Mermaid Oyster Bar is a family of casually sophisticated seafood restaurants born in New York in 2003.

Starting out in Manhattan’s East Village as a spot-on rendition of a casual New England fish shack, The Mermaid Inn has morphed into an American seafood brasserie, replete with style, hospitality and a menu marked by bold and seasonally inspired cuisine. The Mermaid Inn has been designed to evoke the feeling of being on a mini vacation in a small seaside village.

    The food and service was excellent, however, I made reservations via Open Table, mentioning it was my granddaughter’s birthday and my wife’s and mine 53rd wedding anniversary. However, no mention or acknowledgment by the staff about either. Very disappointed

    Arrived when it opened - Early flight out of JFK - Quickly filled up - Lobster knuckles and fish tacos so tasty. Wish Thry had had cod ( pollock ) - $35 - 2 lunch special - Calamari very good not over cooked or rubbery , Oyster DELISH. - small and fresh tasting - - our preference versus huge oysters - Service staff - excellent

    Everything we had was delicious. I have high standards for chowder, being a New Englander, and theirs was excellent. Also one of the best lobster rolls I've had in a long time. Oysters were of course delicious. Will definitely visit again!

    SERVER WAS WONDERFUL! SHE INFORMED US OUR RESERVATION WAS IN TIME TO PARTAKE IN A LIMITED MENU HAPPY HOUR (OYSTERS, OTHER APPS, AND DRINKS). FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD. SAUCE FOR THE OYSTERS WERE BLAND. NEEDED HORSERADISH, HOT SAUCE ETC.. GREAT EXPERIENCE OVERALL THOUGH. WOULD RECCOMEND
