We were disappointed with this meal: cremini mushrooms had some odd additional spice; trout was accompanied by plain green beans and white rice with some odd vinegar based dipping sauce; paella was largely spiced rice with tiny tiny shrimp, pencil eraser sized scallops (I think); tiny tiny rings of calamari; dry fish pieces; and two scallops smaller than dime. There are hundreds of other restaurants here.

Food was excellent, but the service was a little off; it appeared they were not prepared for the crowds coming in for Jazz Fest. Despite our reservation, we still waited roughly 10mins for our table, and then another 10mins for them to find a chair to complete our party. The food was delicious, but our space was too small for the pans that came with it. Would have preferred a bigger table, since most of the entrees require a lot of space to accommodate the pans they come in. Certainly worth the extra time, so willing to give them a second shot, but another time, maybe not as busy!

We eat at Lola’s yearly when we come to NOLA for JazzFest. The last couple of years we’ve really missed the ‘made in house’ rolls and this year the aioli (which I look forward to all year!) was hardly garlicky and didn’t have that slight lemon ‘punch’ of the past. Very sad! But, the shrimp pasta was its usual excellent! Reserved an outdoor table because last year we FROZE inside!

Service was poor. We had to ask if we had a waiter a couple of times before anyone came over and then she didn’t apologize. She was not knowledgeable of wine list. My appetizer and dinner were good but some of others with me weren’t as pleased with their dinners.

We had to change our reservation VERY late in the day - from 2 to 6! Cafe Nola was very accommodating. Neighborhood is adorable, restaurant itself very charming, food absolutely delicious and George our waiter fantastic. A perfect evening.

The food was mostly good, I wasn't a fan of the special tapas for the day, but I don't believe the food merited the cost. My wife and I were freezing in the restaurant because we were seated under the vents they have no way of blocking the vents in the dining room, and this becomes an issue when it's cold outside and the AC is still running inside. The experience and food just does not merit spending $100+ dollars, there are dozens of other restaurants that are the same price and way better dining experience and quality.

My wife and I haven’t been to Lola’s for 9 years. We visited on a weekend trip. Amazing food. Gotta get the Sangria and Paella at a minimum! The Chevice was very fresh and tasty. Soup is incredible. What needs focus? The little things. Attention to detail (attentive service, clean glasses/silverware). My wife and I were seated for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged. No worries I thought - prob just busy, but it does feels nice to be welcomed and acknowledged. We’re not sure if we’ll come back yet - if we do, hoping the service is a bit better. This is a very unique/special establishment.

We live in the neighborhood and booked an outdoor reservation for two. We walked from our home to the restaurant. While waiting at the host stand a walk up of two was seated outside. They did not have a reservation. When we checked-in the host informed us they had no outside seating available and would need to be seated inside. I shared we would be willing to wait on our outside reserved table. He shared we had booked standard and not outside. I showed him the reservation and that it did indeed show outside. He blamed OpenTable and said the restaurant did not allow outside reservations. It was awkward and not much hospitality. We decided to eat somewhere else and it will be some time before we give LOLA another try. It was a very disappointing experience. Kindness, hospitality and ownership of the problem would have gone far.

Lola's seems to be in a down turn. It has definitely been better in the past. The food is hit or miss depending on what you order. The resturant was short staffed that evening, but inspite of that, the staff was very on top of guest issues or concerns.

We had a great time visiting lots of touristy spots for dinner, but found places like Lola’s to be our absolute favorites of all. Lola’s has a really calm, but fun ambience, the food was great, and our waiter, George, was the best! Super friendly staff all around. I’d highly recommend Lola’s to both locals and tourists alike!

The duck was overdone, completely overdone, I’ve never seen medium rare so well done. The wine program felt non existent. And I feel like I was a burden on the servers. Perhaps they shouldn’t seat people at the bar, it’s a no man’s land. I’m trying to think of something nice to say about the place, but it’s not coming to mind, other than perhaps they do have a nice patio(which it was too cold to sit at).

Lola's is a small restaurant so it is quite noisy but very energetic. A fun place to enjoy a meal! It was the best meal that we had in NOLA and we ate a several well-reviewed restaurants. I had the Argentina salmon and it was superb, possibly some of the best I have ever had. I hail from the Pacific Northwest so am not unfamiliar with quality salmon. Our only regret is that we were unable to eat there a second time as we were only in NOLA for five day. Loved this place.

One of our favorite restaurants in Mid-City. However, the service was very lacking. On Valentine’s Night, of all nights, there was no spark or magnetism with the staff. Our sever was lackluster at best - and reinforced our intuition that we should have gone across the street to Cafe Degas. We come to Lola’s quite often and have been very disappointed lately. I’ve written many reviews on Lola’s over the years and the owner hasn’t bothered to respond once - whether favorable or not. Time for other options.
