    Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh! Valentine was very attentive and walked us through our wine and food pairings perfectly.

    Came to Lovis for a special Birthday meal with 5 people. Food - Not very exciting. Called german fine dining so we took friends from abroad here for that reason. However I can't name one course that felt at all German. The lettuce under the lettuce sorbet looked old. The deconstructed lemon tart was messy. The food was just rather underwhelming and flavourless, and small portions - all left hungry. Wine - Lovely German and Austrian wines. Only alcohol free sparkling was a very sweet Rose, almost a pudding wine, not for an aperitif. Setting - Exceptional. Very atmospheric. No suggestions Service - Could be improved. No-one to welcome us into the restaurant, empty counter, just walked in and found the empty table (that as ours). We had three different servers, felt a bit chaotic, rushed, no-one introduced themselves. In a fine dining restaurant I would expect one server to say 'hello my name is ..... i will be looking after you for the evening..." That didn't happen. One server presented a course while still having a mouthful full of food in his mouth. Overall- Disappointing. Was really looking forward to this. Having had other fine dining abroad and in Berlin - it was sub par. I would expect a lot more in Berlin at 99 euros a head. Style over substance.

    The ambience was incredible. The perfect setting for a night of intimate fine dining. The staff was fully competent and wonderfully attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. We both had the 4 course meal with wine pairing. We both found the wine pairings to be extraordinarily well done. As is to be expected with a multi-course meal, the portions were smaller than they would have been on the a-la-carte menu. Nevertheless, I felt they were still a bit on the small side.

    Wonderful food in the unusual location of an old woman's prison converted to a warm, elegant restaurant. The food was excellent. Beautiful presented delicious menu.
