WHO ARE WE?
We’re the second generation of two Greek families that came to Canada to open some of Vancouver’s longest running restaurants.

Now, we’re taking everything we’ve learned from them to offer a brand new dining experience.

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT?
Loula’s is the Greek nostalgia of our upbringing infused with modern dining trends that have intrigued us. The atmosphere and cuisine are an homage to our namesake, a woman dear to our hearts who always leaves you in good spirits with a full stomach. Expect that overwhelmingly authentic Greek experience when you step through our doors—along with a few other things you won’t expect. You’ll just have to trust us.

WHERE ARE WE?
We’re located in the heart of Commercial drive, a spot we feel quite at home in. If you know anything about The Drive, you know it’s warm, vivacious and a little kooky.

This is our second time at Loula's. The first was last summer, spur of the moment on a hot summer night. It was one of those nights when everything went well. We thought we would try it again. Our table was in between three very loud ladies and a family table of ten. It was so loud we had to shout across at each other. We had an early reservation as we had an event to go to later. The service was very good and friendly. We had a glass of wine and a cocktail. This time instead of appetizers we each had a main. Seafood orzo was my husband"schoice and I had the pastitsio. We both enjoy cooking and are pretty skilled. Both the entrees lacked flavour and the pastisio was very dry. We left feeling that most people were there to see and be seen and not for the food. It is doubtful that we will return.

My daughter and I went for dinner at loula's to celebrate her birthday. We were seated right away and were brought water within minutes. We started with the hummus and pita and I had an IPA. The hummus is outstanding! We then had the saganaki (fried Greek cheese) which my daughter had never had, it was delicious! For our main dish we had spanakopita (spinach pie) and I have to say it's the best spanakopita I've ever had!!! I then ordered the orange cake for my daughter (it was her birthday after all) and she said it was amazing! Our server was friendly, polite, personable and attentive in all the right ways! An excellent night out!!!

The food was fantastic – playfully elevated Greek dishes, with thoughtfully paired wines and interesting cocktails. The room is cozy and elegant, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. And, in a nice change of pace for Vancouver restaurants, the music was well-curated and actually added to the ambiance.
