As a pioneer of yakiniku with now more than 70 years of history, MANPUKU brings you the authentic “Taste of Tokyo” experience focuses on bites of raw protein and vegetables cooked tableside over small grills and eaten fresh and hot.

MANPUKU, which means “to be happy with a full stomach” in Japanese, brings interactive Japanese yakiniku dining to Dallas with its first Texas restaurant, slated to open on Lower Greenville June 29.

Ive been to a few other Japanese bbq restaurants before and let’s just say that this place isn’t bad given the area that it is in. We did the American wagyu tasting and although meat portions itself isn’t filling for 2, I got full after eating all the prior courses like the edamame and salad. The kimchi and cucumber salad was too salty to enjoy and not like your authentic or typical Korean comparisons. Something I really did enjoy was the garlic fried rice as it was made in a stone bowl to have some crispiness in it. Our waitress was amazing but overall the food alone was okay to me. I’ve experienced a lot of Asian cuisine myself and I think this place was nice to go to for the experience. I did hear that their meats are imported from Japan though

We chose the Prix Fixe menu and were so glad we did. Every bite was amazing! We tried the yuzu martini and the Japanese highball and found both a perfect balance with the steaks. The restaurant was a comfortable low noise and a beautiful atmosphere for a date.

Great music, very nice & helpful manager Josh, fun cooking your own food. Cool ambience. All of our food came out of order which we didn’t like. Weird flow on how the food came out to the table. Waitress did not explain much other than the name of each food. She needed to help us with the quantity’s better. You get 6 very thin slices of meat for a high price.

I went to Manpuku for the first time this past Friday and it was excellent! Our server was Abi and he provided such excellent service and was very informative on the meat and what we were eating. Everything was amazing and the food was great. Abi was the best! I will definitely be coming back

Let me start with saying I’m never one to write reviews. Me and my friend came here because the restaurant next to it was busy, only to find this hidden gem. We got the Manpuku course and every part of the meal from the appetizer to the dessert was BOMB. Our favorite was the skirt steak and the soft serve dessert. This soft serve is extremely underrated. It was recommended, because it was a unique flavor with squid ink in it, but I have never tasted something so delicious in my life. There’s no words to describe the flavor but I will go back just for that dessert. You HAVE to try it. I am still thinking about it today lol Also, Abi, who worked there, was so accommodating and friendly. He made us feel comfortable and made sure our experience was great. I honestly think I would put this restaurant in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Dallas and I go out to eat very often so that says a lot. GO HERE you will not regret it!!!

I enjoy it here. Overall, it’s not very affordable to come often. The meats could have a little bit more marinade/seasoning but I enjoy it here.
