Mi Cava & Cocina family has been in the restaurant industry for 30+ years, although it has been a different concept than MI CAVA & COCINA, our passion for quality food and drinks is unparalleled. Mi CAVA & COCINA is a very long-planned project that took years of development; from looking for the perfect location which will make an impact on the community, to finding the perfect team to create an amazing menu and be confident that we can deliver exceptional service. From multiple short trips around the Northwest to the very long tiring trips to Mexico seeking inspiration, to countless hours creating the recipes that made it to the menu.

Mi Cava & Cocina is contemporary cuisine inspired from areas South of Mexico to the Pacific Northwest. We will be working with ingredients directly from the source to ensure freshness and sustainability.

Place was really nice with lots of seating both inside and outside. Food was also really good and authentic. Compares to food we’ve had in Mexico.

Food is excellent but the service was not good. Not enough people on staff. Took forever to get food. Didn’t even take our order for the longest time. Biggest issues is that the music is very loud and not family friendly and it was so uncomfortably hot. They did not have air conditioning going and when we asked they said they couldn’t turn it on because they wanted to leave the doors open. People will not want to go there this summer if it’s that hot in the restaurant.

We had a large party of 11 celebrating our son’s college graduation. The staff were so kind, efficient and fast. The food and drinks were amazing! They brought out this fun sparkler and gave my son a free drink.I wish this was closer to our home in Beaverton. However, we will be back I for sure!

Very broad menu with atypical choices. Service was great and friendly and the food quality and presentation was way above average. Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Yes many typical choices. Though many cuts of meat and seafood prepared as if you were in Mexico City

I loved having dinner here! Everyone who works here is so nice! The margaritas were a little watered down, but still good! The food was absolutely delicious.

Went for V-Day with the wife. It was not too busy. Music over speakers was a little loud, but otherwise fine. Wife enjoyed the music. Salsa was what I would consider to be spicy or hot, definitely not mild, but fine as we both enjoy hot salsa. Chip bowls are small child like cereal bowls, hold maybe 20 chips. I understand that in this economy places are cutting back, but this seems to add extra service time to waiters as they have to fill bowls more often. Just makes service that much slower and more difficult for them. But they are nice and thin. I picked up the nacho's and wife picked up the burrito, both with asada steak. The steak is cut into strips and was seasoned fine for both of us, but very chewy. Tasted like cartilage a couple of times, we have definitely had better. Cheese was almost nonexistent on the nacho's, which seemed odd. It was our first time visiting and I was looking for a replacement to the Original Taco House that closed down in Portland. Sadly this is not it. We both enjoyed it but it wasn't very memorable. Our drinks were on the house because if the wait time for food, but we expected the wait being Valentines Day. The two plates were right at $40 for both, so price is great, but we are both kinda meh on if we would go back.

We are very glad we tried it out as I've been eying the place. The food and service were both excellent. Price was a bit higher than traditional Mexican restaurants, but the menu and food was quite good. We'll definitely go back.

Three of us had lunch. Two of us were happy with our orders. The order of 2 tacos was a very small amount of food compared to the other two orders, which were the alambre and a burrito bowl. The tacos came with rice OR beans, not both. We suggest it be 3 tacos with rice AND beans.

The margaritas and ceviche were amazing, and the chicken taquitos were full of flavor and not overly fried or greasy. I had the grilled steak enchiladas and my date had the Last Burrito with shrimp. We both felt our protein wasn't seasoned well and both dishes needed a bit more flavor. It was still good, and I'm willing to try more from the menu.

Friendly and attentive service. Food was piping hot and flavorful. My only gripe is only 3 tortillas served with an order of fajitas, that’s just not enough. All else was thumbs up.

We went there for my sister in-law birthday we all enjoyed our time there . Our server was frantic and was very accommodating when we wanted switch to a different table , we were seated outside under a cover patio. Drinks ( margaritas ) and the appetizers was delicious, but the main courses was ok . Over all experience was great . Thank you !!!

Drove 40 mins to the restaurant. Waited for food another 40 mins. We were really disappointed by Ceviche. Big portion, but yes, for $25, it should be big! It was pretty chewy. Fejitas was just ok, nothing special. The seafood stew was a great presentation, but super oily! I scoped out at least half a cup from the bowl, and there is still more in the bowl. The bread that came with was pretty bitter because it was burned, so I didn't eat much there. The waiter asked in such a hurry and almost didn't wait for the answer. It was not as I expected to be. It kinda ruined our anniversary 😔

Great food and service! We would definitely go back. The music was a little loud that night and the building is part of a large strip of business, but we could get past that. We have been to several restaurants in Portland this summer where the service wasn’t that great. This wasn’t the case here. Our waiter was engaging and responsive. He checked in on us after our meal was delivered, too, which hasn’t been the case at many Portland restaurants lately.

This restaurant was a fun place to eat Mexican food. The food was very good the value was great the staff very accommodating. I gave it a 4 only because the music was a turned up a notch high and I was having trouble conversing.

I loved the guac and chips and the steelhead trout. My partner devoured the burrito. It was a wonderful place for date night with warm, hospitable service and a quiet setting to talk. We will be back.
