A Diner's Choice Award winner for the last 12 years! Legendary Medium Rare offers a unique, $28.95 prix fixe dinning experience of artisan bread; a mixed green salad; prime, dry-aged steak; and hand-cut fries (Vegetarian option always available) in a relaxed, fun, environment. Please allow us 15 minutes to seat you after your full party has arrived and after checkin at our host stand. As we do only one thing, we do our best to make the food and experience exceptional and also a good value. We also serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday's with a great prix fixe including French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Eggs Benedict and bottomless Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Screwdrivers. WALK INS and CALL AHEAD seating are always welcomed.

Melissa was awesome and recommended drinks for us. Steaks were amazing along with the portobello mushrooms and desserts. Definitely recommend this restaurant

I was fine with the noise level because I expected it to be fairly loud. But it was really loud and for those looking for a quieter environment, this place is not it. Lots of college students there. They were not necessarily any louder than anyone else. Just making an observation.

We had a great experience at Medium rare! We went for Saturday brunch, which at $32 for an entree and bottomless mimosas, bloodies or screwdrivers is a great value! And the food was yummy, to boot. Best of all was the amazing service we received from our server, Melissa. She made sure we didn't go bottomless!

We are locals and our family of four went to Medium Rare for brunch for my birthday and it was marvelous. They had a fabulous brunch menu of four choices (if you are a meat and carbs kind of person like us), bottomless bloody/mimosa, energetic and happy staff, and fun atmosphere and background music for under $32 per person. Son 1 (16) and I had the steak and eggs benedict and it was delightful. Mom and Son 2 (14) had the steak frites and they loved theirs. I recall a french toast and sausage option and a steak frites and eggs option as well. The meal includes two courses and we had the parfait, garden salad and fresh fruit bowl amongst us. The pre-meal warm bread was awesome as well. It is not a typical New Orleans Jazz Brunch kind of place if that is what you are looking for, but if the above is your speed, we highly recommend!

Quality of the meat was poor. Bread over baked. Meat was also overcooked (asked for medium but it was well done) and they weren’t willing to adjust it for the second portion.

First time there. Wife’s 60th Birthday. Excellent service. Food was delicious and very reasonable. Fixed Price. Not a traditional Steakhouse. Bread was good. Salad excellent. Steak ,Sauce and Fries were outstanding. They brought back seconds for us do the steak and fries were warm. Wine was very reasonable. Chocolate Cake was decadent. We will definitely return

Service was not great. We weren’t told we were being charged for lattes instead of the coffees, and our server came by one time to refill our “bottomless” mimosas. She dropped the check and we paid and asked for another round and she said she couldn’t serve us mimosas after we paid the bill. Maybe if she didn’t drop the check so soon it wouldn’t have been an issue. Server was glaring and had such an attitude. Won’t be back.

Bread, salad and fries were good. Steak thin and low quality. Steak sauce terrible. Key lime pie was not key lime, zero tartness. The waiter was the best thing about it. Would not go back

The meal was just what we anticipated and maybe even better. I have eaten multiple times at Cafe de Paris in Geneva where there is a similar concept. Our waiter, Tyler, was terrific. We had a bottle of Malbec that was an excellent value.

It was solid, waiter had some good jokes too which was pretty funny. Beat the dinner rush by eating at 4:30 and it was great. The bathroom audio was weird though lmao

The food was not hot. My steak was mostly gristle. They asked me if I wanted to take it home. No one asked how our dinner was, so I'm guessing they knew it wasn't good. The restaurant was mostly empty. After all the great meals in new Orleans this was a giant disappointment.

The one-choice prix fixe menu is a nice change. I'm afraid many people looking for a "steak house" experience may not appreciate this French bistro style dinner -- especially thinly cut strips of steak with good taste but may require a bit of trimming on your plate. So it's not the thick tender filet you may get at Mr John's or Ruths but it is tasty and a less expensive, more casual night out at a clean, fun location.

Everything was great. The food was well cooked, the service was friendly but not overbearing and the drinks were delicious. I like paying reasonable prices for reasonable size portions with no take home, as most of my take homes are forgotten.

The food was a great value for the money. However, this is New Orleans! They need to really work on the VIBE! Turn down the lights, get rid of the top 40 play list! Make the place look like it’s been around awhile. Our service was excellent…chocolate cake a must. Fair wine prices, and like I said, great value for the price tag. But PLEASE step up your ambiance vibe!

The manager and our waiter were so gracious. I had a birthday dinner where everyone canceled, and then people showed up with other people, without letting me know. They were able to accommodate us without a problem, and I appreciate that because what happened was very confusing. We were very surprised with our portion size for the price. The food was delicious. We will be back, more often than you think.

I feel guilty giving a 2 star review, because our server Melissa was awesome. But the entire experience felt really rushed based on the concept of bread/salad/meat. The food was ok - not memorable. I wouldn’t recommend or go back. Too many other good options out there.
