The heritage site of the old Saanich Municipal Hall, is where the Med Grill calls home.
At 100 years old, the building holds generations of memories and history which we proudly showcase in the hallways of our restaurant. Committed to serving our community, we have been a local Victoria favourite since we opened in 1997.
We carefully infused our style of chic yet cozy west-coast vibe with the delicious flavours of the Mediterranean.

We had lunch at the Mediterranean Grill and were warmly greeted and shown quickly to our table. Attractive flowers had been placed in the middle which was a pleasant touch. The server was excellent - friendly, attentive and helpful. We ordered a variety of main courses - seafood crepe, burger and eggs Benedict. All were served hot and beautifully presented. They were delicious. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.

A great evening with friends. We had a couple of pasta dishes and a couple of the bowls. Calamari and Med Bread for appies. All delicious. The server was very professional and attentive. A lovely evening!

The Med Grill in Royal Oak is my favourite place to meet a friend for lunch. The menu is varied and has lots of options for any tastes. Servings are generous, too. I had the blackened snapper tacos and my friend had the blackened chicken ones. Both were delicious.

Best beef (brisket) dip I've ever had. At first we thought the table we had reserved was a bit too close to the entrance but as the restaurant got busier, we realized that the noise level was much more tolerable than had we been seated elsewhere. Overall, we had a greaat Mother's Day lunch and are looking forward to going back for the Tuscan Table dinner.

We were on the patio outside and it was absolutely lovely! We find inside the noise level is pretty hard to have a conversation, so outside was awesome

We had lunch at the restaurant on Sunday the 5th of May for my Wife's birthday. We had never been before but had seen the restaurant in passing a few times. We were thoroughly pleased with everything about the Med. The staff were very attentive and helpful! We can't wait for the next visit and we will DEFINITELY tell friends and family about it and hopefully, we can get a group together for an even better experience!!!!!

First of all I was delighted to see MANY Gluten Free options available! I ordered the Mission Fig Procuitto pizza based on the server descibing it as the owner's " favorite pizza on the menu". Our disapointment was that it was a just fine GF crust, with a bit of cheese melted on it , maybe 1/2 a fig thinly sliced and spread around, maybe 4 arugula leaves, and not sure I say any procuitto....(I am sure a slice must have been cut up small, and spread around a bit but indicernable to me a bit, I did taste some cheese though. Very underwhelmed! Great Poached pear salad! I have been to Med Grill before, and have had many good experiences.

Haven’t been for brunch and it was really good. Loved the short rib hash, delish! We were there with my demented MIL, it was pretty noisy for her, so won’t be bringing her back. But my husband and I love MedGrill, we go as often as we can.

The assigned table was located exactly as requested in the reservation. It was busy but well staffed. Our two luncheon guests were extremely impressed. Our server Kelsey was outstanding - she was efficient and polite; her timing and communication were just right. The food was great - a perfect Sunday brunch!

Steak was very undercooked. Sauce was forgotten on curry dish. This is not the normal food quality. Hoping this was just a one off.

I love those that serve as they matter but what I would encourage is body language that is pumped to receive you, with good eye contact that is welcoming at each point of service not a flat expression, giving more a vibe of...' here are three old bags coming to dine'. Rather see some light in the servers eyes of ' nice to see you!'... we don't know what kind of day you had or events happening but here you are going to be seen, valued and give you that sense that each person is welcomed into a fine dining experience ' as an oasis from hard moments perhaps' giving more of a vibe of you are going to enjoy yourselves here we are all about inclusion! Body language is a huge part of first impressions for how one feels about service and returning...Maya Angelou said, ' you may forget a name but you always remember how people made you feel'... I call it when you really aren't thrilled with whom you are serving as ' N-ICE' polite yes but feels cold like 'ice' Now remember when I say server it could be the greeter, host, it could be the one setting the table or the one getting the orders...use this as a general touch point of feedback for all who rotate to become more aware of their non-verbal body language and impact positively, with their words of engagement as well can raise the altitude of the experience from people of all ages, experiences, styles, personalities, histories that walk through your doors!

Med Grill Royal Oak is our favorite restaurant and conveniently located near to us. We have always found the meal quality to be consistently amazing, attractively presented and have never been disappointed. The staff are always efficient, friendly and make you feel welcome and comfortable. The ambiance of this restaurant located in a heritage building is very pleasant and relaxing - we highly recommend it!

When in Victoria for Easter weekend, we decided to dine out rather than cook, but decided so late, we looked online for restaurants that had reservations available. Of course most were sold out for dinner. We opted to skip lunch and do early dinner 345pm where we could get reservation. Found Med Grill, on OpenTable. Is located Royal Oak area on W Saanich Rd, we arrived for reservation a bit early and were seated immediately. Was quiet but had just finished the late lunch seating. Ambience was lovely, open space, of course Mediterranean style. Have a small outdoor seating area but opted for inside. Our server was wonderful, I wish I recalled her name. Very attentive not annoying, friendly, and just very nice. meals were very good and good quality and well presented. Chicken lettuce wraps were tasty. The soup of day and salad was also very good, soup Chicken bacon chowder was amazing and pear and pecan salad lovely, then there was the BBQ brisket entrée, usually a dinner item, they allowed but us to order but with roast potatoes rather than mashed as were not ready until dinner seating, they were great and good choice as well. Check this place out and would not hesitate to give Med Grill 2 thumbs up!!

Always enjoyable service, ambience and food. However, portions could be larger for the price, even after accounting for inflation. We have been coming hear for decades for family and special occassions.

I am sorry to say that the food wasn’t outstanding as it has been in the past. Several people in our group has the three course Tuscan Table and it seem to lack the food quality and taste that we have enjoyed in the past. I know that the Tuscan Table feature has recently been changed.

2nd visit in as many months. First time was date night, this time birthday dinner with family. Both nights were amazing. 5* on all counts. Service was top knotch, food was excellent, and we really enjoyed the energetic atmosphere. The place was hopping for a Wednesday so definitely make a reservation.
