First time in Chicago so first time having deep dish pizza. Enjoying both Chicago and this deep dish pizza! We shared the caeser salad which was also very good. We made reservations for Friday night which was a wise choice, I strongly encourage reservations! Our server was also great.

I made a reservation here. Due to no traffic, I arrived early and checked in with the hostess. After nearly 30 minutes I was finally seated. The table hadn’t been cleaned and there were used napkins on the floor. The manger brought over utensils for me to use; there was food residue on them, so I requested another. My server, Matthew was the only great thing during my dining experience. He was attentive and pleasant. When my pizza arrived, there was an unidentifiable liquid running off of it (not grease). The dessert cookie was average. This place is supposed to famous and bursting with flavor. I’ll try it again, but at a different location.

Everyone ordered a different pizza and while I am a big eater the small would have been big enough for me. The personal size would have been enough Excellent service and great pizza. Would definitely return.

Service was very good. Our only issue is with the menu. Be prepared if you order an individual salad, it is for two people. We made the mistake of each ordering an individual salad and we couldn’t finish the salads and we most definitely could not finish that really good pizza.

Sometimes Deep Dishes can be too pastry-like. Not this pizza. Excellent crust. Tangy sauce. Other food on menu very good, too.

I forgot his name but i believe it was Danny ? (male server with a streak of dyed hair) and he was so kind! As someone who works in restaurants i really appreciate when servers are authentically nice. It was my boyfriends first time in chicago and first time having THE deep dish and he absolutely loved it. :)

We were a party of 10, pre presented pizzas and they initially could not find pre order. Causing delays, once order found and appetizers placed waiter never came back around to see if we wanted more drink, once pizza’s came server gave everyone their first piece but rather than place on plate and deliver he scooped up slices on serving utensil and carried it to the table setting. Never came came back to ask if we wanted more, my guests got up and served themselves until someone noticed… very poor service… disappointing as these guest were first timers to Chicago

Gluten free is our lifestyle , that being said I can only comment on the gf pizza. We knew it would take time to prep and that was fine but the pizza came out cold. We were not the complaining type we just ate what was delivered to the table . The Caesar salad was good and thoroughly enjoyed it. Chicago deep dish experience was not so great .especially for folks who don’t eat pizza regularly Out of town visitors from Philly.

Food was great. Service was lackluster. Took awhile to get seated and simple things like plates for desert seemed like a hassle for the server to provide. Wish it was a more positive service.

This was my first time in Chicago and I wanted to try authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. The restaurant is very nice with a great atmosphere and the service was great. I tried the spinach bread which was awesome. The pizza is a matter of taste. For me, the crust tasted underdone and the flavor was very mild. I personally prefer New York pizza, but i think the Lou Manalti’s is the place for deep dish.

We visited the Lou’s at 405 Michigan with our extended family and it was fine. The pizza was okay but not as good as we remembered. My husband and I ordered personal pan pizzas (the Lou and the Chicago Classic) and sadly they were very soggy (but the flavors were good). I’d made reservations and we’d really looked forward to this but we were seated so my only view was the lady’s restroom. A disappointing experience for me. On the plus side, our server was very nice and the location is convenient for Michigan Ave shoppers. In the future, we’ll stick to the Gold Coast location.

Pizza was excellent. Service was good. They were slammed so tough to criticize because they looked like they were all working hard. Only critique is that we made the reservation and ordered ahead but it still took 30 min to get our pizza after sitting down. Our reservation was for 7:45, sat down at 8 and received pizza at 8:30. Kind of surprised our pizza took so long when we pre ordered it and they said it would be ready upon arrival.

A great deep-dish pizza parlor. Make sure to reserve a table. We had a reservation, but those walking in the door were told the wait was 90 minutes (on a Saturday night in April). The crust is buttery (maybe a tad too much for my liking) and thick, and the pizzas are made-to-order and super fresh. I like that you could order an individual size so each person can get their own. The sizes were just right, not too big. I had sausage with fresh tomatoes and my companion had a veggie pizza. Both were delicious (although I have to say I like the sausage used at local competitor Giordano's better). It's a 45-minute wait to cook the pizza (which they tell you up front), so get that order in first and then order any apps you want. The Caesar Salad is quite nice. Soda refills are free, and service was great. It's definitely a casual atmosphere (more pub-like with lots of large screen TVs).

Wonderful experience! Food was amazing, pricey but so tasty! We made reservations two days previous & just walked right in to our table upon arrival at restaurant! Great!! - Also, one of our party is allergic to food odors so we asked for table farthest from kitchen at the back. And we had the perfect table in a back alcove. It was perfect!

Table was not a great location, lots of through traffic including carts of ice and having to move in order for them to get through. Waited was mediocre, forgetting several things and not very attentive.

It was very busy so we kept that in mind regarding the service. We shared the gluten free deep dish pizza which I do not recommend. The toppings were quite tasty, however the crust was challenging to eat. Very tough and chewy.

Great experience! Very busy place but for a reason. Pizza was fantastic. You gotta go with the butter crust! Courteous server. And had leftovers to bring home. Will definitely go to Lou Malnati’s whenever in Chicago.

We had a nice time. We were seated fairly quickly and with pre-ordering our pizza we didn’t have to wait a long time. Our service was excellent and the food was good

Not a great experience at Lou’s. While the wait time was impeccable as opposed to previous visits, the food was overcooked, the service was timely but not warm. We felt like an inconvenience to our server. The bathrooms were not clean or stocked with paper goods. Even after telling staff, more people ended up trapped in the stalls waiting on a Good Samaritan to “spare a square”. Overall our worst experience at a Lou’s which is a bummer because it’s always the first stop on every trip into the city. We likely won’t be returning to this location, and will try another pizzeria instead.
