Our server was uninterested in us or our orders. Asked us to over order food knowing it was too much. Unfortunately the food was really good so I would still consider going back, maybe.

This meal was mind-blowing. The flavor combinations and quality of ingredients was top notch. Service was excellent and as a non-drinker, they had interesting and delicious beverage options. Will be back (as soon as possible).

We had a great experience at Masala y Maiz when we visited CDMX in March '24. It's a small space but very cozy. The service was impeccable and they took their time to explain the dishes that we ordered and how best to enjoy them. The flavors were very complex with an interesting combination of Mexican and Indian spices. We ordered the Samosas, Camerones pa' Pelar, Chicken, Cheese Paratha, and a Paneer dish. They were all good but the Shrimp was our favorite. We also enjoyed the music! Make reservations early because we saw several walk ons being turned away.

Absolutely Amazing! We were offered a "Surprise Choice" by server. It was well worth it. The food was bursting with flavour.| The staff were very welcoming and friendly. This place is a "Must" for CDMX visitors

We were late for our reservation due to traffic in Mexico City and the restaurant could not take us. They charged us $60 any way and did not dine . Terrible treatment

Lovely service from our waiter Josue. He had stellar recommendations for wine and we let him choose our meal as well. The food itself was delicious and very well presented. Each dish we had was something we'd never tried before. The whole prawns were a highlight and the little snack of peanuts before the meal was amazing at well :) 10/10

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we enjoyed every aspect of the dining experience. The staff were friendly, passionate and so incredibly welcoming with constant smiles throughout the service and you can see firsthand their passion for working here. The food and flavour combinations blew our minds and we will definitely be back on any visit to CDMX!

Too loud. Couldn’t hear the server properly. Music was totally out of place / down right rude. Not a great dinning experience. It was more like a night club that served food.

If you're looking for an unique, enlivening experience, be sure to visit Masala y Maíz. The food is bursting with flavors that are well balance and super satisfying. I had the prawns with vanilla-chili-infused ghee, which were incredible; followed by the clams with plantains in an incredible broth, served with paratha; then for dessert, had the chocolate tamale with rose and pistachio. Everything was exceptional.

First of all we were seated all the way by the entrance of the restaurant where there is heavy foot traffic between the servers and the customers coming in and out. There were plenty of tables in their back section available but for some reason we were seated in the front by the entrance of the door. The male who seated us was kind of rude and stand offish. The food was just okay, this place is way over hyped. The only good thing I ate there was the dessert. The food was less than mediocre and I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family. Waste of money in my opinion and the food is way overpriced just because of its hype. There are also limited vegetarian options on the menu which is surprising for being an Indian/Mexican restaurant and many Indians are vegetarian. I was very disappointed.

Really good food with many flavors. Place is small for such a great food place. There are limited choice of wine by the glass and more choices would be better. Highly recommend it for great food with fusion flavors.

It was an okay experience, interesting attempt at combining flavors. Some of what we ordered were good but the rest were a stretch and fell short. Their attempts at culinary alchemy did not yield any gold.

We did the chef’s experience and everything was delicious. A couple dishes in particular had an explosions of flavors that blew me away. The ceviche and shrimp I could eat everyday. The place is small and quaint with an artist flair. If I’m MX city I will most definitely go again and will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

The food at Masala & Maiz is out of this world! After reading some reviews about this place, I decided to put it on my list to visit when I was visiting Mexico City. The place is a small, so be patient with the staff. Make your reservation in advance if you’re going to visit Mexico City. It’s always the issue of service, service has to go with the food and in this case the service was as good as the food was. Carina our waitress and all the staff were amazing and very knowledgeable.
