Other than the 30 minute wait for our table, with a reservation, we enjoyed our meal. Not traditional service, more like tapas style. Food was very good.

We started out at the bar for happy hour, the bartender was so nice we decided to stay!! Had Gumbo (nice dark roux) and the shrimp tacos and street corn! Perfect!!!

The service was very slow. We waited a long time for wait staff to take drink order, then at least 20 minutes for them to arrive. The flat breads were delicious. When main dishes were served, my husband was told that they were sold out of his. I gave him mine and shared with a friend. We ate there 2 years ago & had a very good meal, hence the return visit with 4 other couples. Fortunately, the company was fabulous so we we could have overcome pretty much anything.

The food was good but all the spice was similar so the dishes ran together. Poor drink service but good waitress. There are many better restaurants out there.

Best meal of the Jazzfest visit. Creative dishes that are simply delicious. Excellent service, Kevin anticipated our every need. These people are trained well! Can't wait to return and try a different set of dishes!

It's got the Emeril's name but not the attention to flavor and ingredients that made the brand famous. We tried the crawfish flatbread, a special of the day, but not enough Crawfish on it to distinguish it from ordinary pizza. They are trying hard to provide something for everyone who walks in. Felt very touristy and loud, staff very rushed.... Most menu items were too generic for our palates. Did like the Boudin sausage balls.

Went for dinner since it was highly recommended. Service was quite good for the first 20 min. After the place started getting full, service decreased proportionally and we could not get someone near out table to help us. We ordered appetizers which were good but after about 25-30 minutes after we finished our appetizers we inquired about our entree, softshell crabs; and only then they told us then they were out of softshell crab.. by then it was too late for us to order anything else..

If you're in New Orleans, save your time and your money and eat anywhere but here. We were regulars at Meril two years ago and were visiting for Jazz Fest so of course this was on our food list! The quality of food is nothing like before. The food is certainly not worth the menu prices. I ordered a seasonal strawberry salad ($18/acceptable) and asked for chicken- firstly, I am aware that protein is an up charge however $12 for chicken that was doused in salt and panko crumbs to be seared in a pan is 1. Not fried chicken & 2. Unreasonably priced. If this was the best chicken I'd ever had then fine, $12 would have been no deal but when I say a kids cuisine frozen nugget is better, listen! After expressing that I didn't like the chicken and visibly didn't eat but a single bite- it was not offered to be removed from the check. The French fries tasted like they had been fried and reheated! Y'all know that taste! Most were soggy and nearly raw. The burgers cheese was delicious but the gristles kept throwing me off. We were given cotton candy to make up for my $30 salad- While this was a nice gesture and I'm grateful, we are adults. Thankfully we had several other great experiences in Nola but are disappointed to leave with this being our last dinner in town.

Meril is an amazing choice for those who want a little higher end meal than Bourbon Street but don't want to break the bank. There is a wide variety of food and beverage options. Staff are prompt and friendly, making the experience enjoyable, not rushed and comfortable.

I have eaten @ several EL restaurants & was excited for Meril. The menus is varied, has different choices appealing to a lot of taste. Our waiter Craig was unwelcoming & rarely checked on us. Would have turned the table faster if he paid attention. Made no suggestions when asked. We just sat down he introduced himself and asked our drink orders. Maybe give us a minute to look. Came back & asked for drink & app orders. He was frustrated or flustered when one asked to skip simple syrup in a cocktail. Then ordered just as is due to his attitude, never ordered another. Had to ask for a wine list. Had questions about the apps. We are a table of 4. Make suggestions. We stated we wanted to share. He was disinterested. One of my guests asked if something was spicy because Jalapeños were a component. He stated no, it was herbaceous. Odd description. We ordered sparkling water. We wanted to make sure it wasn't flavored. He laughed because he never heard that before. We then reminded him to bring it twice. Our water glasses were empty and when the gentleman came to fill the water glasses he told them not to. We didnt say we didn't want flat water. Craig decided that. He made no suggestion as to what to accompany the piri piri. Had to ask for desert menus & had to ask to order. Never checked how drinks, apps, meal or desert was. Never offered coffee or after dinner drinks. We would have ordered a second botle of wine...but he NEVER checked on us. Then we asked him to take a picture of us at our table. He laughed & took at least 40 of the worst pics I have ever seen. I think he just laid on the shutter button. I am appalled at the horrible service. Isaac was also caring for us. He was amazing, seemed to be a busser or server. He made more suggestions & paid us more attention. I tipped Craig. It would have been more. I also tipped Isaac. I found it interesting that Craig backhanded insulted me in front of who I assume was a manager. She said or did nothing. Very disappointing

Fabulous space, food was tremendous and the menu was quite extensive the prices were also reasonable for how wonderful the food was overall a wonderful experience 10/10.

I think it was a bad off night as we had counter sears and watched the kitchen descend into disarray. Waited over 2 hrs for food, some poorly prepared relative to identical dishes. Was comped on 1:2 of cost due to staff recognition of poor uneven service, but disappointing dinner for 8 visiting New Orleans

We had a nice dining experience recently. The menu has changed since the last time we were there. Portions are significantly smaller. we enjoyed our choices, but you definitely need to order a little more based on the size of the appetizers and even the entrées. I am a small eater and I was glad I ordered a large salad and an entrée and we ordered additional appetizers for the table so that worked out ok. Cocktails were great and service was pleasant.

Loved everything about this restaurant. First off the food was amazing. We ordered various appetizers and one was better than the next. The cod sliders were my favorite. The people watching is great too. Lots of bachelorette parties and birthday celebrations. Very fun. Wait staff if very professional. Definitely go if you are in town.

We had one of the best Danny experiences we’ve ever had here at Merril. As locals, we strategically chose to eat here to avoid the jazz fest crowds and enjoy the diverse menu options offered. It did not disappoint, especially for my boyfriend who is a vegetarian. The manager, hostess and our waiters were warm and friendly. Their service combined with the food truly made this a five star experience for us.

We had to wait over 20 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The management was vey nice about it, but still that late. Two of our meals didn’t come with the rest of the meals and one came much later. Again management was good and comped that meal, but it still made the experience bad.

Went to Meril during Jazz Fest. What an amazing experience. The hostess sat us immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was busy with lots of energy. Our servers were prompt and professional. We ordered tapas style so we could all share in the deliciousness. My favorite was the seafood gumbo! With so many gumbo choices to chose from in New Orleans this one truly stood out. Next up was the deviled eggs. Unfortunately, their taste fell short. Tasted like a boiled egg. The Gulf Yellowfin Tuna Bundles were excellent. The flavors really came through on these. Another favorite was the Crispy Cod Sliders. Not only was the fish seasoned perfectly the bread was perfect! We weren’t that fond of the meatballs. Flavor once again fell short. We also ordered the Vegetable Flat Bread. The crust was very good and the toppings weren’t too much. It really was light and delicious. Then we had the Pad Thai Cauliflower and the Blistered Shishito Peppers. These two did not disappoint. The sauces were delicious with the right amount of spice. Make sure to dip the peppers into the sauce! Loved these two. Another must try is the Spicy Rigatoni. Not too spicy, just right and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We reminisced about this dish the next day. But the finale truly are the desserts. We were celebrating a friends birthday and got the Cotton Candy with the Sparkler as a candle. Super fun! Then, of course, Emeril’s Banana Cream Pie! Just the right amount of sweet, not mushy and big pieces of banana. I’m still dreaming about it. We will definitely be back! Sorry forgot to take pics of it all. But I did get the pie!

We were disappointed in our experience tonight at Meril. Of all the great restaurants in New Orleans, this one just didn’t measure up. After waiting for 40 minutes after we ordered, the manager came to our table to let us know the appetizer we ordered was sold out. We waited another 15 minutes for our food to make it to the table.

The menu, food and service were all excellent. Our servers, Kevin and Brittany were so good, friendly, attentive. It was a terrific and delicious experience. We enjoyed the deviled eggs, barbecued shrimp, strawberry salad, spicy rigatoni and the awesome banana cream pie. We will definitely return!

This was one of the best dinners we had in New Orleans. I would highly recommend Meril and would absolutely return. From the drinks, to the appetizers to the main course, everything was exceptional. Our server Lauren was wonderful and her recommendations were perfection!
