Welcome to Maypop! - the sister establishment to the award winning Mid-City restaurant MOPHO. Located two blocks from the Super Dome and only one block from Poydras street, it features Southeast Asian inspired southern cuisine and focuses on hand made pastas and house charcuterie paired with Gulf seafood, local produce and hand ground curries. Enjoy our refreshing cocktails that are as innovative and creative as our cuisine, and our well curated wine list paired to our eclectic dishes.
Executive Chef Michael Gulotta was named a 2016 Best New Chef by Food and Wine Magazine and Maypop was named a 2017 best new restaurant by New Orleans magazine as well as a 2017 peoples choice best new restaurant by Gambit Magazine.

The tasting menu was phenomenal. My table got all the options, and they were thoroughly enjoyed. Due to pregnancy, I was not able to indulge in the tuna (despite my love for fresh raw tuna), so they whipped me up a beet substitute that was dare-I-say equally as delicious. I guarantee I will be going back nonpregnant to enjoy it with the wine pairings. You really can’t go wrong. We highly suggest this culinary experience!

The food was superb as always! I like the rotating menu with a few staples. Great mocktails and wine selection. Service was a little slower than usual, but the pace was actually perfect for a nice Monday night and a packed restaurant.

Fabulous dinner with our group of 6. Value for the 5 course tasting by menu + wine at $120 is hard to beat. I could rave on for a while about each course…but it’s easier to just go have the experience.

This was hands down, one of THE BEST dining experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere, staff, wine pairings, and food were absolutely outstanding. I cannot wait to go back!

We always come to Maypop each time we visit New Orleans. The dishes are always excellent. Great taste with amazing flavor. Service is great and the restaurant never disappoints.

The five course chef’s tasting menu was superb. Asian fusion dishes were fresh, new, and tasty. Wine pairing choices were atypical but very appropriate. I highly recommend Maypop.
