Maxine's magnificent interiors are inspired by the funky watering holes of Soho and the corner bistros of Europe. A curated menu by Executive Chef Bobby Milheron and Chef de Cuisine features elevated breakfast, brunch, lunchtime and dinner favorites that offer peak flavor and freshness. Me and my boyfriend went there for our birthdays. The staff was very nice and the drinks and steak tartare were delicious

We ordered the Ahi tuna dish which was under the share column on the menu, yet it was a very small portion and was not enough to share between us 2. The price was 22 dollars. The service was great, and I like the atmosphere. But on my last visit I remember the dinner portions were a lot bigger. I didn’t order this particular dish before tho.

My favourite go to place for brunch/happy hour. Cute and comfortable inside but the outdoor seating in the summer is the best

Always fantastic food (delicious!) and service (warm and observant). I wish I lived nearby, this would be my favouite neighbourhood restaurant!

This is the first time I dine at Maxine’s Cafe & Bar. I came in with colleagues. I am from out of town and was pleasantly surprised with the service, the food and the general atmosphere. The simple yet rustic decor added to the experience. I would definitely come again. And would recommend it to family and friends who are visiting Vancouver. Best!

Brought friends here and it was awesome and they wanted to go back the next day. Madame - awesome. Breakfast sammie - awesome. Benny - good but nothing special or unique. If you are debating something else and struggle to pass up a benny, this is one worth passing up to try something new. Regret not getting the chicken - looked amazing. Cool spot and atmosphere, definitely a must go.

Sat on the patio with a group of 6 friends - we did family style and loved every dish we ordered. The starters were decent sharing size for a group and everything was full of flavor. Our server was wonderful. Would certainly dine here again.

We used to love this place but it’s definitely gone down hill. Overpriced for the quality of the food! One of us ordered a flat iron steak which was cold… and we had to wait a long time for food to be served (the restaurant wasn’t even full). Our server also failed to let us know that there would be an additional charge to the bread we ordered with our mussels (we only found out when we got the bill) they knocked off the cost of the bread, but said the wait times were long due to us being stuck in front of a long table.. how is that our fault. When we we leaving with our jackets ready to head out the door they asked if we wanted a complimentary dessert.. a bit too late to ask now we had our jackets on and was pretty much out the door.

Our Server Natalia was amazing and made excellent recommendations. All the food was fantastic in presentation, quality and taste. We sat in the outdoor patio area that was heated and had clear shades to keep wind out. The special seasonal menu was fantastic as were the custom cocktails!

Quite possibly the best service I can recall in a very long time. Wonderful food but our server made it all just that much better. She’s a gem!

We went in for a good burger and were not disappointed! In addition, the kale salad was delicious as well as the scallops and bacon. Service was friendly and fast. A great experience!!

The vibes at Maxine’s are immaculate! We love the cozy and vibrant decor (their decor during the holidays is even more beautiful). We ordered the full Harwood for 2 people, an affogato and a mocha; everything was so delicious! If you are a fan of bone marrow, this is the place to come for brunch; it’s my boyfriend’s absolute favourite. Our server, Antony (Anton) was so incredibly friendly and professional; he made our experience so, so nice. Our only complaint is that it’s very, very difficult to find parking in the area that’s non-permit; we circled around for about 30-minutes looking for parking and even then, we only got lucky when a spot opened up. We appreciate the hostess for giving us a longer grace period as the restaurant is well aware of how difficult the parking situation is in the area; that was a huge relief knowing that they allowed me to sit down first while my boyfriend continued to search for parking. We are very thankful for their kindness and friendly service!

One of the nicest dinners I've had at Maxines in the past couple of months. Nice specials and a few interesting, delicious new items on the menu. Alanna took excellent care serving us - and was efficient, friendly and made great menu suggestions.

I wrote a whole gorgeous review of my perfect evening at Maxine's, and then the OpenTable website crashed. Ordinarily I would give up but I still want to take the time to say how truly outstanding my experience was. When I made the reservation I sent them some details about my friend whose birthday we were celebrating and every single person we interacted with wished her a happy birthday. Every single person! They even wrote her a card that was waiting for her at the table. These were just some of the above and beyond moments we experienced through the evening. The wine recommendation was delicious, the course pacing flawless, and we felt like our table was the centre of their world without being overbearing. tl;dr WOW. Service, food, everything. I will be bringing everyone here. Thank you so much.

Second time back to this city gem and will definitely return again! Always feels like a little taste of NYC for me. Love the ambiance, food, service, vibe. So glad to have found this place.

My wife and I shared the Burrata, spot prawn pasta and the moules frites. All were excellent. I would have preferred more seasoning on the burrata dish but the others were perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. Cocktails and wine list were great. We’ll definitely go back and highly recommend.

The Fanny bay oysters were so fresh and tasty. My friend ordered the sablefish which he found to be on the salty side. I ordered the spaghetti which was cooked perfectly al dente. We were seated on the heated patio which was quieter. Maxine’s is a fine French restaurant you don’t have to leave Canada for.

Delicious food with an excellent selection for the Happy Hour menu. I ordered the carrots and the steak tartare. Both dishes had a bit of a Mediterranean twist as well (ie: turmeric tangy mustard with the carrots). Our server was delightful, had a small issue with one of our dishes and she got it seen to right away and it came back perfect. Excellent vibes, the dining room had a decent volume without being overwhelming (coming from a neurodivergent person). Looking forward to dining here again 👍🏼
