Maie Day is bringing prime time to South Congress Ave every Friday lunch, from 11AM-3PM, or ‘til sold out!* Enjoy a thick slice of famous wagyu prime rib with au jus and horseradish cream for $19, sliced hot & to order by Chef Michael Fojtasek from Maie Day’s premier tableside prime rib cart. Add on creamed kale and mashed potatoes for $8 each for a full plate. Dig in while you jam along to live music by Austin’s own Grateful Dead tribute band, Fennario Flats and save room for a Gimme Burger: the full brunch and bar menu is available to order, too. Management went above and beyond when we were sat late, despite having a reservation. The food was incredible. The only drawbacks were that the AC seemed to be broken and bar service was fairly slow. Overall, we had a very good experience!

Most of the food was excellent. We ordered the corn bread and didnt eat it because it was terrible and the wait staff just took it away without saying anything. The crab claws are served swimming in a pool of butter - just unnecessary. But the prime rib and grilled oysters were amazing, and the fish was even better - delish! The biggest issue is that it was HOT in the restaurant. Everyone was sweating. We noticed on the way out they had a portable air cooler running... So clearly it's an issue. We will wait until it's cooler out and go back.

Miae Day was phenomenal. Great food with wonderful service. Shareable plates made it very easy when ordering. The meat (especially the prime rib) was very tender and the oysters were great too! To top it off, the red wine and chocolate cake were out of this world! Highly recommend for special occasions.

Food and drink = delicious! No question. I rated low for ambience though because the restaurant was next to empty at 8pm on a Saturday, it was strange. It was also extremely, extremely pit smoky and too warm for our guys inside. We kept saying we needed AC.

The air conditioning was not working properly and it was very hot. Also, because of the wood fire nature of the wood and open oven & kitchen it is very smoky and smells like a campfire

Maie Day overall was not as good as the first time I visited. The restaurant was warm and humid. Definitely felt like there was a problem with A/C. The service was just okay and the food was overpriced for what was served.

Restaurant wasn’t busy but our server wasn’t very attentive and kept forgetting to bring things we had asked for. Food was ok but we won’t be rushing back.

You must hit the lobby lounge before your meal. Everything went well with dinner. I would only suggest dropping that Colme Malbec for a better Malbec. Please also consider adding some Texas wines. I have one of the largest collections of Texas wine. If you ever want to do a tasting, let me provide that! Teach your staff how to open a bottle of wine. Taylor could use just a little more training to get it right! Food was great! We will be back. Thanks to hostess for bumping out our res by 15 minutes!
