Three of us went for dinner, our third time there. We were going to sit on the patio,but decided to sit inside due to humidity. We each ordered a drink, which took awhile to get. Service was decent, but spotty, like the drinks and food took awhile, two meals were hot, but the other cool. Two other people brought our stuff. We still hadn't gotten our appetizer when we got our meals and it was pretty cool, like it had been sitting around. Overall, we like this place, the food is good and the place is cool. Just an off night, I guess.

Ordered the nachos and was disappointed. In the past they have been served individually cut with beans, cheese, meat, etc. Yesterday, they were a jumbled mess piled in bowl. Barely any cheese, meat and no beans. I wish the server would have mentioned the change in how they were being served. Also, my daughter's chicken was served at room temperature. Server was nice but it took her at least 10 minutes to remember to bring sweetener for my iced tea. I hope this was an off night and not the new norm for this restaurant. We do eat here frequently so I have experienced great food and service in the past.

All the food we had was amazing from the Chilaquiles Verdes to the Ranch Hand Breakfast and the chocolate chip pancakes. My daughter had a hot chocolate that was very watery. Our amazing waitress came back with a delicious fresh one (rather than just adding to the one we had like we asked). All of the staff was very kind and attentive.

Our server was great. The food was Ok. I made a reservation for 6 at 1:15. We got there at 1pm, so we had to wait. There was no place for us to wait outside and be able to sit. I had friends from church who are in their 80s. They really can’t stand in the hot sun. The restaurant needs to provide some more seating and more shade. I asked Ryan, the Host at Mama’s, if we could sit in the bar area. He said OK. I was holding a small container of cheese left over from church coffee hour that I didn’t want to leave in a hot car. Ryan told me I couldn’t bring any outside food in. I said we weren’t going to eat it. He asked if I could put it in my purse. I said my purse was only 1” wide and 6” long. Ryan has become the self appointed sheriff at Mama’s. I took two guests today. I usually go with my 5 neighbors. They won’t eat at Mama’s anymore because of Ryan’s tactics. The Lawton’s really need to find another host and make sure their host and hostesses understand the difference in hosting and law enforcement.

I ordered the roasted chicken, which was quite delightful. The rest of my party ordered special appetizers and drinks. We ordered desserts and really wanted your carrot/ cheesecake. To our disappointment, none was available. Other than that, everything is very good. I just don’t like to have to ask for water all the time.

So this was our first visit since Cappy reopened our once-favorite breakfast/lunch spot post-renovation and we were a tiny bit disappointed in the menu changes made. The renovations were not as extensive as we thought - gone were the jukeboxes in the booths and the vintage beer cans (at least some of the vintage license plates were still there, though most were replaced with newer personalized plates), but the general feel was still the same as it was when I worked there back in the 80's for a few years. Thank goodness the fried mushrooms are still on the menu and are still as good as they once were! The chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken were also very tasty. The drinks were very good, but did get much smaller than they used to be (margaritas now in a rocks glass?), but they were still tasty. The one big complaint I had is that I can't get a bean burger anymore - that was one of the best burgers here! Other than that, our next visit will be to try brunch.

The ladies at the host stand were friendly and smiling when I arrived for the reservation at 11:15 am on a Saturday. Keith was an attentive server. The Chicken and waffle was delicious with every bite. Hibiscus mimosa was a great addition to my meal. I would recommend a reservation as there were people waiting for tables my entire time there.

First time here. And we had an amazing experience all around! Food. Service. Atmosphere. I can see this place making it into my top 5 all-time favorite restaurants easily! Highly recommended making a reservation in advance. I'm not the only person in love with this place.

Food was good enough but I had the redfish. A half of one side was served whereas in the past a whole filet would have been served. Clear case of shrinkflation. Got our first food around forty minutes after we sat down. Seemed very slow.

All three meals we ordered were delicious. Blackened salmon, redfish and pork chops. Cornbread is a must. Fried green tomatoes were good. Server could have been more attentive but was sweet.

I asked for any salsa or jalapenos to be put on the side of the nachos, as I dislike overly spicy food. The beans on the nachos were so spicy I had to order something else which could have been avoided if she mentioned the beans were hot too. Our waitress disappeared for a long time. I had to get up twice to search for a menu and then to find someone to reorder. The only lettuce in the chicken caesar salad was iceberg and there was little chicken. Even Chick fil a and La Madeleine both beat this salad hands down.

I really enjoy Mama's Cafe. I was a bit disappointed that we taken to a booth that has tiny seats when my guest, my son, is definitely a big guy. He was openly embarrassed that he couldn't fit in it and we had to be seated elsewhere. Our food was good as usual although I'm not sure if it was the knife I had or the pork chops were really that tough. Surprisingly, the worst thing I've ever had there. I'll still go there because the atmosphere is lively and the service always great.

Made reservations because it was Superbowl Sunday and Valentine's around the corner. I made the reservation about two weeks prior. Apparently they were closeing the kitchen at 3:00 becuase of the Superbowl...but neglected to mention when I made the reservation. Never received prior notice of that happening. OUr reservation was for 2:45. Received a text, received while we were on our way, that we could come early because of this closure. Was not able to respond. We were able to order and eat, but felt rushed while we were there. Upset that that this obviously was a last minute decision and we were not told until minutes before our reservation. We were not happy and did not appreciate being put in that situation. Will consider somewhere else in the future.
