Mi Cocina is a collection of neighborhood restaurants offering authentic Tex-Mex dishes, memorable experiences, and legendary Margaritas for over 30 years. Our classic dishes range from 8-hour slow roasted Brisket Tacos to the hand chopped Rico Salad & flavorful Sunset Fajitas. Don't forget to order a legendary Mambo Taxi margarita.

With all the Mexican food restaurants in Houston, this is not a favorite. Food was just ok. By the time I ate my taco, the plate of enchiladas was luke warm. The margarita was good. Would definitely recommend it. It was so loud inside that we opted for an outdoor table. Service was a little slow but friendly. Won’t be going back. Sorry

It was a Saturday night at 7:15 and the restaurant was half full. Not a good sign in the Houston restaurant scene. Drinks took 25 minutes and we only got three of the four ordered. Fourth came about 15 minutes later. Waitress finally took our order about 15 minutes after that. Blamed the bar being backed up but there was one person sitting at the bar. Food came fast after ordered and was decent but could not overcome the terrible service experience. Going to be difficult to last if this keeps up.

We had a lovely time on the patio. Unfortunately, the setting sun reflects off a nearby building something fierce and it was tough to sit facing east. But the service was lovely, the food was good and the drinks were great. The music was too loud, no surprise. I just wonder if anyone anywhere has complained because the music was too LOW???

It was Extremely loud. Had to yell across the table to be heard and service was super slow

We had an awesome family time. The hostess and server’s recommendations were great. We had the queso, the guac and the chicken flautas as appetizers, but our main course, the ribeye fajitas were to die for!! We ended up the evening with some mambo taxis and a jalapeño margarita, both were strong yet delicious. Totally coming back soon!

Ari (waitress) and Carlos (manager) made our visit top notch. The Mambo Taxis hit just right and the enchiladas were delicious!

Our waitress Katherine was the absolute best!! She was very pleasant & attentive from the start. We never had to want for anything! She made our dining experience all the more better! Everyone enjoyed their meal. My cheese enchiladas could have been hotter, but that didn’t spoil anything. We will be back!

Came for the mambo taxi and stayed for the ribeye fajitas. The atmosphere was so fun and lively! My wife had their poblano sauce and enjoyed it.

We started off with the chile con queso (added beef). The queso was flavorful and the chips are sturdy. We got the dilemma and mambo taxi frozen margs. They were both strong and tasty. To eat, my boyfriend got the shrimp tacos, which he said were the best he’s ever had. I got the beef fajitas and really liked how the meat was sliced thinly. It made it a lot easier to eat than when the beef is in big chunks. We had a wonderful waiter named Michael who told us they make flan in house and we couldn’t pass it up! Overall everything we had was super tasty, the service was great, and the restaurant is beautiful. Mi cocina is our new favorite Tex Mex spot in Houston. We’ll definitely be back and next time have a drink at the speakeasy in the back

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment we stepped in, the warm welcome from the manager set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Our waiter was not only attentive but also incredibly friendly. The Shrimp Brochet appetizer was accompanied by an unforgettable sauce that left us craving more. My enchiladas were bursting with flavor, while my girlfriend couldn't get enough of the sizzling fajitas. The iconic Mambo Taxi – a must-try signature drink also added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. Overall, Mi Cocina exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The combination of top-notch service, mouthwatering dishes, and inviting ambiance makes it a standout choice.We can't wait to return for another memorable dining experience!

My sister’s family lives in Dallas and their go-to place to eat is Mi Cocina’s! We were thrilled to have a Mi Cocina come to Houston! It did not disappoint! Excellent ambience, service, drinks and food! We will definitely be back!!!

Mi Cocina does TexMex ( and Mex) the right way. We were impressed not only with the quality of the meals but the drinks. The last time I had a Paloma that good was in Guadalajara 2010. From Armando the manager to Luis our server everything was spot on.

I will start by saying that the manager was kind enough to discount our check since he knew the level of service received was not the best (we didn’t ask for it, he provided it on his own). They are a week or two post-opening and still have a lot to work out. The servers and assistants were not well coordinated, and we had big gaps between drinks, appetizers, main course. Some of our food was tasty and some was not. We will definitely give them another try as we liked this chain while we lived in Dallas. And the managers save was thoughtful.

I was very disappointed, it was recommended by a friend so I was just expecting more. The design and construction was very drab and boring. The atmosphere was terrible, only 3 other tables with client’s and this was 1230 lunchtime. Now for the food, it was ok but nothing to bring me back to. The margaritas were not good at all. The service by Melissa was very good. So I will not be returning, there are way too many better options out there.
