Mel’s is a pizza restaurant run by Michelin-decorated Chef Melissa Rodriguez. The centerpiece of the menu is a wood-oven pizza, designed to be a cross between a Neapolitan pie and a New York slice; with a chewy, bready crust and enough structural integrity to be eaten slice in hand. The restaurant has no gas cooktops; everything is cooked over an open fire. Mel's boasts access to the deep wine cellar at Al Coro next door, so you can drink Barolo with your margherita–the most elegant combination in all of Italian cooking.

No disappointment’s here. Food was outstanding, service was excellent. Even the piped in music was great (not just good music, but a high-fidelity quality sound). Our evening there was a pure delight.

The experience and service at Mel’s was wonderful. Our server, Anye, was very personable and thoughtful. She welcomed us warmly gave us great recommendations on what to eat and went above and beyond by giving us a list of things and places to visit locally in Chelsea. The food was great especially the chicken verde sandwich. All 3 pizzas were delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Love this place! Great date spot and great ambiance. Food was amazing- I had the FOMO🥰-Live it! Hubby had the Margarita Pizza with Pepperoni. Brussel sprouts were very tasty and the golden beet salad with hazelnuts was very good. My waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable! Will definitely be back.

Food was very good. We wait just a bit for the table and the service was a bit slow. Overall I expected a more variety of pizza. Being an Italian just and advice : on the Margherita they should put much more mozzarella ;)

The atmosphere is charming, the attention to detail is fantastic and the food is exceptional. We didn’t have any problem finding something that everyone enjoyed. The salads are wonderful and flavorful by themselves. The pizza is the exclamation point!

I don't think I've been to a restaurant with nicer team members...EVER. The host, the server, the people who brought the food....EVERYONE was just a pleasure. I would go back just to interact with these fine folks, but then the food was absolutely delicious as well. Ordinary food brought to unique levels.

Great price for amazing service and unexpectedly good food.10/10 would return and recommend to others. Great, delicious, affordable option for non-Manhattanites IMHO
