The food was decent but for the price I was expecting something amazing. We had started with some tapas and planned to share a meal. The service was good but the waitress made us feel bad about sharing. When the dinner came they added an extra scallop for $16. We did not ask for that. This was our anniversary and after dinner we were asked about dessert. We were not looking for a freebie but it was clear they were not going to do anything for our anniversary other than the placard on the table saying “Happy Anniversary.” No dessert was going to make up for this average at best dining experience. For the price point I would not recommend.

The service from the front door to the bar to table was exceptional! The cocktails and food were inventive and exquisitely prepared and presented. We loved everything about MDRD and can’t wait to return.

We had an early reservation, 5pm, after seeing WICKED. Great tapas choices kept us trying new tastes and getting stuffed! Dessert was fabulous, too. Great food presentation and easy to split to share between several people. Fun place!

Excellent tapas with amazing sunset and downtown views! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and their Spanish sourced wine list complements the food well. Their creative desserts top off an amazing evening at MDRD.

We ate exclusively tapas, with a friend who has had many visits to Spain. He recognized the dishes, and the tastes were superb. Excellent and pleasant waitress and staff. Beautiful ambiance and lovely views of downtown Grand Rapids, for which we were required to pay $100 in addition to the price of the meals. On balance, a wonderful evening out.

The cocktails are very good as is the wine selection. Every dish I tried was excellent. The servers are very professional and can answer menu and bar questions confidently. It’s nice to have such a consistently good restaurant in Grand Rapids.
