Welcome to McClain Cellars - Laguna Beach! We are a “hip” modern industrial luxury tasting lounge that is a cross between a New York “Soho” music venue and a “Napa Valley” tasting lounge. This is not an ordinary winery by any means.

Featuring a 16-foot glass garage door, skylights, and a shaded patio, McClain Cellars brings the beauty of Laguna Beach into the tasting room. Along the bar, you will find artistic wine bottles with unique paintings on each. Each of the wines has a clever name like, “Summer Breeze,” “Love & Happiness,” “Promise Keeper,” and “Faithful Friend” to name a few. With the capacity to host up to 49 guests at once, this quaint venue offers free parking, easy freeway access and flexible hours. The tasting lounge is in the HIVE at 849 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, CA next to Kitchen in the Canyon and the Laguna Beach Beer Company.

Got a private event? Need an awesome place to have it? Our Wine Tasting Lounge is ready to host your next private party. We offer Private Chef Pairings, Wine Tastings, and much more. We also have wine by the glass and bottles of wine that come from our winery in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. You will have a chance to enjoy our wide collection of cheese, charcuterie, and light snacks as well. One of the all-time favorite items on our menu, besides the wine, of course, is our artisan popcorn. It's not your ordinary popcorn by any means. It is very unique. Air-popped, white hulless corn from Amish country with fresh herbs and spices made with our fresh Sant Ynez valley olive oils. Flavors such as black truffle & garlic, Garlic Pepper and Rosemary, and many more to pair with the wine. It's just yummy. We can not wait to see you at McClain Cellars and show you just how great wine is served.

We had to go to the bar area several times to get another bottle of wine. The servers ( we had 3 different one’s) never came to the table to say they were leaving and handing it off to another server. The first server, she came over and made sure that we had our wine and glasses. After she left it sorta went down hill. This was my first time visiting at this location. It could have been better.

My wife and I went there for Valentines Day and had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff was wonderful and the wines were delicious!

What a gem! Nestled in Laguna Canyon, this is a great little place that offers a diverse and delicious selection of proprietary wines. I had a great experience, from start to finish. They also had a musician, playing acoustic guitar which was a wonderful complement to the food, wine, and atmosphere. Ariel, who works there, was warm and friendly as well as super attentive and helpful. Thank you!

Juliana was a spectacular hostess and taught us a great deal about the company, the wines, the art used for labeling and other interesting anecdotes that enriched our wine tasting experience. I strongly encourage everyone to go visit one of their charming tasting rooms.

Had another wonderful time at McClain's with friends. Music was great, not too loud and very good musician that really added to the ambiance. Service is always incredible here. Beautiful night in the canyon.

The wines are fantastic but the “food” samples are obnoxiously overpriced. The wine flights are also overpriced. Location doesn’t have a view or a particularly nice ambiance. Although I might grab a bottle of wine, I will not be doing the tastings or ordering the “food.”

Good wine - sourced from Santa Ynez grapes and well developed through the bottling process. They know what they are doing!! Good snacks and service. We were made to feel welcomed.

Great service & knowledge about the wines. Cute little wine tasting place with bites & great artwork. Walking distance to town & there is a free shuttle. Great place for a date or small group.

We were celebrating our 35th anniversary in Laguna Beach and chose McClain to just taste some wine, Kaitlyn was amazing and so was the wine!!! Also ordered a couple of appetizers and were blown away! Very fun environment, staff is incredible, wine was delightful! Can’t wait to go back again!!! Kudos to Kaitlynn and the team for turning a “just tasting” into “we love you” moment!!!

We really enjoyed the wine and the service here. There's not much for food (popcorn, little bites) so we actually ordered food next door, and was able to eat it with a great bottle of Kayla's Crush. (Great wine!)

Service was awesome but overall pricing and discount structure left us disappointed. Tastings are too expensive and you have to buy 3 overpriced bottles to get a “free” tasting. This is our 3rd or 4th visit to a McClain’s location and probably our last. The wines are good but not fantastic. Pricing is what I would expect from a Napa/Sonoma winery with a pedigree not an urban winery just trying to make a name for themselves. FYI, I had to leave a rating for food in order to submit the review but we did not have the food. Valet parking is required and first 2 hours are free. That should have been enough time for a leisurely tasting but turns out we got back to the valet stand about 5-10 minutes late and we were charged $10 for parking. Not the fault of the winery, but left a bad impression after already feeling we were overcharged for our wine tasting.

The server was excellent. However, management understaffed with only having 1 server for the entire place on a Thursday evening especially during Pageant of the Masters. I really hope at some point they are able to serve real food, even if just light appetizers.

Got a private event? Need an awesome place to have it? Our Wine Tasting Lounge is ready to host your next private party. We offer Private Chef Pairings, Wine Tastings, and much more. We also have wine by the glass and bottles of wine that come from our winery in the Santa Ynez Valley of California. You will have a chance to enjoy our wide collection of cheese, charcuterie, and light snacks as well. One of the all-time favorite items on our menu, besides the wine, of course, is our artisan popcorn. It's not your ordinary popcorn by any means. It is very unique. Air-popped, white hulless corn from Amish country with fresh herbs and spices made with our fresh Sant Ynez valley olive oils. Flavors such as black truffle & garlic, Garlic Pepper and Rosemary, and many more to pair with the wine. It's just yummy. We can not wait to see you at McClain Cellars and show you just how great wine is served.
