Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

Afternoon Tea brings together the best of Mimi’s Bakehouse classics, from handmade scones with clotted cream and jam to fluffy cupcakes and nostalgic traybakes served alongside a curated list of tea from Edinburgh’s Eteaket Tea. Our award-winning Afternoon Tea experience is currently available at Mimi’s Bakehouse, Leith and Corstorphine seven days a week. Due to high levels of demand, booking is recommended. We require 48 hours notice for all bookings.

We arrived for breakfast and was shown straight away to our table which we had booked previously. The staff here are always so pleasant and helpful.We gave our order and as we didn’t want drinks at that point the girl brought us water. Breakfast was tasty and when finished ordered coffee and cake. Unfortunately the choice of gluten-free cakes was limited so one of us did without. Otherwise we enjoyed our visit.

Brilliant as always. We come in for breakfast as a family with 3 children and are always so welcome. The staff are brilliant, food is stunning, portion size very generous. Love coming along to Mimis.

We had lovely bacon rolls and as I had to add my 9yr old at last minute the staff were so nice Very welcoming and our bacon rolls were delicious

Enjoyed what I ate although would have preferred choice of a wider range of cakes rather than just mainly tray bakes. My sandwich and salad came with a large paper receipt stuck in it which I had to point out to the server so had to be taken away and brought back. They said they were going to remake it but there wasn t enough time passed before it arrived back so sure they didn t actually do that. Otherwise enjoyed my visit.

We visit Mimi's often and they never disappoint, no matter which location! Took my mum and nana for a Mother's Day Afternoon Tea. Service was prompt, friendly and highly efficient. The scones & sweet treats on the A/T were simply divine. Really delicious and all freshly baked. You can tell the ingredients are high quality. I also had their drink of the month - Mini Egg Hot Chocolate. I usually have their drink of the month and this was definitely my favourite. Love coming to Mimi's! Highly recommend their Afternoon Tea, cakes, and brunch!

Lovely brunch with the family. I had Scottish breakfast which was huge! Kids had beans on toast and black pudding till. Hubby had the avocado toast which is a form favourite of his. We all gad delicious cakes to takeaway as we were too full to eat them right there and then. Friendly and efficient service as always.

It was a return visit. The food was very good but I felt the decor could use some T&C. The service was also somewhat lacking. We had to request a child’s menu.

My friend and I booked a table for afternoon tea. The waitress was so welcoming and very attentive. We were given a booth at the window and they catered perfectly for my friend who is vegetarian. The food was lovely and fresh and came with unlimited tea refills. I would highly recommend.

Good menu, nice service, food really good (poached eggs a little over-cooked). Bit noisy at times with crying children, so had to raise voice to speak and be heard. Overall very good

A visit to Mimi’s Corstorphine was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We booked online as advised but early in the day a walk in would have been fine as it was only open when we arrived. We ordered a Mars Cupcake, slice of Banana Biscoff cake and two homemade sodas. This was an early treat for my son’s 10th birthday as we had travelled on our Half Term Break from Holywood, N.Ireland. The sodas were so refreshing, cake was utterly sensational and cupcake really scrummy. The cupcake was brought to my son with a candle in it and ‘happy birthday’ on the plate. This was a lovely surprise and lovely personal touch. Staff were friendly, welcoming, courteous and demonstrated good levels of food hygiene. Value for money was brilliant. Next time we are in Edinburgh, we will definitely be back. Would highly recommend a visit to Mimi’s Bakehouse.

Excellent food and service. We had afternoon tea and the food was lovely. Fresh and tasty. Moderate noise level but we did go during half term at schools. Staff are friendly and helpful

Three of us met for morning coffee at Mimi's. I had a truly delicious cupcake and my companions shared a fruit scone - because the scones are enormous. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was pleased that we were able to book a table - even though it was only for coffee. One of our number was visiting from Glasgow and it was good to know we would get a table at our chosen meeting.place.

We went for afternoon tea, and the place is good for the price: very fresh baked goods and a good tea selection. Excellent scones, clotted cream, and raspberry jam, along with very tasty sausage roll pieces. However, the sandwiches felt very heavy on fat, and most of the petite sweet desserts tasted just like sugar and weren't very enjoyable. Additionally, the place looks worn and might benefit from cosmetic repairs.

I always enjoy coming to mimi's in Corstorphine. Staff are lovely and very helpful and the food is really tasty. I usually book ahead as it can be busy at lunchtime.

Really lovely wee birthday meal with my daughter. They even bought her a wee cupcake for free and she was so chuffed. We were unfortunately in a bit of a rush. Service was quick but friendly. We will be back again soon. Daughter loved kids sausage roll and she had some of my banana biscoff waffle for pudding. The waffle was amazing as always! Thank you!

Purchased Eggs Benedict & Bacon for two and two lattes. Crumpets served were very small and chewy defrosted in microwave, eggs & bacon served were ok but very small portions , not good value. Can’t fault the lattes .

Easy to book and we had no problem getting the day and time preferred. Greeted and looked after by friendly staff. All food on the Afternoon Tea menu was delicious and tasty. We were also offered and had extra tea. Highly recommended!

Food is always top quality at Mimis. Took mum for her birthday and they brought her a complimentary cupcake with a candle which was a lovely touch. Service was excellent.

It was good! BUT definitely not worth the price I feel, £50 (for 2) for a few sandwiches and a few small cakes is a bit too much, would go back for a coffee and a cake but wouldn’t do the afternoon tea again. Staff were lovely and friendly though! :)
