The name "Mercado" reflects the spirit of a lively marketplace,
where friends and family gather to share exceptional food from and
create lasting memories. Mercado by Butchertown, in Nashville's
Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood just minutes from Geodis Park, is a vibrant spot for Baja fish tacos, tostadas, and beloved favorites from Butchertown Hall, including
small batch guacamole, queso fundido, and Butchertown Hall's famous margaritas. Mercado also features a lively raw bar serving Mexican aguachile and fresh boutique oysters. While waiting for a table, enjoy Mercado's rooftop experience, called Ramone’s, featuring spectacular views, frozen margaritas and an extensive selection of Champagne and sparkling wines. The gorgeous space, designed with a focus on community and coastal Mexican dishes, invokes a feel for the desert landscape and raw beauty of Baja, California, dotted with numerous cactus species, oversized planters, plastered walls, and “market”-style awnings.

Food was great. The atmopshere was great. They had a nice patio and roof top bar you could go to. Service was just ok. Could have been better, but not enough of a reason to not go again

Multiple servers (especially the bartender) checking their phones while customers waited too long on drinks and food.

This was my 4th time going to Mercado, it has a wonderful happy hour, although this time that I went I noticed they raised some prices slightly. They used to do $1 oysters during happy hour but now it’s $2 oysters which is still a great deal! Love this place and the rooftop is wonderful during sunsets

Restaurant was out of about 45% of their menu by 7PM. Also despite having a reservation they could not seat us because there were so many dirty tables that had not been cleaned. Clearly they were not ready for a weekend let alone Mothers Day. All of this made for a bad experience that doesn’t make us want to go back!

Very loud, Food was ok but not super impressed, mango margarita did not taste like mango at all.

Brunch was wonderful we did wait for the hostess no one at the front to greet but when we got to our table it was a great experience. Thank you

I don’t have the right words to describe this experience. The food was decent and the drinks were strong (good), but something just felt off. My biggest issue is that they have already gone up on prices. They advertise $1 oysters during happy hour, but they were $2 which is a deal that I can find at other Nashville restaurants. To add, the happy hour combo pricing is different than the menu online by about $4-$5. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s irritating to go into a restaurant expecting one thing and receiving another. The decor didn’t seem to match the vibe of the restaurant - it seemed forced. We went right at opening and they had trash and various objects just sitting around. The restaurant is also in a semi-weird area so parking was not the best. I didn’t have a terrible experience but it wasn’t great either - just average. If I had to choose between butchertown hall & mercado, i’d go with butchertown hall.
