Located in Boston’s vibrant SoWa neighborhood in the South End, Marseille is a classic French brasserie inspired by the diverse flavors of its namesake, the legendary Mediterranean port city at the cultural crossroads of France, Spain, Italy, Greece and North Africa.

Led by renowned chef Robert Fathman, the kitchen serves up modern takes on classic French fare like steak frites, bouillabaisse, Salade Lyonnaise and onion soup, with inventive additions including shakshouka, Moroccan couscous and chickpea fries. The beverage program consists of classic cocktails with a twist, draft and bottled beers and a broad range of French, Italian and New World wines.

Our sophisticated, light-filled interior invites you to gather with friends in the dining room or grab a seat at the lively bar. In the warmer months our private outdoor patio is the perfect spot for an al fresco meal.

We offer free validated parking in the adjacent lot for up to four hours.

Beautiful day to sit outdoors on accessible, spacious patio area. Service was slightly disjointed, although pleasant enough. The hostess was especially charming, helpful and delightful. Kitchen was super accommodating about splitting of frisée salad starter, but we found the pate de campagne a bit tough and skimpy on accompaniments. The crostini were too hard to really spread pate on and bite. The omelet, a French standard, was good, but the “sauce” kind was of ruined it. Fresh herbs garnish should’ve been the final component. My friend’s dish, a take on Pain Perdu, would’ve been so much more impressive if made with French brioche versus croissant. A clever way to use day old croissants, but too heavy for the recipe IMO. I love having access to a French inspired brunch spot, but I wish it were more authentic.

Appetizer mezze was very generic with pita that was not really pita but some generic store bought bread. The duck i had as main course was pretty good. The Newburyport IPA was excellent and the waitress was great.

The food was excellent with very good service. Our server, Patrick was helpful and attentive. Perfect weather to enjoy the charming outdoor dining area.

The food was amazing. I’ve been here a few times and had always had great service. This was the first time 30% of the service didn’t surpass the standard. The server barely came over to check on the table even after the food came out. We had to ask for bread after being there for over an hour. Most of the time we had to try to get her attention. I’ve been in the restaurant industry and the subpar service was definitely not acceptable

Perhaps the owner or the shift manager could express their dissatisfaction with customers of a a certain ethnicity in a less blunt manner, avoiding any display of hate or animosity towards them

Went to celebrate a graduation. They were very accommodating of our large group. Cocktail program was on point. Charming decor. Service was good. Dishes were good but not great. Suited our needs.

We had the best time at Marseille on Sunday night. The staff was so kind to us and our daughter. The food was so yummy and the cocktails were perfection. Their spicy cocktail was the perfect level of spice! We were treated so well from start to finish by everyone we interacted with - this was a delayed Mother's Day celebration and it was truly perfect. We can't wait to come back for patio season!
