Lucille’s was amazing! Every single bite of food (appetizers…..dinners and desserts) and sip of cocktails AMAZING! Great atmosphere and service as well! We will definitely return for that delicious soul food!

We've been to Lucille's plenty of times and the food is always good. However yesterday we felt that it must have been an off day. We ordered braised oxtail and the meat was tough and dry most of the meat stuck to the bone. Next was the fish fry was dry, didn't taste the vinegerette that was supposed to be on there. Now to the good dishes, the Mac and cheese, the Brussel sprouts, the octopus and the corn bread was good! We hope the kitchen has better quality for the entrées next time.

The place itself was beautiful! I enjoyed the ambiance, the staff was great. I believe our server was new because she didn’t go into detail of the menu like other servers we heard near our table. I ended up getting a dish she recommended but the menu didn’t fully describe the dish and the waitress didn’t either so I was surprised when the crusted fish came out on top of vegetables in a broth. It was off putting and something, I believe was Tarragon, over powered the flavors and the fish. Didn’t enjoy it at all. My mother’s meal was great! Overall a descent experience. Maybe I should’ve got what they were known for, the Bananas Foster but by the end of our meal I wasn’t interested in anything else. Not bad, just ask for a description of what you’re ordering so you’re not disappointed and surprised.

The food hotness and presentation has went down. Chicken wasn’t fresh and Brussels sprouts tasted like popcorn . Drinks were barely filled and no kick. Mimosas were 80% juice .

Food was mid. I had the chicken and waffles and my friend had the oxtail omelette. We also ordered grits and a side of potatoes. EVERYTHING was missing seasoning. Grits was missing butter, they added cheese on top that didn’t even melt all the way. The oxtail had a piece of bone my friend had to spit out. We had to keep adding salt to our food. We bonded with the couple next to us about how bland the food was. The only thing that had good mentions was the French toast. Server was really nice and engaging. Strawberry lemonade was pretty good too. Not worth the $100 we spent.

I had family visiting from NJ/NY and wanted to share my experience with Lucille’s! The service was excellent! We had a young kid working only two months and his service and demeanor was both professional and timely! He checked on us constantly and did so with a smile!! The FOOD…so delicious! Cannot go wrong with the Chicken and French Toast!! I always look forward to going back!

We sat outside for brunch. They had a great jazz band. The drink were good and the food was delicious. It had a New Orleans feel which is exactly what I wanted.

Heard nothing but great things about Lucille’s and finally decided to go and try it out to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Great food, good ambiance, and great staff. Will definitely be back!

I had the fried chicken, smoked mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts. The ambience was nice, however, they were playing prince music with no variation. I would highly recommend them and hope to go again.

I love Lucille’s and am never disappointed. Was a really great vibe inside. My plus one inhaled the hot chicken sandwich. So, I am certain it was good and I had my usual - the Best Friends cocktail and french toast croissants with wings. We shared fried green tomatoes as an appetizer (which our generous server comped). The only thing that would’ve possibly made it better was outdoor patio seats so we could enjoy the live jazz.

Waiter was friendly, professional &attended to our party very well. The family was 8 people. Mom’s b-day, 4 of 8 out of towners, including myself who first heard of the business on a national news show a year ago. We sampled the menu 0/5: boudin balls 3/5, chili biscuits 4.5/5, fried green tomatoes 4.5/5,oxtails & grits 2/5, yardbird dark meat 4.7/5, catfish & grits 3/5, blackened fish 2.5/5, shrimp &grits 2.5/5, hot rolls 0/5, cocktails. The presentation was excellent, portion size satisfying. The boudin balls, oxtails, fish (I called it blackened but my sister ordered it so not sure of the name but it’s the one with the black eyed peas rice etc), rolls, not hot when they got to the table. The fried green tomatoes and chili biscuits were tasty. Come as small biscuits x4. Good for 4 people. The fried green tomatoes crisp batter & truffle sauce compliments their flavor. Boudin balls might have been better if weren’t lukewarm. Definitely not as flavorful as expected being from SE Texas and so close to Louisiana. Yard bird was flavorful, crispy, & collards over mashed potatoes were complimentary. This was the best dish we received overall. The oxtails were not seasoned enough/on the bland side and some parts were not very tender, but were the larger cuts so could have been phenomenal but missed the mark. 3 of 3 said it was not served hot, ‘okay’, & 2 of 3 who ordered it decided they would take it home to season some more, bake it, and see what happens…at $38x3, wanted more than so-so. The catfish appeared authentic, fried to good texture/crisp but again on the bland side, the grits were warm but not hot. The shrimp with the shrimp and grits looked so pale. Not a fan of tail-on shrimp in shrimp & grits and they look steamed, no sear, not much seasoning if any, while served hot, it was ‘okay’. The rolls were cold not good texture. $550 total spent. 2.5/5 overall due to hit or miss. Disappointed from Dallas me +2 daughters, Beaumont sis & mom, and Houston 2 sis&niece

If you’re in Houston, this is a must! The croissant French toast was beautifully made and equally amazing in taste. Add the wings too bc they are delicious and fall right off the bone! Food came out super fast and hot! Love that! Will be back next time I’m in houston!

We went for Easter brunch. The food was delicious and the food was delivered timely and hot. We did not have to wait on our food despite a very full restaurant. We did have to wait in drinks but not too long. We had a great meal

Was excited to try Lucille’s and we went for Easter Brunch. The atmosphere was fun and nice, attentive and friendly waitstaff. We ordered the biscuits, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and Mac and cheese. The best was the waffles. Although the Mac and cheese has gotten rave reviews, we found it to be just okay. The shrimp and grits also were fine but a bit bland. We enjoyed the experience but were a little underwhelmed with the taste of the food

I ate at Lucille’s for Easter brunch. I did not appreciate being greeted with being told we had 90 minutes to spend there. It ruined my experience. The collard green were very bland and did not taste southern at all. The chili cheese biscuits were good. The service was not the best. The fried green tomatoes were good. I did not feel welcomed and will not go there again unless I am invited to an event. My experience was not in alignment with what I had heard and read about Lucille’s. It is not good value for the money spent.

Chicken was a little bland, but other food was excellent! Had reservations, but still had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated. Our first time dining there, so will give it another try. Overall a good experience!

4 guest, $359 I expected better tasting food and halfway decent service. From the time we walked in at the host stand, the attitudes were horrible. Very disappointed since we really wanted to make this our go to spot.

My friends and I have wanted to check out this restaurant for a couple years, and finally we booked our reservation. On the day of our brunch we reserved a table at 12:15p, due to the restaurant being severely behind we weren’t seated until after 1pm. Upon being seated we were told that we only had an 1 hour and a half from when we were seated at the table due to them closing at 3pm. This was the first irritating issue, however we moved on from that thought. Our waiter Q was nice, however, seemed extremely rushed and forgetful of items. We placed our orders, two fried green tomatoes and one order of chili biscuits. The tomatoes arrived, however, the biscuits did not. When I asked about the biscuits I was told that if they didn’t come with the tomatoes that means they must be out. This caught me off guard because I then wondered if the order was placed when everything else was put in, I don’t believe they were. We then ordered our entrees, and there was nothing to run home and talk about. I ordered the catfish and grits, it was terrible. The entire meal was flavorless and I barely touched it. I also ordered a waffle, that was not added to my order. It was put in after we already started eating, and honestly it could have stayed in the kitchen. A friend stated “the Tabasco” was the best part of the meal. The drinks were good. Q tried to make things right, he adjusted my bill. But, honestly we will never return, my experience was subpar. My friends and I are foodies, and love trying new restaurants. I would suggest walk-ins only if reservations won’t be honored, serving better tasting and hot food, and not limiting guest to a table time based on when they are seated. There were other people that came in after us who got hot food, and others looked meh. Unfortunately, one of the friends with me warned me of her experience back in 2019, which was similar. Needless to say, she won’t return. We are still upset we spent money on this experience.

I went to Lucille's for the first time last night with 2 girlfriends because I was looking up restaurants in Montrose, and they had good reviews. Also, they were running a promotion through the inkind app for $25 off of your next meal of $75+, which solidified our decision. We arrived a few minutes past our reservation but were met with a warm welcome anyways and were sat right away. We didn't like the location of the table they selected for us, so we asked to be sat somewhere else, which they accommodated without a problem. Our waiter greeted us in a timely manner with waters and was knowledgeable enough about the menu to make some recommendations, all of which were tasty. I had the Lucina cocktail, and it was delicious. We ordered the chili biscuits as an app, and they were great! I just wish the order was a bit more generous. For my entree, I had the watermelon feta salad and added shrimp. It was yummy! They left the tails of the shrimp on, which I always ask myself, "why do people leave the tails on?" (lol). We also ordered the mac and cheese for the table, and it was really good! Flavorful but not swimming in cheese. We got the lemon pie for dessert and that was just okay. When we went to pay, we ran into a hiccup with the promotion, so the manager had to apply the discount manually, but we were able to pay separately as we requested. Our waiter and the manager seemed a little bit frustrated with us at the end of our visit, maybe because of our persistence to have the discount manually applied as our uber was already arriving. Regardless, I would come back and reccomend this restaurant to those looking for something yummy. Thank you, Lucille's!

Brunch ends at 3 and kitchen closes an hour before so come early not to be rushed! aside from that one of the best brunch spots in town.

Wow wow wow!!!! Everytime I come to Houston, Lucille’s is always on my to go list! The food blows my mind every single time. The braised oxtails were so delicious. The portion sizes are huge and you will definitely have leftovers for the next day. This visit, I tried a cup of their gumbo with shrimp and I was speechless! Lucille’s gumbo was the best gumbo I've had in a very long time. I've been to New Orleans several times and I could never find a delicious gumbo. Who would have thought that the best gumbo would be found in Houston (my personal opinion)? Please keep the gumbo on your menu! Perhaps, an entree size would great as well!😉 I have to give a special shout out to our server, Tatiana! She is the real deal! Tatiana is so kind, personable, efficient and provides excellent service. My mom and I have had the pleasure of receiving excellent service from her, twice. Thank you Tatiana for being an instrumental part of our trips to Houston! We look forward to returning very soon. ☺️

Amazing flavors, perfect execution. The dining room is a little bit lacking in ambience, but a seat at the bar is the perfect place to soak up the vibe and eat some of the most creative “comfort food” we’ve had anywhere in the country
