Celebrated chef Pablo Salas brings Lona Cocina Tequileria to Fort Lauderdale Beach. Lona, offers an eclectic, modern twist on traditional Mexican cooking in a chic, yet funky environment. A diverse menu includes ceviches, crab-infused guacamole, tostadas, tacos, meats from the grill and shareable sides at an affordable price. Good ambiance and value for the money. My wife and I went on Tuesday night while vacationing in Fort Lauderdale. Would definitely consider going again for happy hour/dinner.

Sitting outside, enjoying the lovely evening. Had the watermelon/ mango lemonade, which I loved. The shrimp and crab enchiladas were divine. Robbie was a great waiter.

we had a very late RSVP but thankfully breakfast was still available and it was great! Cynthia recommended the Carnitas hash and it was lovely. The music was a little to loud for my liking but still comfortable. Thank you Mateo Cynthia thank you Gaby thank you Lina. Thank you yolani Definitely coming back!!

Unfortunately this was the final meal and experience to a wonderful weekend in the area. We were here for dinner Cinco De Mayo. Let’s start on a high note with the appetizer. Their quac with crispy bacon was phenomenal and set high expectations for the meal. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, we thought we’d enjoy a pitcher of Margharitas. My husband and I couldn’t even drink 1/2 of the glass that we poured. It was super acidic and cloudy with what tasted like very limited tequila. Needless to say, it tasted disgusting, and I LOVE a good margherita! This was NOT one of them. The waiter recommended the chicken fajitas and lobster quesadilla. I went with the fajitas. I ate maybe 1/3 since I was hungry, but I was disappointed in the flavoring and temperature. Despite having 2/3 left, I did not want to take it as leftovers because I’d prefer to never taste it again. My husband ordered the all you can eat tacos because he was hungry when we sat down and didn’t want to wait to eat. He said the food was terrible. Sadly, we don’t recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area. You can do much better, just as we did 3 other nights while staying a few doors down on the beach.

Last year was great, but this year we had to order from a limited menu. The Mexican rice was dry and the fish taco was dry. The drinks and the guac were spot on. I will not do another May 5th there if we are stuck with a limited menu.

We ate here for the Sunday Brunch Buffet on Cinco De Mayo. I love Mexican food so was very excited and loved the unlimited drinks option. Our waiter was awesome with keeping Fri kS filled. Margaritas were actually pretty good but Bloody Mary was water down in to small of a glass. The music was very loud - we are outside and were sad the Mariachi Band did not come outside and instead we had loud music. The food was the biggest disappointment. They brought out chips and salsa but there were no chips on the buffet. It was simply a taco bar, omelet station, pancake ect station and salad bar. The website stayes several Other option to at were no available. Very disappointed especially considering the price.

Went for Cinco de Mayo, was swamped and they handled the crowd well. Buffet style for the event had long lines, but that was to be expected. Despite buffet style, food was very good like it has been in each of our visits in the past. Servers were top notch.

Lona is the best all around restaurant! We love coming here because of the easy valet, how quickly they seat you, great service that is attentive from all servers & they always provide fresh, delicious food. Everything on the menu is delicious, but highly recommend the queso fundido & churros!

The food was exactly what we wanted on our first night in town. The service wasn’t overtly friendly but that seems like the new norm. We had the lava cake with berries and ice cream which was amazing.

Waiting Staff is dismissive when you try to ask them for recommendations due to allergen concerns. Waiter stated “ok let me get drinks for other tables because they are waiting for their drinks” when asked for recommendations to avoid food allergens.

What a great time!! We were there on a Thursday and took advantage of the white Sangria “pitcher” which was served in a skull bottle. It was so very tasty! We had great service and the food was amazing with one exception - the fish tacos were mostly breading with very little fish. The steak tacos were fire and so was the guacamole with crab meat!!! I would go back if we were here longer.

The fajitas were unseasoned & covered with a thick sauce. Never received our order of guac (which was fine, it did not appear to be freshly made). Do not recommend.

We had to wait about 15 mins in line even with reservations. We reserved an outdoor table expecting to sit facing the beach but instead were seating in a back patio overlooking the driveway of the hotel. Not a great experience. The buffet was pretty good and our server stayed ontop of drink refills. Probably better off walking in early for Sunday brunch.

I love this place. But it was super crowded. Reserved a table top but they sat us inside because they were over filled. Really noisy. Server was trying to be fun but was a little inattentive. I can’t blame him because they just needed more staff. Still a great place and I’ll be going back. Caught them on a super in demand day.

Busy for a Saturday as was expected. We were seated by the entrance which was less than ideal. Server finally showed up after about 10 min for a drink order. Chips/Salsa a good bit after that. Drinks finally arrive moments before the entrees. Food was decent but the service was horrible. Probably won’t return.
