Mare is a great restaurant. I have been there before. Took my family plus a couple friends to dinner. Very good seafood however do not ever order the lobster roll. It was minced lobster meat and not a lot. Has anyone ever had a minced meat lobster roll. It was like tuna from a can. I told the waiter who was very nice I did not want my bill adjusted but this item should never be on their menu. They are better than that. I can get a better lobster roll with big chunks of lobster at legal seafood in Boston airport. Mincemeat lobster roll is just bizarre and also was not good at all. It was like they took leftover lobster bits from other dishes and put them in a roll. ordered an arugula salad with light dressing. The salad came drenched and swimming in dressing and inedible. Ended up eating French fries for dinner. The rest of my party liked their food and the their seafood was great. This is just such a misstep by such an upscale seafood restaurant and typically a very good one. It’s worth a visit just do not order the lobster roll.

The food was very good but the service was atrocious. Our server, Juan, paid little attention to our table. He talked with his coworkers in front of us while we had empty plates and glasses on the table. When a server is describing specials to me I expect the description to be accurate. Our server had us under the impression that the spicy tomato sauce spaghetti with the shelled lobster had peices of lobster in it. Instead we got our spaghetti with a lobster on it. Our server failed to tell us that the dish was $60 too. If I'm paying that price I don't want to have to deshell the lobster myself. We didn't receive any de-shelling tools until we asked for them. That was after we had waited 10 minutes for our server to come and check on us. Overall the food and environment was good but the service was embarrassingly bad.

I love love love Mare. I always have good experiences there. This one was a little different. Our server was clearly rushing us out. We usually like to start with raw bar and apps then put in entrees. He said the kitchen is “very behind “ and we should put everything in at once. The kitchen did not seem behind at all the food was coming out reasonable timing for us and the others around us. We basically stuffed our faces and left within 45 minutes because we had to put everything in at once. Not the usual experience it’s typically our favorite place

Mare was outstanding! The tagliatelle pasta with lobster was amazing. Squid ink linguini with clams so good and we went back the next night and had the halibut and swordfish , wow! They have oysters called frosty omg best I have ever had! Service was perfect, Aruba at the bar is amazing! If you haven’t been to mare run don’t walk!

Great seafood and Italian dishes. The octopus appetizer was perhaps the best I've ever had. Place is a little noisy, but I would definitely eat there again.

I made a reservation at Mare 1.5 months in advance. I confirmed this reservation a day in advance when requested. On our way to Mare, I received a text that said our table was ready. I responded that I was on my way. My party and I arrived 2 minutes prior to our reservation time and were told our table actually was not ready and we would have to wait 10-15 minutes. Surprising, but no problem. We decided to grab a drink at the bar. We were then brought to a table upstairs. I have been to Mare in the past and have loved it mainly for the atmosphere. This night I expected to be seated downstairs like all the other nights with a nice, vibrant atmosphere. I was extremely upset to be sat upstairs in an area with absolutely no atmosphere. The room was bare with a small TV on with a basketball game. Our table butted up to the bathroom where we could hear everyone go to the bathroom. The other table upstairs was a large, loud party of 14 people. The service was extremely slow, and we felt forgotten about. This area should only be for people who have not made reservations and private parties. I will not risk bringing friends back to this restaurant to be sat in this area ever again. Please rethink how you treat repeat customers who make reservations well in advance.

Amazing food and Service!! We had oysters and octopus for appetizers -they were delicious. As our entree we had salmon snd spevial with lobster and shrimp —absolutely exquisite!! Sooo tasty

Very tight tables and that makes it quite loud. My wife loved the "Cioppino" like seafood dish and I ordered the "Mushroom Spaghetti". Well, it was spaghetti in a mushroom sauce but I needed a microscope to find any hint of a mushroom in the bowl - quite disappointing.

Our reservation was made on Open Table; however, there was no posting on the restaurant’s side. They were very accommodating. Bread was delicious. Salad was tasty. My son and husband had pastas and it was delicious. I had the halibut special and the sauce was too tart. For desert we chose the cheese tray and it was stated to have three different cheeses; however, it was all the same cheese, disappointed.

Great experience - nice upbeat ambiance (white tablecloth but not stuffy), excellent seafood (the scallops!) and drinks. Fantastic service - Jose was super knowledgeable and helpful with all of our allergies.

First impressions were spot on. The customer service is excellent and even better is the food. We had lobster pasta, sea bass, swordfish, and tuna. For starters arugula salad, oysters and the cacao e pepe. All excellent. We were in kind of a rush to make the train and couldn't really relax but will definitely be back.

Dinner prior to a Celtics game. Tucked away in a corner, the restaurant has charm and character. As the name implies, a seafood inclined menu. Excellent local oysters, seafood options and alternatives if seafood isn’t your thing. Pretty decent wine list.

I went to dinner for my boyfriend's birthday and wow it exceeded my expectations, we trusted our waiter Carlos for the pasta and wine and he really did amazing. For his birthday they brought him a dessert with a candle and what a dessert!!! thanks mare team! I definitely be back

The food was fabulous, and the service was wonderful. I definitely recommend this restaurant. The only things I did not like we’re at the tables were very close together and we were seated at a tiny two top with no place to put my pocketbook and it would not hang on the back of my chair because I did not have a shoulder strap so I had to sit with it on my chair behind me the entire time preventing me from sitting back in my chair. I will not put my pocketbook on the floor. I recommend that they add a hook underneath the tables like they do at Eataly. I also think that they could possibly do something a little better than having a plastic barrier between the dining room and the highway below. That was pretty tacky.
