Maple Block Meat Co. is a tribute to the craftsmanship of butchering, smoking and grilling meat, paying respect to the deep-rooted traditions of American barbecue. Located on Sepulveda Blvd between Venice and Washington Place in Culver City, Maple Block Meat Co. specializes in authentic, wood-smoked meats prepared with the classic technique of smoking with whole peach wood and incorporating a variety of subtle flavor profiles that we love. Everything was yummy. We had brisket with sides of beans and brussels sprouts. Casual barbecue atmosphere. The meat is a little overpriced but this was still a good choice.

Sooo really excited to try for brunch on Sunday. Very nice waiter etc HOWEVER, at 1230 for brunch they were out of way too many things-no biscuits at all ( even though they told us the Benedict’s would be on biscuits they were on English muffins). They had NO JELLY at all for the cornbread as advertised. No refills on coffee were offered ( at 4.50$ a cup!), and had to pay for extra sauce for the burrito- it’s the LITTLE THINGS , why charge for that when OUT of stuff that was on menu included? The brisket on the Benedict was really good and the potatoes on side plentiful and flavorful. They weren’t busy and if the standard is “ out of stuff” I see why. Lots of good but so much room to improve for brunch!

The food could be seasoned better, but overall it’s okay. If you’re really craving BBQ then sure stop by, but otherwise you are better off going to a different LA establishment or out of state.

What a horrible experience from a place I used to love. Hostess sat us at a table that had not been cleaned or set up. Sat for 10 minutes until a waiter walked over and rudely told us we can’t just seat ourselves and need to see the hostess. He obviously noticed we were at a dirty table. Told him the hostess did seat us there. Then he said fine but made no attempt to clean the table. Brought us menus including Dine LA which we came for because we love the brisket. The menu he gave us did not have brisket. We mentioned the menu we viewed showed brisket as one of the options. He said no that was the downtown LA menu. It wasn’t so I pulled it up to show him. He still insisted that was for downtown until I showed him the address was Culver City. Without asking he grabbed my phone from my hand and walked away. Came back a couple of minutes later and said “I talked to the chef and these are your choices”. No attempt acknowledge the error, apologize, or do anything other than “take it or leave it”. Should have left but was hungry so we stayed. Wouldn’t have been difficult for them to honor their menu considering brisket is their specialty. Even if they politely said they made a mistake I could have lived with it. Rudeness and apathy = lost business. Mine for starters. Still craving brisket so going to try the new Bludso’s tonight.

The staff were attentive and timely - checking in during the meal, refreshing beer perfectly on time. The food was delicious - the hot honey ribs and brisket were particular stand outs.

I hosted six friends on a Saturday afternoon at Maple Block. The seating was excellent -- we could all talk to each other. There was a game on, but the noise was not bad. The service was very good and fairly quick. My only quibble was with the barbecue chicken salad, which I ordered as an entree. There was very little chicken in this salad, which was a big disappointment. However, my tablemates ordered brisket and sausages and they were all very happy. As a consolation, one of my friends gave me a slice of brisket, which was very tasty!

Wonderful customer service with lots of smiles.Food was excellent.Had their Tuesday Taco Special with 3 Brisket tacos.Quality of meat was excellent.Great draft beer to go with them.

Immediately upon entering the vibe here was strange. No hostess, some crooked empty tables, quiet no music. We opted to eat outdoors where more diners were. Even with the TVs, it was oddly quiet there. Meat portions were extremely small and overall the food was lacking in flavor. Best part was the beer? Unfortunately this was a big miss for me.

Amazing meats. We tried the brisket and sausages and they were fantastic. The sides (beans and slaw) were fine, but not outstanding. Service was great. Had a fun, energetic waitress and her trainee taking care of us. For being on a busy street, the ambience was good and you don't notice it. The outdoor patio is perfect. Good energy in the place (not too much or little). This was a Thursday night, early.
