The music was too loud ans tables were much too close to gether. Could hear discussions on both tables next to us....no privacy let alone hear person at my table. I will ask for a window seat next time. We enjoyed the dinner more when the "Louds" left. Food was exceptionally good though.

Just… wow. The food smells absolutely almost spoiled. And both head and 20 years of experience chefs cannot even catch the issue. It was amazing until today.. it is very unfortunate.

Staying at the Amway Grand for an MBA graduation weekend. Had drinks/tapas one night and then Sunday Brunch the next morning. All of the food was fabulous. Service was top rate, gave great recommendations and answered all questions we had about food and drink. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend MDRD to all of my friends (in fact my partner and I have already recommended to some of them!) If you are looking for a special place with special service and special food, this should be high on the list when in Grand Rapids.

Our first time there for brunch and the food was no where near the quality it is for dinner. The two tapas we started with, the French toast and the egg bites (not the actual names) were great. Where it really went down hill was the mains. All 3 were bad. The eggs were all over cooked, the waffle was just mushy because it had rice in it. I didn’t go in thinking we were getting diner food, but they tried to elevate approachable dishes and made them worse. Go and get the tapas, get a cocktail, and a coffee and it’ll be great. I advise against the mains. We LOVE going for dinner and will absolutely be back, but not for brunch.

First time here and we were celebrating our 39th anniversary. We tried several tapas of things we had never had before. The lamb meatballs were amazing. Everything we tried was delish! We will definitely be back to try more!

Went for a birthday dinner I was treated very nicely me and my guess. Enjoyed our time. Beautiful views of downtown GR food was delicious. Ambience was impeccable. Must visit if you are in town! Drinks had WAY TOO MUCH ice in them

The whole staff made our experience amazing, they had a note on our table for our anniversary and Jeremy did a phenomenal job of walking us through the menu and making our visit great. Between the amazing food and the amazing staff we will definitely be back!

Seems to be the same issue every time we go. Their drinks and staff are fantastic, the ambiance is awesome. Their food is not good. Beautifully presented, however, the flavors just aren’t there. We will continue to come in and order drinks at the bar (maybe an appetizer), however, then we will go somewhere else for dinner.

Elevated view; elevated prices; elevated food. . . . we did not have any gastro-synergistic "wow" moments but everything was very good. The sea bass was outstanding. Luke, our waiter, was fantastic.

Great appetizers and good cocktails. The main dishes were underwhelming especially for the price point. Our service was OK, you feel like you should have an elevated experience with an experienced staff but we personally did not. The view was nice. I personally would go back only for drinks and apps/tapas. Main dishes were disappointing (I got the ribeye and my husband got the duck). I am also very picky and have high expectations. Wish we would have stuck to the small plates and shared!

It was perfect!! I really loved it all- great service, the food was perfection- interesting, delicious yet not overdone. The views were amazing all around not a bad seat in the place. Decor is an updated , new- mid century vibe/ aesthetic that fits perfectly - doesn’t compete with the views and is comfortable! Thanks for helping to make our celebration special!!

Very dark, moody, sexy, LOUD, best to sit side-by-side instead of across from your significant other, servers were great! Didn't get the table we wanted...I enjoyed my meal but my husband's could not compare, his entree was like half the size of mine...desserts were amazing.

I will easily pay high prices for exceptional service and food. MDRD did not disappoint on any level. 10/10. So many times dining out means sitting with your dirty dishes until the waiter abandons the table to the bus person.

BEST restaurant in Grand Rapids!!! MDRD will never disappoint. Service is excellent. Food is amazing in both taste and presentation. Atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. If you haven't been here yet, it's a must.

This was our first time at MDRD. We were so excited! Expectations were high. The restaurant is beautiful and the music and ambience was very nice. It was a bit too dark though, hard to see the menus. We ordered the cucumber salad, octopus tapas and Mushroom meal. The salad looked pretty but was so small and very bland. The octopus was good, not great, and the Mushroom dish with asparagus was nothing special. For the price, the food was nowhere near the quality I had expected. Our server was fine, a bit awkward, but definitely not the quality of service we expected either. All in all, we were underwhelmed and disappointed and don't think I'll be going back. I'd much rather dine at Grove, Coopers Hawk, Reserve, or San Chez. Thanks, Sara

We had Ellie as our waitress and she did just a awesome job. She was friendly, fun , competent and very nice. We got a special cocktail from the bar and had a amazing evening. From the first bite to the last sip from our espresso it was all very tasty . Definitely one spot downtown to go back every time.

I do not recommend booking this through OpenTable as the app glitched and registered me for the wrong day just as I was confirming. Switching the day was not as much of an issue. The $50 you pay for an experience to sit next to the window is highly highly overrated do not waste your money.

I would give this a million stars if it was possible. I would highly recommend, the food, drinks and ambiance is over the top. We went here for my Husbands birthday it did not disappoint. From the drinks, to the tapas, to the entrees not one disappointment. We cannot wait to go back.

I love food and experiences. This was far above average fare. Our waitress provided excellent service. Our main dishes of the pork chop and lions mane mushroom were superb. The tapas of lamb lollipops were also excellent. Although the flavor of the octopus was good most was not edible due to rubbery texture. The lemon custard dessert was truly food art and superb. The corn desert was actually a basque cheesecake which makes sense. Also very good. Unfortunately, the complementary truffles were tannic. They dried our mouths and cause a minor allergic reaction for both of us.

Our server Joel was an absolute delight to have and very knowledgeable on everything, amazing taste, and recommendations. Joel had the foods we ordered sent out and spaced out to complement with each other. His recommendations and kindness was much appreciated and made our brunch at MDRD phenomenal. We ordered 3 drinks, 1 of every tapas they offered for brunch and the Salmon Benedicto to be shared. Highly recommend the Mimosa, the Torrijas, the Patatas Bravas, and the Pan Con Tomate.

Fantastic experience to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated near the windows and seeing the sunset was absolutely stunning. Ellie was as great waitress and did a great job taking care of us. The food was amazing. Patatas Bravas and the smoked salmon puff pastries were 11/10 good.

There was no one in the restaurant. I don’t understand why I had to make a deposit or even a reservation or why I could be seated with a view. A little disappointed with the entire experience. Also, I realized later I have not received the $20 deposit I made for the reservation back.

The evening was absolutely amazing at MDRD. Our server Sophie was top notch her description for her food and wine suggestions were excellent, she made our special dinner that much more special. Highly recommend for a delicious, high class meal.

Made the reservation 10 days to two weeks prior with window view. got there they give us the worst table they have. We asked for a window again. not available, but at least we got a better table the brunch they had or we ordered potato eggs and sausage really nothing to it. No-brainer , there was something wrong with each one, so we could not eat it and we left. Been there for dinner before and it was wonderful. I’ll keep doing dinner. also they charge automatically for reserving a table. If you show up, you will get your money back a week or 10 days later .
