. Due to high levels of demand, booking is recommended. We require 48 hours notice for all bookings.

We had lovely bacon rolls and as I had to add my 9yr old at last minute the staff were so nice Very welcoming and our bacon rolls were delicious

We visited for my son’s birthday treat. He had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the kids afternoon tea.

Enjoyed what I ate although would have preferred choice of a wider range of cakes rather than just mainly tray bakes. My sandwich and salad came with a large paper receipt stuck in it which I had to point out to the server so had to be taken away and brought back. They said they were going to remake it but there wasn t enough time passed before it arrived back so sure they didn t actually do that. Otherwise enjoyed my visit.

The staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly. Just felt the food lacked much flavour - especially the macaroni cheese.
