Longhorn smokehouse is new restaurant located within Wrest Point.

We’re taking a modern approach to the traditional flavours and ‘low and slow method’ of Southern American BBQ. Sink your teeth into the best grilled, smoked, and baked meats, sourced from the finest local producers. All against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent.

In other words, it’s your classic American smokehouse, done the Tasmanian way.

We really like this place. A few service slips from inexperienced wait staff but this was more entertaining than anything else. Love the food although the wings had changed and weren't quite as good as previously. The corn ribs are the best thing on the menu IMO - Just love them. The only real let down is the drinks list - Very poor, very few options, small and poor wine choices especially when trying to match a nice red to the lovely steaks, etc. But overall it's very comfortable, quick enough and enough service (overstaffed as you'd expect for a casino but that's to the customer's advantage), love the food and it's a nice place to relax and enjoy a good feed. We'll be back again at some point.

Had a fantastic night at Longhorn Smokehouse. Food brilliant. Big thank you to our lovely server Sheila (sorry about the spelling), she was fantastic, an asset to Longhorn. Will recommend to friends if they are travelling to Hobart. We will be back for sure. Leone Cooling

The drinks were excellent. Cocktails were really nice and we had a really good bottle of Malbec. The food was ok. We ordered the 'feed me' package for $75pp. There was ample food, we left with very full bellies, however, the food was just 'OK'. Nothing was OMG, the food could have been warmer across the board, and there wasn't really anything that I couldn't have cooked better myself. It wasn't bad, but just ok...The desserts however were bad! Mass-produced catering style mini-desserts, like you would collect at a budget buffet. The chocolate-caramel item was inedible. Service, again, 'ok'...we were told to leave the wine to breath and they would be back to pour for us, didn't happen. A bit over-attentive at times, but also inattentive - empty glasses and plates were left on the table far too long but managed to ask how the food was several times. Sadly not the wow experience we were hoping for, however was passable.

We had a very long wait for our food - nearly an hour. Left us rushing at the end as we had a show to get to. No one came to check on us or ask if we wanted another drink. Our waitress could have used some pointers from the person waiting the next table - she was friendly, made suggestions and recommendations about the menu etc while our lady gave a minimal explanation. Lucky the food was good or we would not be going back or recommending to others

Steaks weren’t cooked as requested both were under. Sauces were very average. Corn bread was the only bread option and so sweet we didn’t eat it. Great service from polite and friendly wait staff. But to pay 70 -80 for a very average meal was disappointing. Won’t go again.

Chips were under cooked and still hard in the middle of the big chips and steak wasn't medium/well more medium but staff friendly and atmosphere good.

Lovely restaurant, some items in the pricey side. Service very friendly, we were well looked after! Steak and chicken excellent, great drink recommendations too. Thank you for a lovely finish to a great short break in Hobart! We will definitely revisit when possible.

We had the $75 PP deal, it was AMAZING! The service was fabulous, especially the man who was at the front reception. The only thing that was disappointing was a loud bunch of girls running in and out of the restaurant squealing and that has nothing to do with the restaurant. we arent against children because we took our baby and everyone who worked there were amazing with him. 100% recommend if you want an amazing meal and service!

Great food, service. Table was a little too close on both sides, so we could hear the sweet nothings from the couple besides us! 2 out of the 3 steaks were great, one was a little tough and on hindsight, should've asked for a replacement. Desserts were fantastic. Overall, great and would have received 5 stars for food if all 3 steaks were perfectly cooked.

We had a party of 15, with a last minute extra 2. Staff was very accommodating, food was delicious (We all had the Master smoker's platter) For $75 a head, for a Three course meal, it was definitely value for money. We had heaps of left overs to take home. Highly recommend

Really enjoyed our dinner. The staff are absolutely top shelf. Food is amazing. Definitely worth a visit. The only issue is the prices are extremely high for Hobart- but maybe I’m old fashioned 🤣 Free parking. You can’t really go wrong. Great place 🥰

Delishious food, however the highlight of the evening was the amazing customer service and genuine engagement from the waitstaff. We felt welcomed, valued and not pressured to leave. Ambiance was great, not too noisy, tables spaced well, great lighting. Will visit again.

Very disappointed with this meal. The steak was chewy and tough and the ribs were very dry. Bought the ribs home and gave them to the dogs. Ate here before and had the set meal and it was delicious. Will go again but only get set meal

Brisket was good, pulled pork was dry and had no flavour. One drink throughout out the night only at the start and left dirty glasses on the table till we left with no offers of refill or other drinks. I feel like I could go to other restaurants and get better value for money.

Amazing meal, service and atmosphere. I could be *super* nitpicky and say the food was a little on the cold side but it didn’t stop us from being very impressed and completely satisfied with our meal. Will definitely be back!

Great service, nice ambience and reasonably priced. Steaks were good however the full rack of pork ribs were very dry. Would likely try again.

Whilst we loved the entree of Marinated and Grilled Calamari, it was perfect actually. The steak for my order was well and truly overdone, simple as that! I had ordered it medium, unfortunately it was more to well done. Staff came and enquired as to how our steaks were, I told her mine was over cooked and we never saw her again. Actually the staff were quite unattentive when it came to our drinks. The evening was very rushed and that made our experience feel very uncomfortable. First time diners and certainly won't be heading back anytime soon.

Dear Sir Evening excellent again. You need to know 62211888 is letting you down when I tried to make a booking on 2 or 3 occasions. I tried to book accommodation twice only to be put on hold for over 9 minutes. Listening all the time to a recording that repeatedly promises first in the cue etc and delivers disappointment. I eventually booked elsewhere. The same happened when I rang the number again to book the Longhorn Restruant. Hope you attend to this problem because we like to stay at Wrest Point if we can book ahead. Kind regards Graham R Gillon

Fantastic service. Erica the manager and our waiter who I have forgotten her name were very attentive and interactive with our table which we really enjoyed. They went above and beyond for a large table and the food was incredible. The only feedback would be allow the feed me option for min of people but don’t restrict it to the whole table. We had one in a group of 8 who didn’t want to do the feed me option due to fear of some new found allergies and food preferences. Which meant the rest of the table were not able to do the feed me option. We would have happily accepted the individuals order may have come out at different times etc and we were comfortable with that. However this didn’t dampen our night and we thoroughly enjoyed the food the venue and the staff.
