Located in the Arts District of Los Angeles, Manuela unites chef, farmer and artist to create an authentic and original dining experience. Under the direction of Executive Chef Kris Tominaga, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients sourced from the best farms and producers in Southern California.

Serving a wide range of vegetables, grains, fish, and game, Manuela also features an exemplary bar program, which serves classic cocktails using house-made bitters and tonics. Local beers are on tap, while the carefully selected wine list is designed to pair with the smoke and acid at the heart of Manuela’s menu.

Designed by Los Angeles native Matt Winter and named for Manuela Wirth, the restaurant is illuminated and animated by specially commissioned works from artists Paul McCarthy, Mark Bradford and Raymond Pettibon.

Specifically requested in the reservation, which was made far in advance, an outside table and advised that we were coming to celebrate Mother’s Day. When we arrived, we were taken to an inside table. I reminded that I requested outside and would appreciate it, especially in light of the fact that we were not able to do so the last time we dined there. We were told that we would have to wait an additional 30 minutes. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

Fantastic brunch, presentation was perfect, ingredients were fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable and our server Nate was amazing. Will be returning to try the items on the menu we didn’t have room for - everything was delicious.

Service was awful- we waited nearly 45 minutes to order and another very long time to get food which was not as good as usual. And the 23% service added was offensive. I will reconsider returning.

Great service and food was delicious. One critique is the fried chicken, the sweet made it too sweet and the fried part made it too hard to eat. Also, wish there were more pasta or rice options for those who don’t eat meat.

Majority of the food came out dry and/or overcooked. Flavors were there, but poorly executed (Yelp reviews also stated the same with their dishes). The service was okay, service was okay but slow compared to the restaurant’s occupancy rate. Could tell that servers had their own section of the restaurant. The outdoor seating area near the entrance was very dark due to restaurant space.

Loved the food & ambiance! Great service. The restaurant is an oasis in the middle of the Arts District! One thing I pointed out to the server was that the menu does not state that there is onions in the asparagus salad. Since I don't eat raw onions, they accommodated & brought another one without the onions. I appreciated the gesture. Highly recommend Manuela!

We LOVE Manuela. The food is consistently delicious and the atmosphere is always pleasurable. This time didn’t disappoint. Our waiter, Nate, was awesome. He added just the right amount of personal interaction and professionalism making sure everything was just right. You can’t have brunch here without trying the biscuits with apple butter. Another favorite is the smoked albacore dip -even if it doesn’t sound good,I promise you’ll be addicted after you try it. All the salads are fantastic. Fresh produce- quality ingredients. Lunch or Dinner, Manuela is a tasty treat!

We had a fantastic dinner at Manuela! Our server was so attentive. The small bites were bursting with flavor the fish dip incredible, the shrimp aqua chili and the biscuits are a must. Main enters the pork chop and chicken were so so good had take some home cuz it was a lot of food! Will be going back for sure.

Manuela is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. So many other fine dining establishments provide the ambiance but the food isn't that great. Manuela will serve you some of the best food you have ever had. Delicious, tasty, savory, everything you would hope for!

This restaurant is such a little gem on the heart of the Arts District in DTLA. I have to say, it's a little hard to find, since the restaurant shares an establishment with an art gallery, but once you enter, it's a gorgeous warehouse vibe with string lights and a little atrium garden. We ordered the Cara Cara Orange salad to start. Absolutely delicious. It's so ridiculously umami - the tartness of the orange in comparison to the tanginess and spiciness and crunchiness of the Aleppo pepper and the pistachio... absolutely insane. For our mains, we ordered the Roasted Oyster Mushrooms and the Heritage Green Circle Half Chicken. The Oyster Mushroom dish was so creamy, yet tart from the malt vinegar. Perfectly balanced. The charred leek aoli really elevated the dish to another level. The Half Chicken was so insanely juicy, yet the skin was so crispy. The chili de arbol added just the right amount of heat, while the white bbq sauce brought the heat down a touch. Such a perfect bite. It was absolutely divine. We were all for the great ambience, and service was so very efficient. I have to say, it was a little bit noisy, but that is definitely to be expected, as the restaurant has a warehouse type vibe, and there was an echo. Overall, we had a blast. Enjoyed some lovely food, and took in the gorgeous ambience. We will be back!

Somewhat lackluster food, service, and experience. Drinks not refilled regularly. Server was not accommodating when we wanted to order our biscuits ahead of our entrees order. The food was just okay. Atmosphere was buzzing on a Saturday. For some reason restaurant couldn’t process our card even though more than adequate credit. Good thing we had cash. Restaurant added a service charge without telling us. Paid extra gratuity unnecessarily. Won’t come back except for the biscuits & salads maybe.
