Honored as Belize's Restaurant of the Year 2023. Mambo Restaurant is open nightly for dinner by reservation only. The restaurant sits under an open air thatched palapa offering a laid-back back elegant experience with a focus on beef and local seafood. Our intimate, candlelit dining space is exclusively reserved for ADULTS ONLY seeking an unforgettable culinary experience.

Mambo Bistro – a casual beachfront dining experience with casual fare open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offerings, inspired by their French upbringing and training with a local Belizean twist.

Please be aware that Mambo Restaurant provides a mature dining environment, with a MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT OF 16 YEARS. For parties of 6 or more guests, a deposit of US$25 per person is required upon booking, credited towards the final bill.

Wonderful setting at Mambo set in the Matachica Resort. Perfect combination of ambiance and o really dining experience. Staff was exceedingly gracious and attentive, Moses made excellent t recommendations to include our fresh catch main course of of the snapper and curry shrimp, very pleasing. Great experience Mambo, thank Matachica Team and the vision of Mr Lighter!!!

Mambo was far and away the BEST dinner we had on Ambergris and it was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Service was very friendly & attentive, and ambience was serene, beautiful, and relaxing for a couple. Nice wines and drink list. The bread and salads were so good and fresh. My husband had Banana Leaf Cooked Snapper and I had Seared Tuna; both were some of the best fish we've had. We both cleaned our plates! Dessert was Pearl’s Crunchy Pecan Tart and it was perfect for us. I only wish we could have come more than once but we were staying about 20 minutes away by golf cart. It was SO worth it though... if you are staying on Ambergris do not miss Mambo <3

We went to Mambo’s after trying their bistro which was amazing! We went to have our once a week date night and it was excellent. Our Waitress Abby was quick to get us seated and from there on out the service was exceptional. I had the seafood linguini and my husband had the seafood curry. Both had great flavors and I really appreciated the homemade pasta. All in all it was a fabulous date night and we will be back again

Food was ok, if expensive. Very good, quick service, but in and out in 45 minutes so not really a fine dining experience. Music was being played in the restaurant, live music in the bar outside and then more noise from the bistro restaurant. Not really a fine dining experience at a cost of about $180US.

Breakfast at Mambos was excellent. We were greeted right away and sat at a table with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. Jasmine our waitress was very attentive and showed us the evening menus because we said we were thinking of coming again for supper another night. Beautiful atmosphere will for sure be back again

Drove over an hour to get to the restaurant and we were not able to stay and eat as the mosquitoes were so bad that they were all over the table as well as attacking us. The restaurant offered us bug spray which did not help. They needed to have fans up and treat the grounds around it. After sitting they did try to assist with incense and candles but that should have been done prior to sitting customers. Did not stay long enough to have dinner given that experience. So disappointed.

The food was excellent, the music (man & woman playing guitar, singing ……… very nice), and the evening was made extra special by our server, Archy, who was absolutely fabulous…….. one of the best we’ve ever had anywhere in the world! Thank you Archy & Mambos for a wonderful evening as my wife and I celebrated our 51st Anniversary along with friends. Ron B.

Vibes, location and food were all amazing! Unfortunately our server, who was working on December 21st was terrible. He had a super nervous, frantic energy and lacked basic people skills. He honestly ruined the vibe so much that we closed out and had dessert at the bistro. Our server there was amazing and saved the night! Her name was Delsie.

The restaurant is in beautiful resort setting. We didn't stay at thec resort but we enjoyed a peaceful lunch. Prices are in USD. Not inexpensive but good food.

Beautiful setting. Food is good. Service was a bit slow… slower than usual. Overall a wonderful evening. Boat arrived on time for pick up at our dock and a very pleasant ride to restaurant.

Beautiful venue, impeccable service and delicious food. Great for a special occasion. We had a problem with transportation that they offer but it was rectified promptly and we were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival. The dessert was also complimentary for a birthday I was celebrating. The experience was great. Would definitely eat there again.

It’s a fine dining experience. Food was excellent, service was attentive, and ambiance was romantic. I would recommend booking right before the sunset as the restaurant faces the beach.

Had a wonderful seafood pasta and nice bottle of Argentinian wine. The quality and taste of the food was as to be expected, given the restaurant's origins / pedigree. I would love to go back and try additional items.

The resort is beautiful. The restaurant was fabulous. Everything from the decor, food and service was excellent. It was worth the drive there. They have a really cool bar too that is built around a huge tree. Very unique!

Absolutely the best restaurant in BELIZE! Presentation was beautiful and flavor was heavenly. Absolute must try is the KEY LIME PIE(definitely not your normal presentation) delicious. Great service as well. Definitely going back before I head home.

My daughter got sick from The sorbet. She has a egg and milk allergy. Not sure that the ingredients are. The mosquitoes were horrendous

The service and food were excellent. The low lighting and ocean view made for a perfect dinner. The crab claw was the most tender I have ever had! Love this place. Very serene and quiet.

Beautiful location with nice ambiance. The food was amazing and wine selection was good. The waitress told us our credit card was declined and we thankfully had enough cash on hand, but when we called our bank it turned out they didn’t actually run the card. A bit of stress to an otherwise perfect evening - but bring cash just in case.

Mambo is one of the better restaurants on the island. However they add a 15% service fee to all bills and in my case at least it was not proactively disclosed. Just check your billing details before determining your tip.

Ridiculously great . Snapper in banana leaves may be the best fish meal ever. Coconut dream and key lime deserts divine. Totally different from its French Laundry heritage but equally marvelous in its own way. Nice job

This was the last night of our trip and we wanted to return to Mambo as it had been our best dining during the week. It didn’t disappoint and once again it was terrific.

Don’t know. I was unaware that it was an adults only resort so when we presented with our 9 year old daughter I was turned away. Would have appreciated a warning and would have made other arrangements. Was to have been the dinner our last nite and the. Had to scramble. Very disappointed

I was given a menu with some gross gooey stuff on the opening page. Asked for another menu only to find bits of food on the dessert page. I didn't ask for another. It wasn't busy at all. There were only two other tables of guests that night. Yet, service was sketchy. Took a long time between asking for something and actually getting it. Food was good, and we all agreed to have dessert. Waited a long time to ask our waiter for the dessert menu and again waited a long time before actually receiving the dessert menu. Then we waited such a long time for our waiter to take our dessert order, that we all decided to skip dessert and get the hell out of there. Our bill was presented with a mandatory 15% tip. I hate when restaurants do that. We usually tip between 25-30%. But if all you want is a 15% tip, we made that happen and not a penny more.

As usual, great service, food, and of course ambiance and view. Mambo is now firmly our xmas tradition for the best pace to meet up for Xmas day brunch. Bistro day many has great variety and good value for money, good place for all year round frankly.
