Paellas

Originating in its modern form in the mid-19th century near Lake Albufera, a lagoon in Valencia, on the east coast of Spain, Paella quickly became an iconic dish of Valencia and Spain in turn. According to tradition in Valencia, paella is cooked by men over an open fire, fueled by orange and pine branches along with pine cones. This produces an aromatic smoke which infuses the paella. Enjoyed the food, but again seated outside of the main area under our favorite tree (third time in a row). We were on the front patio and the street noise is not relaxing at all. Won’t be back at these prices.

Beautiful outdoor seating, lovely meal. Vegetarians have options but not too many. If you like meat, there is so much to try!

Eating on the patio at Meson Sabika in beautiful weather is a must in Naperville. Huge patio in front of a gorgeous mansion and set well away from the main road so that traffic noise is minimal. Food is delicious, portion sizes are as expected for tapas, and food comes out hot! Servers are friendly and attentive. Definitely feel the European vibe enjoying food across 2.5 hours (though our experience may have been a little longer than most because we ordered the paella that they warn you takes 45 min to prep... though it's worth the wait!). Great place for dinner with friends or family in the summer.

My table of 3 finished our meal & paid. We were sitting finishing our sangria. The manager (I assumed) ask us to relocate to the bar area. Offered us coffee & desert. We were celebrating the end of the school year & was having great conversation. I didn’t feel good about being asked to relocate. It was in poor taste.

Food was great as always, but service was poor. Our waitress disappeared often and we had to have someone get her a couple of times. We had a bottle of wine and she was never around to even fill our glasses. Our last course was barely warm and must had been sitting for 15 minutes before it was brought to our table. The restaurant didn’t appear to be busy. We did eat right when dinner service started, so maybe that had something to do with it.
