    If you are looking for first class cuisine, something different and imaginative, and are ready for a single tasting menu, this is the place for you. The lovely conservatory setting on Midsummer Common is a bonus. The wait staff were excellent, and judging by the food, the kitchen staff too. The tasting menu has many courses but some are quite small, so the entire menu is not difficult to consume. All were excellent, and some quite amazing. One of us chose the non-alcoholic drinks pairing, which was equally adventurous and good. Two of us chose one of the wine pairing options, but although each wine was interesting and well-paired, for me at any rate, there were probably too many wines. If I visit again, I would simply drink Champagne: a bottle between two would be adequate. Needless to say, this level of dining isn't inexpensive: the bill was quite impressive too, but nonetheless, I considered it to represent good value. Not the sort of place one frequents often, but for something gastronomically special, it's definitely a superior experience.

    Excellent service from every member of staff from the moment you enter the house, all through lunch and as you leave. Knowledge of wines was also great. If you want the best, just go and enjoy yourselves.

    Fantastic lunchtime in a beautiful building. All the staff were brilliant. I will certainly be highly recommending Midsummer House.

    A very special place, wonderful food and attentive service. Incredible tastes and creativity. However 18 “courses” on the tasting menu should be reduced as 4 1/2 hours sitting at the table is too long. Our evening was spoilt by the Strawberry Fair on the Common, not the quaint country food festival I had imagined but a full on rock concert and fairground.

    The chef really nailed the texture of the food. The taste and presentation were on point. The mock Champagne "Gurk" had a really unique flavor.

    Not as good as it used to be. The theatre of service which used to create the magic of a visit to Midsummer House is now lacking. Additionally, the clientele can be a bit grating at times at these types of establishments. People feel that because they are spending lots of money thatt they can be obnoxious and entitled.

    Very good - but not groundbreaking or particularly adventurous, hence not exceptional. Wine list is extensive but rather pricey.

    Fabulous birthday meal where I was made to feel special from the moment we walked in. Thoroughly enjoyed all the elements of meal and the presentation. A real treat!

    Amazing food and service but a ridiculously marked up wine list with many being c4X retail which left a little bit of a sour taste. There's no need for any restaurant to be so greedy.
