Excellent meal, large portions, friendly service. We enjoyed the hummus, our entrees: chicken shish kebab, lamb shank and falafel bowl and accompanying salads. Dessert was excellent as well—ice cream and baklava. We will return when we are back in Sacramento.

we made a reservation for 8:30pm and on arrival was told the kitchen closed in 10 minutes. i don’t understand why they would have an 8:30 reservation slot if the kitchen closes soon.

First, the food is fantastic! Everything was so deeply flavorful and beautifully prepared: best koobideh I've ever had, and the ice cream with saffron, rosewater and pistachios was extraordinary! We were there on Mother's Day, and they were jammed plus were short-staffed. But in spite of those challenges, the service was OK (and the wait staff kept thanking us for our patience!). The ambience doesn't do the food justice: I don't love that there are giant TVs tuned to sports over the bar, and the tables were crammed in pretty tight. But the food, and the earnestness of the service, make it totally worth it. You should go!

We sat in the high chairs outside next to the sidewalk and had no trouble talking to each other. The service staff were fast and friendly. The food tasted good and we would enjoy a return visit

Great food and drinks. Lots of choices. Have been there with a small party (2) and large party (8) and take out as well. Always great tasting food. Kind servers although service took a little longer than it should have to get orders and drinks at the beginning of the evening. Other tables that sat after us with equally big parties were tended to first. Not a big deal in the end. Will continue to go to Maydoon for a great evening.

My dad was Persian and cooked amazing Persian food when we were growing up. He passed away in 2019 and this was the first time coming to Maydoon. The food was tasty and our server was wonderful. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Chicken kebab was amazing. I've never had white meat chicken that juicy before. Hummus is strong and the falafel bites were so good I could have just eaten a tray of them. Was a little noisy, but we went at a busy time.

The food was very good and would definitely eat it again. Our service, or lack there of, another story. We were like in a no man’s land where no one really claimed us. After getting our drinks since we asked for a minute it was 20 minutes before someone came back to take our order. We saw them turn away people because they said they had reservations for those tables but we were there until 8:30 pm and those table remained open. No one ever came back to check on us, fill our water or anything. We finally got someone to give us a box and the check. Our service experience seemed to be the exception, but their business model, turning folks away on a Saturday night and have all these open table seemed pretty odd. Again, food was Very good. Maybe DoorDash next time.

Delicious food and service! We loved the Maydoon bowl with chicken kabob and the braised lamb shank. We also had the Kashkeh Bodemjan starter (grilled then mashed eggplant with spices) that was absolutely fantastic! We will be back again soon.
