It’s kind of crazy that the chef won’t allow you to request a specific temperature for your steak. You either accept it as what the chef prefers, rare, or tough luck. It was not a pleasurable experience for me as a result.

It’s my 4th time here. The food was great as usual. Until the server gave to me a burned mushrooms. And I was trying to tell him this is shouldn’t burn meal. He told me it is. But no. I was here few times. And I ordered same thing. Never burned….Until I talk to other server. And he exchanged a new “no burn “mushrooms. I like the food and restaurant. So close my house. Overall was good.

Cuts of meat are flavorful and served on the rarer side and they are not open to changing things up, so be prepared for that. Side dishes are way too small so it makes for a very pricey meal considering the portions. Atmosphere is dark and the space design is fine and moody.

Right from arriving until finishing, our experience was amazing! Great food. Amazing service. Our server was Kaelan. Definitely request him for the ultimate evening.

Service was fantastic! We ate a la carte and everything was yummy. Loved the Cesar and it's presentation! The braised beef cheeks were amazing and the filet was one of the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back and have one of the dinners!!

Amazing food! Great service. Would give five stars for service except for method of service. Staff reach across table instead of serving from appropriate side. Very attentive staff and with a little training will be excellent!

We LOVED Matu! It was the perfect date! I guess I can’t give all the credit to Matu… My date, she is pretty amazing but Matu definitely added to the perfect night! The Filet steak clearly loves attention and it demanded ours. It was delicious. The Japanese Caesar salad was basically the best salad I’ve ever had (not to be dramatic or anything). This night was special for me and I’m really glad we chose this place. Thank you for great food and service!

Very loud noisy and crowded . Menu was ok not too many options food very salty and buttery. Caesar salad Amazing!!! Was not aware of the steak options. Like mine very well done. Had the branzino it was ok.

Food & Service & quality of food amazing. Too many items could not be ordered they were sold out - music was too loud and table for 2 was small. Be great if coffee was available. We will be back and loved the excellence in cooking.

We are big foodies and were excited to try their picanha. We had an excellent cocktail at bar — best old fashioned i’ve ever had. But we never made it past the garlic bread at the table when were informed that rare was the ONLY way they served all their meats. That was a problem as none of us like our meat red. Their option was to have me eat fish (wish is not why I came in for) or just give it a try which I found insulting…i have tried the best steak houses in the world and never have been denied streaks being cooked the way i like it - the chef can always recommend but the chef is not paying the bill. The four of us walked out and they were willing to let us go without compromising. That explains why I could make same day reservation on a friday. Oh well, we went somewhere else.

One of the best meals I’ve had. Every course was amazing. Caesar salad,bone broth, rib Eye pasta mushrooms pomm puree. I would buy this cook book if available. I wil be coming back soon. I’d be remiss if I didn’t say the desserts were wonderful too.

By far my favorite restaurant I drive to LA from PALm Springs just for the Matu experience. Ryan and the team have a unique winning formula. Best beef in the world.

The rustic ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly, probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in the most resent years. The Japanese Caesar salad, was simple but it exceeded my expectations. My least favorite dish was the carpaccio, it was awful but it wasn’t memorable either. Wine selection was small, but they have an amazing affordable Barolo by the bottle.

The food and service were exceptional. Hands down the best center cut filet I’ve ever had. The Matu Dinner is brilliant for first timers. If I had to complain about anything it would be that my pour of wine was equivalent to a tasting verses a class of wine.

I been to numerous steakhouses in Socal, and it was the Best ribeye i had so far. Besides the steak,appetizers & salad was delicious too. Definitely worth it
